Mr. Winters, I have a much better proposal of how you could use your money. See, a good friend of mine was the minister of finances for the previous government of Nigeria. When the coup occurred he managed to escape the country and freeze the treasury's assets. Transfer that sum of money to me, and I'll take care of the rest of the transaction to recover the treasury's money. We'll split the $10 million USD my friend has promised me 50/50. With $5 million you could have a whole game devoted to Shepard living happily ever after with his waifu. Just imagine it.

you could collect all STD's that exist, even the ultra rare and promotional.
And you would become incredibly fat.

Bioware, first and foremost, wants to make money at the end of the day. Normally, they create a game with the hopes it sells well enough to recoup the development costs and adds a hefty margin on top.

What if we paid for the development of a new ending? What does Bioware have to lose?

I have $23,753.78 in the bank. Bioware can have every last penny. I consider it an investment, not for a game, but my own happiness.

If I'm the only one who invests, so be it.

If my contribution results in a single text slide, it would be enough. It would mean that I made a difference, that I didn't give up, and that I didn't let Shepard down.

It's been nearly 8 months. I can't get over it. I cant move on. I tried to by happy. I've tried to forget.

I guess I'm just looking for a bit of hope, because I ran out of it a long time ago.

Some people achieve happiness by owning silver, some people achieve happiness by having a good conclusion for the "game" they love. (I hesitate to call Mass Effect a mere game)

They're not going to do anything about it they already stated that Shepard's story is 100% completely over. No amount of cash is going to make them change their minds. Not to mention I think doing this is considered Bribery which is illegal in most countries.

I agree, but no amount of money would be silly to say, even BioWare would listen to a billion dollar deal ;). sorry just discussing for discussions sake :)

As already noted in this thread, Bioware is not willing to admit the ending was in any way rushed or that it didn't make sense. They know the core of their fanbase would love a new ending and would probably even pay for it, but the majority of the gaming media has pressured Bioware into not doing so by writing all that nonsense about "artistic integrity" and "entitled whiners", without realizing just how destructive the endings are to the ME narrative. Instead of really thinking about what they had actually done to the franchise and more importantly the fanbase, Bioware sided with the gaming media; It's unlikely they'll decide to change that stance now.

Depends on what's in that new ending. Many of the proposed new endings are bad enough I'd pay Bio to not make them.

Or does that mean I'm not part of the "core fanbase"?

But that is what it is, a mere game. Nothing more, and no matter how much entertainment it gives to us, it can not take the place of our real life and the people we love, who need us.

That's probably one of the craziest things I've ever heard.

... but maybe we need a little crazy. I'd do it, if there was an intelligent and well put together Kickstarter, I'd donate half of my bank account :)

Instead of giving that cash to Bioware, why not fund some fans to make a better ending?

Also, have you heard of Koobismo's Marauder Shields ending? Thats the next best thing. Check it out on Deviantart.

IF YOU ARE serious about giving that 20 K away ( honestly dont....) you might as well contact him if you like the comic, and see if you can help him start the motion comic/ animation project.

Bioware will NOT give us a good ending, nor a well written one.

Nah, just that you're part of the "new target audience" :P

Honestly, for me I just need one of two things:

1) Memorial scene, include a voiceover line over the Normandy intercomm reporting Shepard has been found alive.  This is just before the scene cuts to the exterior as teh Normandy lifts off

2) expand the breath scene to shwo Shepard either standing up, or a rescue team finding Shepard.

More would be better, of course, but either of these would do.

Seriously, this could probably be done with a patch to EC, not even a full DLC.

I really doubt funding is the reason why they are not making a new ending. It's been pretty clear since release that they are adamant in preserving their original vision and won't change it. Raising a few thousand (or even a few million) dollars is not going to make them suddenly change their mind.

I see what you're getting at OP. Integrity or not, if I was a billionaire (or won the lotto), I doubt they could turn down my 100 million offer! What that old saying "every man has his price?"

That's right, of course, but OP only talked about money, and if he does not need it for real life, it's fine.

Although I wonder whether everything is alright if you are ready to spend 23,000$. I would not have paid much more than the game already costs, honestly. If you want all DLC, Mass Effect is already very expensive.
