Then how about you actually wait and see what DA3 is like before you start complaining about it? Just a thought.

Because I've actually waited to see how Mass Effect 2 was before I started complaining. I waited to see how Dragon Age 2 was before I started complaining. I waited to see how Tor would be, even after being in early beta and watching Bioware ignore their beta testers. And I waited to see how Mass Effect 3 would turn out. How much more waiting should I do before I open my mouth? And please don't sit here and tell me I'm the only one. These forums were in uproar a month ago and now we don't want to post anything negative? Really?

1. I criticize Bioware because I care.
2. My original post was meant to bring back the memory of when Origins was released.
3. Why can't ideas, objections and frustration be one in the same? I don't understand why I can't express my ideas and objections in a frustrated manner.

You can express frustration without being insulting and rude, you can say you didn't like the game without calling it 'garbage', you can express your disappointment with Bioware without making personal slights "...Bioware sold out their entire customer base....The last best game Bioware ever made...Bioware
turned their back on the people that made them who they are" and those are personal insults because you're making statements about the kind of people you think they are.

Can you really not see how hostile and antagonistic your post was? How do you expect to discuss something with people like that, it's the equivalent of getting right up in someones face in RL, it just doesn't work...

Fair enough, and I do see your point. But without that aggressive stance, nobody is going to listen. I don't make threads to troll or come off as the bad guy, it is not my intent to get in someone's face, but at the end of the day, if you don't create some sort of controversy, nobody is going to listen.

As I said, Bioware does not understand constructive feedback. If they had, Tor would be the top mmo right now. Bioware, like Blizzard, these developers have a God complex. I've seen the people in this industry and these forums, this interaction, for a large percentage of them, it's a power trip. They get off on it. And they do not take criticism well.

There's still plenty of negativity on these boards to go around. Like I said, if you think you are being original you'll be disappointed. And if you are truly that unhappy with all of those games then maybe it's time for you to take a hint? You know, as in maybe BioWare is no longer the gaming company for you?

Tesclo I think the problem is that these threads are a dime a dozen, they pop up multiple times daily? And actually I don't think there is any point posting over and over, but that's not the same as saying they should just forget about it though! Just take a look at the state of these boards the past few months, I seriously doubt they could forget all the criticisms

Yeah, I wouldn’t indulge his manic ranting, but honestly I couldn’t tell if the guy is a troll or not.

I mean, at least I cannot recognize whether postings like these are genuine, or trolling / attempt at a parody / jokes or what (I don’t know if the type / opinion cluster has a name, but surely everybody can recognize it). There’s a fitting word for it though, and it is a parody horizon, and going over it (or a troll horizon in this case perhaps). That is all I can say about this sort of a content combined with that delivery.

(Those unfamiliar with a neologism of a parody horizon; it in itself is a satire of the concept of an event horizon, but instead it’s that boundary after which it is impossible to make any parody or satire of an opinion or phenomenon, because it makes that of itself. I think, OP and his kind have crossed that point way too often in the past and present, for me to recognize any intention or meaning behind these. We are talking about a surreal logic after all, so anything can be caused by anything).

Oh, and no personal offense to the OP!  It’s not you; it’s what you write, and the politeness prevents me from commenting on those, except that your gifts might be needed elsewhere more. Like in Bethesda forums, because they might need fresh and honest opinions on the ending of Fallout 3, and you seem to be full of those. Most of here are bootlicking fanboys and girls beyond redemption anyway, so I don’t see why you need to waste your time in here on fighting windmills.

Depends on your definition of normal. But a good rule of thumb is that if you start off by posting something that is largely offensive to people, you probably won't get a great response from them. You may want to work a bit on your presentation.

Dont worry. People who hate the direction they are going are still around. Its just most are tired of posting the same things over and over again only to be flamed until the topic is locked. Once more news about the game comes out you will see people come back.

I sure do. That was back before Bioware sold out their entire customer base. The last best game Bioware ever made.

Dragon Age 3 will be more of the same garbage that Dragon Age 2 was. Bioware turned their back on the people that made them who they are.

I remember it.

I remember people complaining that the Warden had an official appearance.
I remember people complaining that BioWare had wasted money on a stupid cinematic trailer.
I remember people complaining that the game didn't look like the trailer and it was false advertizing.
I remember people complaining that EA was turning the entire franchise into a hack and slash game with 'kewl' but unrealistic fighting.

Interestingly enough... I don't remember YOU. Were you actually on the forums when they released the sacred ashes trailer?

@ OP - I don't remember the trailer because I didn't buy DA:O until I saw that it was on tons of "Top 10 RPGs of All Time" lists. Wish I could say I had waited for DA2 but I pre-ordered much to my chagrin. I will wait to see KoP and others (who aren't around here much but post frequently on another dev's forums) think of it - since we have similar taste in games.

At all those who claim the "positive" opinions here are a majority of the opinions held, I suggest perhaps venturing in to other more broad gaming forums.

I loved DA:O, enjoyed some of DA2 and really hope they can get back to a happy place with DAIII.

That is why I keep coming back to these forums and slogging through all the bs. Because I enjoyed Bioware's older games so much and hope they can make me love them again.

I was actually as I've already stated in this thread. I was locked out of my account by my own stupidity. But of all those things mentioned, did they touch the criticism Mass Effect 3 had? How about the recycled environments of Dragon Age 2? Sure you can complain about the Warden having an official appearance, but guess what? You had, what was it? 5 other origins to go through (forgive me it's been awhile)?

The point is, the real heat that Bioware has taken has been with it's latest releases. And yes I was here the day this website opened. The day Chris Priestly told us this was a website for the developers to talk to their fans. I sat here and watched the good doctor play Origins at Flemeth's hutt with the rest the of you.

It is rather difficult, yes.

They (we) are generally divided into three sections.
  • Those who will not accept any criticism of EA or Bioware, no matter what they do. They will normally jump on any person who says anything remotely critical, regardless of how true or honest the opinion is. They will accuse all those who dislike features that they personally enjoy "trolls" and will not even attempt to have a rational discussion.
  • Those who hate everything Bioware do and will accuse you of being the above if you don't also hate it. These people tend to go into every topic that is remotely positive and claim that people are stupid, deluded or outright wrong for liking what Bioware does. They will create their own topics claiming Bioware are as bad as the devil, and will criticise anybody who likes anything Bioware does as "deluded", "fanboys" or "ignoring the bad parts".
  • Rational people who can see that Bioware do good and bad, and try and attempt to give honest opinions on where they think Bioware can improve, and where they have done well. They will criticise where they think it's due, and praise what they think deserves it. Some of these people are quite positive in their views, as they want to concentrate on what Bioware does right. Then there are others (like myself) who are a lot more critical when they discuss things, as they are more concerned in removing what they think Bioware does wrong.
You OP came across as the second option. It seems from later posts that you are number three, but your overall tone does not really help your argument.

Ironically this just feels like a reversal, a few months ago if you posted anything remotely positive about the game you would be endlessly ridiculed and have a wave of enraged posters bearing down on you  I gave up on these forums for a while because of it. A bit of balance overall would be nice!
