Haha well actually I was quite disappointed in the choices in DA:2... and the fact that everyone was bi and it was really easy to give the girls the wrong impression when I was just trying to be nice...

I think it would be smart if Bioware spoke of a few past characters instead of cameos. Events that occur without even a name that would be a grin because it's obvious who it might be. Like a crushed birdcage...or some such like that.

my issue with Merrill is that i get the impression that she is designed from the get go to be this mandatory naive cute girl thats present in almost all BW games (and almost every final fantasy as well). its like BW came up with the concept of "naive+cute" and then build the character around that singular concept. and then throw in a little blood magic to add "depth" to character. imo ofc.

and Anders. stay away from DA3.

Well, Loghain. But he's dead for most people I'd imagine, so... it'd be a toss up between Morrigan or Shale. Shale's probably a lost cause being a DLC character, so I guess Morrigan.

As for someone not coming back, no-one really offended my sensibilities so much that I wouldn't want them to return or at least get a cameo.

The above is assuming a reasonably substantial appearance, not said character strolling past in the background, giving a Nicki Minaj smile and then wandering off into the alleys/shrubbery never to be seen again.

Erm...if you pick the hearts, you flirt.  If not, you don't.  Unless you ran into some bugs (like the infamous Leliana one in DA:O) it's pretty easy to avoid ninjamance.

Anders actually hits on you, regardless of your selection of Heart icons. But you can just turn him down, and he never mentions it again. You gain a little Rivalry, but it's easy to overcome.

I'd also like to see Tallis return. Not because I loved her in MotA or anything, but because I thought she deserved to be better done. A better character model and less "Mary Sue" for the character.

Actually I recall, if you choose to do any of their personal quests you gain points with them whether you are interested or not and I didn't want to raise my affinity with them so I felt I missed out on some quests.
