I dunno. Illusions are one thing, but do we really want Dragon Age to become 8-bit Theater?

Well, do remember, there are two Circle mages outside of the tower of Ferelden who discuss us, the gamers. =D

Yes! Okay, no. But illusions are all based on the mind. Wouldn't that delve into blood magic a bit?

A DLC joke spec for each class that revolves around trashing the fourth wall.

Ignore the templars, it is perfectly possible to do weird things to someone's mind without using anything that technically counts as blood magic. Don't believe me? Check the entrophy talents in Origins.
Besides, you can do illusions without touching someone's mind in some settings. I think the idea is messing with the ambient light such that the image is doctored before it passes their pupils.

Ooh, point taken. Although, what could fit in here that wouldn't be blood or entrophy magic?

DLC? You mean a specialization unlocked upon completing the game. <_<

Turning invisible, concealing party members... I think the Hermit in the Brecilian Forest actually turned an entire tower invisible, there's got to be some variation on that that a PC could use.

Ah, haha, Uh, yes, that's exactly what I meant. :innocent:

I think the Hermit is a blood mage though, so that would super enhance his normal magic yeah?
Noted, but that probably has roots in something a non-blood mage can use.

Doesn't Shadow cover a lot of that? Not a mage spec and not for a party, but how game-breaking would it be to have an invisible party?

Depends. Is the enemy blind?

Depends. A near-sighted archer is about the same thing; they can't possibly be using their eyes as their main source of information.

Can these illusions affect more than eyes? Simulate the sound of an atack from behind them, that isn't coming, maybe?
All and all, I think this spec would result in just threat distribution. Plenty of other trees deal with that.
