After putting so much effort into the belief that all cultures have something to offer this world, I really find it disgusting that everyone as they currently are needs destroyed and rebuilt in the half organic half synthetic image dictated by the reapers (because being half and half has clearly made the reapers great people).

Walking husks! Great! How much money will this cost?

Oh, and sliced bread sucks. It's dry, thin and cheap. Unsliced bread FTW.

Which it has, or did you forget where the citadel or the mass relays came from?

2) You don't have to eat food anymore to survive. It's only a delicacy.
2) You can control how intoxicated you are after drinking alcohol or doing drugs
3) You can watch Netflix when you close your eyes.
4) You can drive cars using your mind alone.
5) You can share files with other people without Omni-tools
6) ???

An uncountable amount of genocide, and these are the people we should be remade in the image of?

Only if you drank the kool-aid. Wait, what is kool-aid made from, is part synthetic now too? Does it all just turn green? Oh the endless speculations.:wizard:

This is what I'm talking about. Everyone talks about the "theory of synthesis" and all that yucky stuff about reapers this and that, and reapers are innocent victims, or no they're not. Who really cares? No one talks about the features and benefits of synthesis. Let's get to the practical stuff, because after a generation, no one is going to give a rat's behind about what the reapers did or didn't do. Think of the benefits.

Look at the above list. Even at a noisy club you can communicate without having the need to shout across the table.

If you could read my mind ... oh wait. You can. And you know I want you to pick me up a pint of Haagen Daaz. :D

So there are no longer any excuses. :crying:

I wouldn't want the Mass Effect kind of Synthesis, but I'm sure one day humans will have metal parts put into them. I mean, technically having a titanium rod in your leg, it's kind of like synthesis for healing leg injuries.

I think it would make the universe a safer place, too. We can make sure that if anyone even thinks about commiting a crime, his ID will be uploaded directly to a reaper. And instead of being punished, he can simply join an existing reaper consensus, so he will be preserved and still not be a threat to our beautiful society.

It is the ideal solution!

I really think this idea is great. Imagine having the strengths of both organic and machine and the weaknesses of neither. I've been setting up a computer network for the past six weeks and have been coming up with all these little changes I want to make on the fly. It dawned on me today how much easier this would be if synthesis were real. I could personally interface with the network and just think it and the network would understand and align itself to my thought patterns. Wow. I wouldn't have had all the trouble getting all these contraptions working, and I wouldn't have had all the licensing issues with the companies because the computers and I could have communicated directly and talked things out rather than having to go through the people who were constantly making mistakes.

And then speaking of the people, we wouldn't have had to worry about the language barriers either since I could communicate digitally with them by thought. So that would eliminate a lot of problems right there.

I really hope Bioware makes Synthesis canon for the next Mass Effect game. It would be a wonder utopia.  :wizard:

I'm glad you can finally see the light Julia. I was afraid that you'd never make it. That you'd continue to wallow in the mire of mediocrity - the mire of Destroy/Control/Refuse. This is a great day. Both for you, for reaching enlightenment, and the Synthesis community for obtaining such a great member.

After all, it's what Saren would have wanted...

In the name of the the Deus Ex, the Casey and the Holy Walters.

Amen.

Reaper "indoctrination" is an insidious means of corrupting organic minds, "reprogramming" the brain through physical and psychological conditioning using electromagnetic fields, infrasonic and ultrasonic noise, and other subliminal methods. The Reaper's resulting control over the limbic system leaves the victim highly susceptible to its suggestions.

Organics undergoing indoctrination may complain of headaches and buzzing or ringing in their ears. As time passes, they have feelings of "being watched" and hallucinations of "ghostly" presences. Ultimately, the Reaper gains the ability to use the victim's body to amplify its signals, manifesting as "alien" voices in the mind.

Indoctrination can create perfect deep cover agents. A Reaper's "suggestions" can manipulate victims into betraying friends, trusting enemies, or viewing the Reaper itself with superstitious awe. Should a Reaper subvert a well-placed political or military leader, the resulting chaos can bring down nations.

But wouldn't a Utopia be so wonderful that little to no conflict would arise? Having penned some short stories I can say that without elements of drama and conflict the world being written about is boring. And if conflict does arise then was it a Utopia at all?

The abilities gained from Synthesis may be cool as they have been described previously. But one of ME's major draws was that all the races had genuine grievances with each other and yet worked together on some level while the hostilities bubbled under the surface. That ws a great foundation to build stories upon.

Yes, Synthesis is the best way to expand ME lore. Just imagine the possibilities, and keep in mind reserved Dark Energy Plot :)

... And actually there is a way to make Synthesis inevitable without making any ME3 ending canon:
