Is there a glitch to get the Lone Wolf banner? Not that I glitch or anything, but I've seen a few people rocking those banners in Bronze/Silver & not doing so hot. As a matter of fact (as some who plays 95% silver), I can't recall seeing a single person w/ that banner doing well at all, which I find odd, because someone who can solo gold twice should be able to handle themself on silver...

So last night I ended up in a Platinum game on Rio with my Ghost.  Things were going fine for most of the time, the squad was staying around the far back container while I was holding over by the ammo box inside the container yard to the left.  I'd take out enemies or soften them up from my position to make things easier on the other guys, and would move to help them out if boss targets got too close.  It wasn't until wave 8 and after that they ran into trouble.  The game decided to go heavy on the Phantoms, and the squad got wiped out before I could get to them.  Ended up kiting the enemies around while picking them off one by one until it was clear, and had to repeat that for every wave until extraction where I ended it as the sole survivor.  Once we got back to the lobby, they started to comment on "how amazing that was" and that they can see why I had the Lone Wolf banner.  One of them ended up sending me a freind invite as well because of it.

Before they applied a hotfix for it, players were able to get solo progress on all difficulties by playing Platinum and failing.  There was a bug that allowed it to credit them with extractions for B/S/G despite failing in the early waves on Platinum.  No word yet on if they've reset those people who didn't legitimately complete the challenges.

Wait to get Lone Wolf do you need to have solo'd Plat, or just solo'd two Golds?

Also Lone Wolf can either mean "Good player" or "Not a team player". You can argue that all you want but that's what people see.

You don't need Platinum to get it.  Just solo 2 Gold, 3 Silver, and 5 Bronze.  Extractions on the higher difficulties count towards the difficulties below that.

For some reason this upsets a lot of people who feel that Platinum should be required, but if that were the case we'd only ever see a handful of people at most with it.  Most people as it is can't even solo Silver or Gold, so the banner is rare enough already.

That's an interesting perspective, because according to your records you've soloed Bronze once since the DLC and you barely play Gold at all. There's nothing wrong with being a Silver slash rare occasional Gold player, but don't try to trivialize the achievements of others.

Didnt say it wasnt a difficult feat to pull off. And no, I dont solo often - primarily because, while an interesting challenge, Id rather be efficient.  But Ive solo'd gold before (pre-plat). 

My bronze solo was only done doing last weeks krogan challenge and Ive been silver heavy doing challenges/playing with a friend who started up recently. If the new system took into account my history itd look much different.  Feel free to make assumptions on two weeks worth of records tho.

Regardless, it was just as much a joke as it was a comment on how to pull it off. Im sorry if it hurt your feelings.

Got kicked for it once while doing some PUG platinums. Heard one of them say something about my banner and then I was booted. No idea why. Brought in a good character and equipment and everything.

I have observed this behavior as well. However, I am going after the banner so I can hone my skills and tactics. Working together in a public lobby requires communication, there-in lies the problem. Everyone has a mic fastened to their head, yet fails to utilize it's potential. To play as a team, you must first communicate as a team. This is why i have chosen to take a break from public matches and go it solo for a while. It never fails that you enter a public lobby and each player shows that they have a mic, yet they never say anything the entire match.  I fail to see why they would put forth the effort to plug the mic in if they refuse to actually use it. I am usually the only one that uses tactical linquistics to aid my team. Like talking to a wall, or bots. Hmmmm...

Except your way of thinking defies logic. Nobody gets good enough to solo Gold without hundreds of hours playing on teams.

Lone Wolf banner generally means one thing to mean, and I've seen this proven several times.

The person who's wearing it has a terrible connection and is generally forced to play solo. Solo'ing isn't difficult by any means, it's just time consuming. So if I see that one guy with his Lone Wolf logo who's probably been trying to host that lobby for the last 15 minutes, I just back out immediately.

tl;dr: I'm intimidated.

Lol intimidated. I came across a guy who had this banner (people must think they're elite), he was a terrible player. Kept going down on this own, running into enemies stupidly and getting overrun and obviously lacked some environmental awareness. I was surprised he had such a banner. Bear in mind this was on silver as well...

He was likely a glitcher or got it by cheating. I'm not saying soloing Gold automatically makes someone a RedJohn, but you can't possibly solo Bronze by going all Leroy Jenkins like that, let alone Gold.

For all the big talk on these forums about how LW users are bad and lol no skillz - where are you in my pub gold games? Everyday I pug and 1/10 players I play with everyday would be "passable", in that im not constantly watching their backs, reviving or cobra'ing (sp? lol) them out of the corner they backed themselves into, just so im not doing it myself. I wear the banner and I dont expect people to think "well this guys gonna solo the end of every wave and I can just bleedout cause he got this". Yes, I do got this - but id rather have teammates to play with and share the experience of "close calls" etc. You dont like my banner - leave my lobby, were both happy.
