Why the Asari Valkyrie should not be played like the N7 Fury. (now with more bad quality pictures!)

Neither of those builds are particularly good.

Skipping the passive gimps your weapon damage, power damage, and ability to carry heavy weapons and still use powers regularly.

Skipping Fitness and taking Tech Armor is kind of stupid since you obviously benefit more from damage reduction when you have more shields/health.

If you detonate a BE with warp as the deteonator, do you lose the debuff from warp? I'm mostly looking for wether I should warp a target before or after I come into AF range.

Good question. I do not believe so.

IF anyone knows, it would be either Lord Viron OR Lord Pedrelezz (don't know if I am writing that correctly).

The Reegar can make any build op to be honest.

Assuming AF is the primer, neither ability would lose the debuffs afaik. (I've gotten both AF and Warp kills well after their effects were "detonated")

So biotic combo with Warp as the detonator when you can.

If it makes you feel better, I can make a clip where I use a Claymore and Incendiary ammo to go along with my Warp and we can pretend that exploiting a bug is "balanced".

Just a note: if you use AP mod (or HVB) with 65% armor weakening + warp rounds (another armor weakening) + warp (25% base armor weakening) isn't the pierce evolution redundant? I mean, if your teammates do the same (ap mod+ammo or even just ap mod)...
if so, could be viable to take recharge at rank 6, to swap rank 4 racial passive to weapon damage?

The HVB does not weaken armor, it only ignores a percentage of armor damage reduction

Also, I don't like my builds to rely on the RNG too much.

yes It doesn't weaken armor, it ignores just for you the armor damage mitigation by 65%.
But my points remain, even with only ap mod+warp basic you'll achieve 90% armor reduction...and with the stupid warp rounds I you can reach the 100%.
I'll try that, I didn't take the power recharge in tech armor so I'm trying to compensate in some way.

As an aside - I've not read all the responses so someone may well have mentioned this - one other point that the Valkyrie has over the Fury... unlike Throw, Warp is a primer as well as a detonator so you can chuck a warp at something that's a long, long way away and by the time you've closed with it you'll be out of cooldown and you can detonate your AF - which will detonate the BE you've primed with Warp.

That's actually turned out far more useful than I'd have ever thought it would.

This is true, and it may be applicable if the target is in a group you want to stagger, but having AF up is invaluable for both draining shields, quick priming, and debuffing.  If your cooldown is already done, and the enemy is a single target within range to detonate AF, that means they are also in range for AF to prime, and you can simply cast Warp to detonate since your coodlown is done.

Why miss out on double debuff?  I think that's what I'm going to rename my Valkyrie

I tend to use it against things like Brutes, Dragoons, well anything that can close fast, and mobs... basically, when detonating AF will trigger the BE and kill something you don't need the double debuff as the thing will already be dead :)

For example, against a Brute that's some distance away.
Warp (for debuff)
Shoot (I'm using a Harrier X)
{Brute charges} - just sidestep out of the way
Detonate AF and the Brute will die in the explosion.

The best builds imo are 4/6/6/6/4 to maximize weapon damage, and 6/6/6/4/4 as a good all around build.

Between those 2?
66606

Cause I think a 06666 is better than a 66660.

I have a question, for those with the expertise to weigh in.

This is how I built my Valkyrie, naturally, but is this something I should be doing with my Fury as well? I always, always took movement sped bonus for AF and never considered doing otherwise. I still feel like that's the right way to go, given her lack of Warp. Still, this is... impressive. Thoughts anyone?

Fury is different than this build in that she doesn't have warp for the double debuff. You're basically running around all the time setting off be's, so the speed is better in her case.

She's paper thin, so if you try and take advantage of her debuff from AF with a gun, you're gonna get destroyed.

It's not just the reegar, she destroy bosses with any decent weapon. Haven't tried the reegar with her (because I don't like it much) but she rocks the wraith and talon.

I really don't get your build. You said it's like the Fury, but your AS does a weak (only 15 points on warp) BE.
For those that want to play her like the Fury, I think the 6/6/6/0/6 is best.

Why I will continue to play the Asari Valkyrie like a tankier fury despite OP's wall of text:

because it works really well

What's your tanking build?

If you're looking for a tanky Valkyrie build, I'd say go for this: http://narida.pytalh...9@0EEIFN4L4@0@0. Cyclonic IV, and it doesn't get much tankier. On this character, at least ;)

Edit: I was just referring to the powers. Of course, the lighter your weapon is, the more damage you can withstand, theoretically speaking.

Ashen,

Does your Rank 4 for AF
change now that you know Radius increases the radius of the field, or
would you still prefer Damage?

Yeah, that changes everything. I wish I had known about that sooner.

So when you respec/promote you will have the same build except take "Radius" instead of "Damage"? All else the same?

I went with 66653. Valkyrie is boss. With the AF shield leach and tech armor dmg protection she's quite a tank. Also I prefer speed boost, warp expose and recharge speed. I'm using a pirahnaX and juggernaut V gear. This works well on silver and gold, i don't play platinum so idk if it will be as effective. I wish I had gear that gave shield boost and shotty dmg, but I don't think it exists. I like to get in the face of the enemy, so I do play her like a fury, or asari vanguard, just my preference.

I tend to go (with rare exceptions like the Demolisher) 6/6/6/5/3 on every kit, and it's worked out really well for me. This is no different.
