One of the things that i most wanted in DA series was the presence of crazy companions in our party. In this case, i was referring to a radical companion of a radical race. This already happend. We had Shale,  a golem who hated pinegeons and almost made them extinct at Ferelden. i was thinking at:

M.A.G.G.O.T=Most amazing ginger guy on Thedas. M.A.G.G.O.t is a crazy darkspawn companion who faled in love for humanity and other races fashion after the death of the Archithet and The Mother. He was created by the Architectin Amaranthine. The Architect hoped he could create a human-like darkspawn for diplomatic decisions. This darkspawn would be way more human than in darkspawn way of thinking. But the result was an ultimate fail.

This darkspawn was an extremmely skileld fighter, strategiest and so on. But he becamed crazy for humanity ways of living. So he named himself M.A.G.G.O.t. For booth his insiginificance towards the Archiitect, the other darkspawn and himself.

M.A.G.G.O.T always jokes and hardly get's upset with the Inquisitor decisions. He's extremely smart and always defend the Inquisitor and his companions no matter the situation or problem.
-----------------------------------------------------
Nonari= A desertor Seerabas who wanted to live free of the Qun. He travels to Orlais in hope of lerarning more about magic and how to defend himself. In Orlais, he learns that the dwarfs magic/powers were dugged inside the hearth of the capital. He could use this power to become the most powerull being in the world. Whomever, the war and the templar presence make this impossible. So he sees making friends with the Inquisitor an opportinity.

Nonari like Sten, hardly smiles and normally only worries with his goals.
------------------------------------------------------
Moron= An extremely powerfull shappfiting demon that was summoned into the world of Thedas. He quicklyed killed the necromancers. On his travels in Thedas, he discovered that the world of mortals is beatifull and  fallsin love with it. He become friends of a group of apostate's and learn more about Thedas magic. Whomever, him and his firends are attacked by templars and killed in the process. Moron kills them and runs.

He joins the Inquisitor for his past with the Templars and for his promisse of finishing the war. Unlike Anders, Moron doesn't hates the templars. Moron is an extremely funny demon always making stupid commentarys and awnsers. But he's extremely funny, proud of himself and a great friend. he normally will diasguisse i nconversations while in the party. He's able to change his forms for a pride demon (tank), Arcane horror (mage) and to asloth demon (rougue).

If we get crazy then it needs to be crazy we can understand.

You don't recruit a crazy person unless you can't progress without him.
So crazy =/= brilliant and not just a madman.

And never a Darkspawn, they can't function without spreading taint.

You just definied my opinion of "crazy companions"  in your last line. I would love a darkspawn companion, Bioware always find a way.

Or unless you're a few arrows short yourself. Though the other bit I quoted does go some way towards making this option a smart one.

Almost all the companions we get follow some sort of reasoning.  It can be the Blue and Orange Morality of the Qun or Anders' bat**** uncompromising views, but there's usually at least some logic there.

Well I like to think there's a good chance that we'll be getting Leliana back as a companion (I'm assuming they won't kill her in the explosion at the beginning of the game) -- in which case we'll already have a healthy dose of crazy in the party. :)

I'd love to see a quest that occurs simply because "the Maker is telling her what to do" and it turns into some sort of fiasco resulting in the death of another companion or something.

I don't think that's going to happen. Apparently there is some metaphysical reason why she can survive being killed by the Warden, so even if I haven't seen official word on whether or not she's crazy, she's probably not.

I don't think Shale was crazy. She was pretty sane for someone who had gone through what she went through.

Characters can't be too bizarre or the reader/viewer/player cannot relate to them on any level. I'm not remotely afraid BW would ever make that mistake though because their character writing is top notch.

I wouldn't want a character who was truly troubled or insane because it would just be depressing ... I would want to help that character but wouldn't be able to. That's why I'm wary of Cole (whom I know very little about, but apparently he's quite unhinged and damaged).

I love Anders to pieces, but his situation is almost too dire for me to handle. It's difficult to think about what he's going through and will continue to go through. And there's nothing Hawke or my future PC can do about it.

Untrue, you can have Hawke put the terrorist out of his misery.

Ah! That would definitely be interesting... Till they decide to use dementation on you anyway...
At least Malkav's insight would be useful, provided you can decode what they say...

"I color the world with the hues of my madness."

Just think of a companion who's like Stark. Someone who you don't know if they're crazy, obfuscating insight with crazy, or maybe a bit of both.

I'd love to have an actual 'mad' companion, they can be interesting and wonderfully endearing characters!
