How many people have herd of this?

It's going to be Morrigan's baby, you know it, I know it. Hellz yeah. Raise the level cap, and add a ****load of new powers, you know that's gonna be an old god. and WE descide whether The Warden and Morrigan's choice is good or bad.

Happy new year everybody! :wizard:

15 hours of new gameplay :o

'new character and a new origin' - Hopefully Leliana and/or Morrigan will be your companion, I can't play DA without them

If this is 15 hours gameplay, then it's might even less than 15 hours for some or most player, I think, hmmm how much costy for this one? 15 hours is kind of...short for a Expansion, it's should be 20 to 30 hours for expansion, I think

I would think if there was a full expansion coming out in March. 1.it would already be in the gaming and pc magazines being promoted and reviewed prior to release. 2. online retailers like Amazon would have it available for pre-order right now.

But let's ask Bioware now DEV's is there a expansion called The Awakening coming out in March or not,if not let us know now. !!!!!

A March release date sounds great, though I doubt even if this expansion rumor is true it would be done in time. Would give us a month to sink into ME2 and then jump back in to old DA :)

I am inclined to take this as bad news, if it will deal with Morrigan's baby. Not all people made that choice, it would be very meeeh if that choice was canonised. And just 15 hours of gameplay isn't enough to cover his / her story. Plus, I want to continue with my own character, as the epilogue promised!
Why do I get the feeling EA is behind it all?

This expansion can be good if we are allowed to play our own character and if it doesn't involve Morrigan's baby. Ok, perhaps we can get subtle hints about it and Morrigan. Perhaps we can even find them and persuade her to raise the baby together. But the God child is too important for a 10-15 hours expansions. It should be saved for a full sequel, as a possible origin.

What the heck? Why would you assume it's Morrigan's baby? Sounds more like human commoner or something, with extra dungeons. It's an expansion, so I would assume a new origin would start at the same time as the others... meaning pre-meeting Morrigan in any case.

It's all rumor though.

Not really, it says you start a new character who would have their own specific origin/origins, it would be rather stupid to recycle the origins for a completely different character. As for Morrigan, it's assumed because Bioware has said Morrigan's story is not over and logic would dictate that it would be handled rather shortly after the OC.

I highly doubt the god child will be handled in a 15 hour expansion. The god child sounds straight up sequal worthy, an expansion wouldn't do it justice. I mean, come on, it's the end result of the entire game.

Awakening, eh?

"I awoke weeks later in a chasind hut, weak and feverish"

Come on Fergus, it's time for you to shine!

But, seriously, this is good news. I imagine it'll be a story that runs alongside, or even prior to, the events of the main game (assuming the info is accurate and they mean a new, non-Main Warden character), perhaps dealing with the Archdemon's awakening and the sparking off of the 5th Blight... so I don't think people should get too worried about "canon" issues right about now.

I think it could be done in a 20-25 hour expansion if they recycled the old character and a few companions. That way you'd already have the main character and his story built up, his past known and a solid relationship with a few companions already, and a relationship with what one would assume is the "villain". The time can then be spent focused on what happened between the end of the OC and now, a couple of new companions, and the story and ending which can be wrapped up fairly quickly when you don't have to build your main character up. Starting from scratch though, I agree a short expansion would never be able to do it justice unless it's episodic.

But, seriously, this is good news. I imagine it'll be a story that runs

Most sites which originally had this rumor posted, meaning not that one, have said chronologically it takes place shortly after the events of Origins.

Human commoner origin ftw!

And why raise the level cap? I don't know that many people who profess that they need more levels in this game, since it's stupidly hard to reach that vaunted level 30.

It is peculiar, when someone like David Gaider writes on these boards that we haven't seen the last of Morrigan, the text mysteriously changes in such a way that people instead read that the godsoul bastard fetus is a focal point of the next Dragon Age installment.

What strange and whimsical magicks this board exercises upon us all!

Am I the only one who thinks that this Eurogamer.cs source seems a bit unreliable? I mean, the news is rather vague and many info seem discording (why raise the level cap if you have to make a new character?). I don't know: while I definitely think that we'll see an expansion sooner or later, this news strikes me as a bit odd.

Between Gaider's words, the fact Bioware has said they want to move on and explore more of Thedas and expand on more stories sooner rather then later, and the fact it is has a massive plot capability, one can easily assume they would want to tackle it rather quickly.

Are there Griffons in it or not?

Yes, but only if you make them. So get crackin'.

I'm more inclined to believe that this is a continuation for the protagonist of Origins than a fresh character; assuming the rumors are true. I suppose BioWare could pull a Shadows of Undrentide and create a new protagonist, but there's not much of a point.

15 hours really isn't that much seeing as how it is little more than "hype time" so to speak. fifteen hours would likely end up being five for the average player. A new protagonist would seem pointless unless they intended on continuing that character's story in another expansion or sequel.

i think that if it really comes out in March and is really15hrs, than it isnt a full expansion and just an extra long DLC

I wouldn't exactly believe this. Its probably fake, considering it showed up first on some random site, and Bioware has made no announcement about it. Plus the idea of another character and new origin isn't exactly expansion, its a new game. It'd be an expansion pack if your the same character and not an entirely new one. Unless Bioware confirms this, its best to assume its a lie.

They never quoted any developers, or said Bioware revealed it to them or anything - they just stated it themselves. Its quite obvious.
