In ME3, jack, Thane, Jacob didn't get a romance scene (not sure if i can even call thane and jacob romances anymore). Miranda got a half backed romance scene.Zakuspec089 wrote...

In Mass Effect 2 they did, in Mass Effect 1 and 3 we couldn;t cuddle like you could with those in Mass Effect 2. The originals carcters in some ways did have more or equal. I know i'm a Liaramancer.

For the record, I didn't have any malice towards Liara until ME3...
Liara in ME2 was built up too much for her role in ME3. She had undergone a change in character from the shy archeologist to the bitter and callous information broker in her grief of losing Shepard and Feron. Truthfully, she didn't fully become callous until she lost FERON and wanted revenge on the Shadow Broker - not Shepard. We got this badass and insanely awesome DLC where Liara becomes the Shadow Broker with a ship and tons of intel and an army at her disposal. Something useful. We saw that she was going to be useful and play a huge role as much as Wrex and the Krogan in the war against the Reapers.
Then ME3 roles around. For some odd reason, the writers decided that it was more important to satisfy blue lust for fanboys then retain the integrity of Liara's story. So they essentially stripped Liara of the characterization and backbone she obviously had in ME2. And then to top that, stripped her of almost all of her resources just for the sake of having her always around the Normandy. Liara should have stayed on Hagalaz and should have taken a majority of quests given by Hackett and Traynor. Now, we can "excuse" Liara's lack of "Shadow Brokering" due to the fact that shes constantly getting resources for the Crucible and such. Unfortunately, from a story telling perspective, this doesn't work because we don't see it. We hear second-hand from her. She could be playing solitaire. This is where Liara distributing missions would play. "We need xyz for the Crucible." Eventually, I'd say we'd have a mission where Cerberus finally tracks Liara down and we have to go rescue here. Show - not tell.
Now there is also the problem of Liara's characterization that I mentioned. She was callous and ruthless in ME2 and LOTSB. Awesome. ME3 has her playing this meek shy thing barely grown from ME1. "I'm so sorry, Shepard." when talking about Earth. She sees that Garrus and Shepard aren't sitting there whining about Earth and Palaven burning to the ground and that's all she says. It's all anyone really says about it. Then we get to Thessia...the entire mission she is ****ing about Armali burning and how she can't fight Banshees. Um, everyone else seems to be doing a pretty good job fighting monsters of their own kind. Not a single human ****ed about fighting Scions in ME2. Garrus didn't say a peep about Marauders. It's rather annoying to suddenly be forced that BANSHEES are the thing that are truly horrible. After Thessia we are witness to the most pathetic display. What happened to the Liara that closes up and vows revenge when terrible things happen? She can't be callous? She let Shadow Broker troops tear up Nos Astra so she can get to the Broker. The game is obviously trying to make you feel sorry for Liara - why again? Why didn't you try to make me feel sorry for Garrus? It was pathetically transparent that Liara was painted to be a Mary-Sue. Nobody likes a Mary-Sue. It doesn't help that if one reads the notes from the Mars script where Liara makes her entrance, she's the biggest Mary Sue in the game - the way James notices the "beautiful Asari and how she notices this but is so into herself that she plays it off all flirty." Never mind the fact that Ashley has undergone a transformation herself.
The one point after Thessia with Liara was her confrontation with Javik - perfectly in character for her to lash out at him. Theres the callous and cold Liara we met in ME2. I wish that they had the Shadow Broker theme play over this scene. I'm not going to attack her on being in Shepard's quarters after his dreams because she's essentially filling in our expository role that Ashley and Kaidan played in the first game and Miranda and Jacob played in the second. It's a necessary role...

I pretty much enjoy all of the ME1 characters, especially Wrex and Garrus.Zakuspec089 wrote...
Liara wasn't in Mass Effect 2 unless you bought the DLC and she wasn't a Major Character in Mass Effect 1 the characters eeemed equal. In Mass Effect 3 though I think the original character got more.
Honestly does everyone here hate Liara and Original Mass Effect chracters? I personally thought half Mass Effect 2 characters were boring. I played Female Shepard mainly and stayed with Liara.

My Topic originally meant to tell people to Respect Liara T'Soni and it's fans. I don't like freaking debates, fighting and arguments. I hate seeing people being disrespectful to Liara and it's fans. I don't go hating on other characters or their fans. They shouldn't either.

I'd be happier if the romances were equal.Zakuspec089 wrote...
How bout you guys stop hating and being negative and just be happy you had a wonderful game series?
In my eyes when I'm reading it like everyone is being negative, not even positive. It's sad. If you want to hate and be negative make your own topic. This is not the place.

Dude your the one you making it a big deal not me. I'm just defending my opinions like what others do. Personally most of Mass Effect romances are Humans and tehre are few Aliens, there should be more Aliens for both genders beside Liara and Tali.
