About negativity: My guilt for my DA2'stance makes me to say this: Bioware Ι totally reconsider. Given it's shortcomings DA2 is very good.

Once again I agree with Machines Are Us. The first Bioware game I bought was Sonic Chronicles, because it was a Sonic game (I didn't know a thing about Bioware or really any studio then). I played it perhaps half a dozen times, straight off. The second game I bought was ME2 upon the suggestion of a friend. I played for about 160 hours in a month, or four to five playthroughs.

bioware makes amazing games.

Now, I've played everything from KotOR forward except JE. DA:O is my favorite--to me, it seems to be the best RPG (beating KotOR even, but that's another topic) they've made, and I've played.

I still think ME2, ME3, and DA 2[ (and Sonic for that matter! Forget you haters!) are incredibly fantastic games compared to 90% of what's out there today.

^_^I agree with this

+1. it is all about having a compelling and iteresting story with dialogue.
Deus ex Hr had this too thus a great game.
Flash news: Arnold is going to make a direct sequel to Conan once again ignoring even Conann the destroyer. this hyped me for some fantasy setting game.

I really can't rely on an opinion from someone so dim that they post a Dragon Age 2 topic in Dragon Age 3 forum.

I guess that DA:2 is for those type of people.

Those of us who don't start every sentence with either "errr" or "durrr" will just continue to enjoy DA:O.

*Blink*

There's actually a large community of people on Tumblr (of which I, happily, am one) who are STILL discussing the literary merits of DA2 (i.e. the Heroine's Journey, the concept of jus in bello, the nature of blood magic, the Fade, demons and spirits as comparable to similar representations in organized religion, representations of women and female friendships, and more...)  There's even a podcast called Knickerweasels which was formed specifically to discuss DA2 and which enjoys a strong following.

Most of us like DA:O, but where we find that DA:O is formulaic and similar to other fantasy epic games, complete with best-case scenarios and happy endings, DA2 is a much more complex and personal animal worthy of interest and discussion.

I love both games, but as I've played DA:O completely through twice, I've played through DA2 about nine times.  I'm still playing both games, but I personally find DA2 much more compelling.

So...errrr, durrrr, I guess? :P  In the end it's all about personal opinion, but there's no need to assume that because you didn't like DA2 that nobody liked DA2, or that the game was unworthy of play time, intellectual discussion, or praise.

This thread is being locked for the primary reason that cleaning it up will result in 90% of the posts needing to be deleted anyways.

I actually have little issue with the OP, although perhaps tying it in to DA3 in terms of the aspects you did and did not like from DA2 will protect you from those that wish to scrutinize those types of details.
