Most people do it for the challenge(not banner challenge) because it makes you a better player.

The only banner I plan on displaying is the promote 60 characters one. I am actually AT 60 promotions now, but I guess they didn't track promotions before banners began.I always promote when I hit 20, so I rarely play the higher difficulties anyway.

I think the opposite when you see a guy with the lone wolf banner you know he has at least some intelligence unlike most pugs
