So I am going to vicious steal Derek's idea and make a thread of my own. Most things in this thread are my opinion, and not necessarly those of BioWare.

So go ahead and ask me, I will not comment on:
Intimate details of my personal life
Upcoming unannounced things
Some aspect of the inner workings of our system
Some aspects of working within BioWare/EA as a company
Questions I have already asked

So if you want to know something about me ask, otherwise I will feel badly and sad :(

Note:
Please keep in mind the forum rules

A bit about myself:
I am a 26 year old guy born and raised in Edmonton Alberta Canada. I currently live with Derek and another member of QA approximately 5min away from our offices. I have a lovely girlfriend, 1 brother and a cat. I started at BioWare in August 2010 as a contract employee and was hired as a full time Senior Quality Assurance Tester a year later.

Does the weekend challenge have to be done in one game or can it be over the course of the weekend

Over the course, it is like any of the weapon challenges.

What are your responsibilities in Bioware?

Currently I am the qa who oversees the operations of the live team, as well as some of our smaller DLC and patches.

This last patch, firefight pack, groundside resistance I was the "lead" QA for. I assign tasking for Derek and Ernest among others. So I also am the one who oversees the qa technical side of the weekend operations and balance changes. I am also the person who does the actual server pushes for them.

Hey Bryan!
One doubt here.
If I do my challenge today, my commendation can have a Valkyrie AR inside or only in the next challenge?

If by today you mean when operation valkyrie start in approximately 11 hours there is a chance you will get a valkyrie in the commendation pack.

Will you ever realize that the weekend op announcements are really, really confusing for stupid people? I think you'll have to stop using fancy words like "cumulative" and go with the 'See Spot Run' route.

Also, what is your favorite melee kit?

There will always be confusion as words mean different thing to different people. Without having the promo screen we are not bound by the number of characters anymore so we are capable of providing more info, I suppose.

As for fav melee kit, it is the GI

your signature confuses me. I understand what Quality Assurance is, and i have a general understanding of Live Coordination but what is Build/Reporting Specialization?

During development you will typically have a process called BVT (Build Verification Testing) this is where a member of QA takes the build for that day and runs tests and if it is good for the team releases it, this is how I started.

I also created a lot of builds (such as the E3 build, gamescom, etc. etc.) are builds which I created the actual disc image for.

Reporting is something I took on extra, where I would take large chunks of data and make them into readable formats for our production staff. IE how many bugs were filed that day, by whom, for who, and how critical. I would also report things such as how many bigs were being filed against a level in a given day etc.

AKA Graphs and Charts for our production and lead staff

Okay, I kid, I kid.

First off, cool. You're only a year younger than me, but your job is definitely way cooler than mine. LOL

Question: What is your favorite gun in the whole game? If not an assault rifle, what is your favorite assault rifle?

Yes, I'm an assault rifle freak like Derek. Posted Image

For ME2 it was the Mattock, for ME3 it was the Venom Shotgun. For AR I would go with the Striker.

What's it like working for Bioware and what do you do?

It is pretty awesome, the people I work with are great, we know when to work and when to have fun and do random things. Like we created a game of trying to shoot nerf darts into a plastic pumpkin, tomorrow we have beer and a halloween costume, today was QA cake day.

Also everyone is very approachable, I could walk into Casey's office and start a conversation with him. I played TOR with Ray Muzyka, and would stop and have a conversation if I came across him in the halls.

As for what I do I responded in a slightly earlier question.

Hi Bryan

Out of all the ME3 devs, who is the best at the game?

(I need to ask Derek the same question)

Derek would probably say me, or Bjorn or Chris Schanche.

I am not sure who I would consider the best, there is a guy in QA that is pretty good at the game but I think anyone on the gameplay team is definitely very strong.

What's the name of your cat?

Also, if that's not related to the game enough to warrant an answer, what is entailed in the process of designing new characters? Is one of you just sitting around writing down combinations of powers you haven't tried before, or is it more elaborate?

Chloe

I am not involved in that process, but it seems to me it is very much idea bouncing. The designers create something do a small prototype and then pitch the idea to the creative director. If it is approved then they work on it a bit more and add in modeling and animation.

Hi Brian. Love the game. Have defended the changes made since patch and retaliation. Just wondering... is your guy's motto the following?

"When in doubt, give a new character, Incinerate."

You'd have to ask the gameplay team, but I would say no they have a pretty clear idea of the powers they want when they create the kits.
