Hah, no kidding. I got lucky getting a lot of carnifex drops during the demo but when the game finally came out it was over a month and a half before I saw my first one.

Warp would actually hit targets. Stasis didn't need stasis-strength and could have duration and you'd still have time to pop a shot or three into a Phantoms head. And the most dearly missed-- biotic explosions actually did decent damage that was worth the poor low health and shields.
Good times for AAs back then. Who would've guessed they'd fall so far from grace, so much so, I've seen them kicked from lobbies for being pathetically underpowered.
Ah well. At least they were once enjoyable.

I remember when BW mislabeled a rocket launcher as a sniper rifle. I remember fondly when they smashed it with hammers.
I remember when the Carnifex was the end all of pistols.
I remember when ME had no multiplayer, but made up for it with an enthrallingly good single player mode.

Hmm...I remember during the demo, the Salarian Infiltrator and Asari Adept were god tier. Can't remember why the Salarian was so good, but the Asari could Stasis everything in Cerberus except Turrets and Atlases.
