I am on the xbox, and this game doesn't have legacy controls
I tried "adapting" to these new modern "default controls" but have had no luck. It is like asking a right handed person who has been right handed all their life to start being left handed.
Because of this, I have been unable to play and have never bought any 1st / 3rd person shooter that does not implement legacy controls.
Thankfully, one of my friends bought me a modded legacy controller for the xbox last year. I would have completely ignored the ME3 MP beta if it were not for this modded controller. I would have totally missed out on this amazing MP game. After the beta, before the launch I decided I would like to play the ME1 and ME2 in order so that I can understand the story in ME3. So I bought the other 2 ME games.
Unfortunately, my gaming time has been taken up by the ME3 MP that I have not still to this day gotten a chance to play any of the 3 campaigns. I started on the ME1 campaign, but then I realize I could be playing ME3 MP, and simply start playing the ME3 MP. I don't think I will ever get around to playing through any of the campaigns at this pace.
Anyways, my question is about the lack of legacy controls. I am sure there are many players like me who played shooters back in the goldeneye, perfect dark days. Where the "default" controls or the "1.1" controls is what in current days is known as "legacy" controls.
There are many games I have missed out on in the past (resident evil, bioshock, deadspace, left4dead, the list goes on...) before I got the modded controller for the xbox where game makers simply don't implement the legacy control scheme.
What is the reason for this? Some game makers do implement them, like Gears of War, Call of Duty / Modern Warfare. But how come others like Mass Effect don't implement it?
