You're just going to make Liara-haters hate her more. The entire problem they have with her is that her role was so much larger then any other character's role, and she's obviously THE main character next to Shepard. Everything you listed just rubs in the fact that she's so much more important then anyone else.

Fyi, I like Liara a lot and am not a hater, but I've read enough threads of Liara hate to know their stance.

That's not even because the writers like Liara the best. It's simply because all the other characters can get killed off in the previous games.

Reducing Liara's role or making her killable early on wouldn't improve the roles of other characters. That's just bonkers.

It was, in fact, Cerberus that brought Shepard back.

And the Shadow Broker who recovered the remains.

This is the guy that make me not hate Liara. His relentless and completely humiliation of Liara and the Asari in general is what makes them tolerable in my eyes. At least there is someone in the game that says what I wanted to say with my Shepard.

I didn't say I agreed, in fact I said I didn't. I was just giving their stance, seeing as they haven't showed up yet.

I would have given Liara respect if she hadn't become a writer's pet in ME3. Hell, I even started to like her after LOTSB.

The whole reason people dislike Liara is because we feel like she's being rubbed in our faces. Doing so even more isn't going to make us like her.

When you see people talking about how there should be a chance to kill her (besides the low-EMS ending where the whole galaxy burns), it's just that. A chance. I for one wouldn't actually do it, but knowing she isn't invincible would dispel much of the stink of writer favoritism that surrounds her. All we want is for her to be on equal footing with every other squadmate from the last two games. Take away the plot armor and try harder to balance content with the other squadmates (she has four required-participation missions and two bedroom break-ins), and we're golden.

She's climbin' in yo windows
Snatchin' yo Shepards up
Tryin' to r@pe 'em, so y'all need to hide yo kids, hide yo wife, hide yo kids, hide yo wife, hide yo kids, hide yo wife
And hide yo husband, cuz they rapin' erbody out here

Ashley and Kaiden in ME1? A bit, but that is because some decisions were centered around them.
.
But Jacob, Miranda and Garrus? How so? Miranda and Jacob were cerberus operatives, Miranda was the XO of the ships. All their "forced" involvement comes from that, it was never personal. They were as forced as TIM was, or Hackett.

In any event, if all you want to talk about is how good specific characters are, you should make your thread in the Character and Romance forum.

They can't; Priestly locked it after all the Miranda fans had some kind of civil war.

Nobody is trolling you. You made a thread saying people should respect Liara, and you're getting some people who are saying no, while some are giving reasons why. That's well within the topic at hand.

I do like Liara, however I will agree that in ME3 she does feel rather forced on the player. There's a reason why so many people feel this way. You said earlier that you aren't forced to interact with her and that's simply not true. There are many scenes in the game where you have to talk to her, regardless of whether you'd like to or not. She also is forced to come with you on more missions than any other character.

I don't believe people set out to hate it Liara from the beginning. The problem is the way her character was handled in ME3 has rubbed people the wrong way.

I personally think Liara is one of the best characters in the game as well.

Her relationship with Shepard is definitely one of the best in my opinion...and I don't romance her.

That being said...OP...I would just be glad that you can actually appreciate her character.

It's unfortunate...but on these forums...when you try to create a thread that respects something others seem to hate on...you will in turn get nothing but more hate in the thread you created.

So like I said...it's usually best to just be glad you like her if you want to keep the hate to a minimum.

Haters are the worst kind of people.

And Liara is the Shadow Broker. She's also relevant to the plot (for exampe the beacon dialogues).

And Talimancers (the character who is a squadmate in all three games) complaining about "Liara the writers pet" is just hilarious

Lets see now...
1.She hands you over to terrorists.
2.She does not even tell the VS what she did (plus the Council).
3.She's always chasing Shepard (even if you tell her that you want to be mates ONLY).
So yeah, Liara gets NO respect form me.
(This is coming form a guy who used to like Liara.)

A character who isn't even a romance option in the first game, who doesn't show up until halfway through ME2, and doesn't show up until the last 1/3 of ME3 being more of a writers pet then Liara? You're out of your freaking mind.
