Thank you for the kind words on the comic; I'm happy at the overall positive reception to the pages. I was fortunate to get the chance to collaborate with David Gaider, because a chance like this does not happen every day! I was definitely on board when the story he had in mind would illustrate the existence and scale of Morrigan's dilemma, whose declaration prior to the storming Denerim was one of the most touching, powerful words uttered in the game. Personally, the best thing about this was the opportunity to glimpse into more Morrigan-Alistair interactions beyond the game while working on the pages, as I do miss them quite a bit after finishing a playthrough.

I've uploaded the rough layout of the comic, so you can compare the initial plans to the finished story.

This was actually done as a quick test with an inkjet printing DIY Keychain-making kit. The experiment was a failure - the keychains ended up skewed and warped during the hardening stage in the oven - but at least there's an artwork that came out of it

And from the artwork above, someone commented that 'she wants to keep her (Aeducan) in her pocket and take her out to snuggle her face.'' and this image popped in my head. I had to draw it out XD

This is assuming Warden Alistair is hanging around Vigil's Keep during the game, and not off to Highever to build Duncan's shrine...so if it's not the case, bleach this comic from your minnnnds~

Thanks for posting your input to my last update, ladies and lads! I haven't been able to post anything new as of late due to being out of commission (O HAI CHICKIEPOX), but I come back now bearing something new to read.

While recovering, the urge to be creative has been prodding in my brain during the last few days. So taking inspiration from the many prompts at a Dragon Age Meme of the...uh...sexy kind, here are one of the results.

Anonymous prompter at the meme asked for "nathaniel howe/f!pc (not cousland). he's really not as terrible as he seems!".

(It's easy to dismiss Nathaniel at first due to his lineage (and oh-so-surly attitude), but if the PC works on being nice to him as a companion, Howe Jr. sheds his exterior to reveal that he's not that bad of a guy after all. Guess who's my favourite expansion NPC, eh??)

Great comics! I was a little incensed by the first couple of chapters, but when the dream faded I was releived. I must say I really did not like Nathaniel Howe throughout Awakeing, but here he seems more like a real person with genuine character than a difficult character with the spitting image of his father.

Beautiful work as always.
I hope Nathaniel and the other companions from Awakening will come back in DA2 or maybe another expansion. They sound like really interesting characters and it would be a real shame to not use the potential.

He is my favorite.

And he reminds me a little of Valen when he says 'my lady' which is, you know...

Awwwwww. What a cute Nate comic. My warden was pals with Nate...and managed to see beyond his past, even though she was a Cousland. I've got this picture in my head of them being friends when they were kids.



I'm so with you on being sore about the lack of Alistair cameo for anyone other than a Cousland Queen. My Cousie loved Alistair just the way he was and wouldn't have changed him for anything. I wouldn't have minded just being able to see him for a moment.



I'm with the others, and I kind of hope that this was the beginning of a series about Nate's adventures with the warden!

I haven't played Awakenings yet, but that was really cute Aimo.  I can see my mage girl getting all misty-eyed talking about missing Alistair too.   I can't wait to meet Nathaniel if he's that adorable, but I agree with what everyone else is saying, it's probably a good thing there aren't any romances or else my mage girl might be too tempted to cheat on Ali, lol.

DalishRanger: I think I've done about seven or so meme prompts to date, but most are somewhat a bit hot for primetimeifyouknowwhatimean As for Nathaniel being a favourite expansion character, it's those durned "bad boy turned good" archetypes...I have no immunity to it! *throws up hands*

Servant of Nature: ILU2, SoN. Yes, there will be more of Nate in comics from me I already have one silly idea that involves Anders, Oghren, and a hot spring in the Keep....but finding time to sit down for it is another story...

Gaudeama: I agree 100%; In hindsight, not having romances in Awakening is probably for the best. Looked what happened in ME2...I wouldn't want Alistair to share a bench with Kaidan.

Lucy_Glitter: You'd think that being Rendon Howe's son would make him repulsive, but nooooo....the writers had to give him personality, character growth, an actual moral compass...and that voice >_<

Kerridan Kaiba: I was sure I was going to like Anders more, but look how it turned out. Funny how that works, eh?
