There's just so many I'd like to see again, and so many I'd rather not see again, I'll go with Leliana from DAO, Sigrun from the Expansion, and Bethany from DA2 as yes, and.....its easy enough to ignore characters you dont like, so this part is less relevant but.......Zevran, Oghren, and Aveline for no.
If you could pick one character..

If I had to choose someone without playing favourites (like if I couldn't choose Merrill, see my signature), I would have to say the herbalist in the Gallows, Solivitus. Not as a companion of course, just as a minor character. I've always felt like he could easily make a return, like Bodahn and Sandal or Wade and Herren. As far as major characters are concerned - someone who can't die and be retconned - I think (again without playing favourites to Merrill) Shayle the dwarf, as opposed to Shale the golem.
Someone who I don't want to see again? Cullen. Not to annoy those crazy Cullen fangirls, but because he's already been in the first two games, and if he came back, it would pain me to see an Alistair clone as a companion simply to cater to fans. If there needs to be a heart throb companion to satisfy the ladies, I would rather a new character, preferrably suave and witty (as opposed to Alistair who was playful and witty). Kind of like a cross between Zevran and Alistair, possibly with a hint of Varric.
I also don't want to see Anders, though mention of him being alive or dead, would very much receive a warm welcome from me.

Return: Flemeth, just cause I love the puppet-master archetype.
Never See Again: Oghren, Oghren and.... Oghren. I hated him so much I shouted obsenities at my screen when he popped up in DAA. But from DA2 I dont want Anders. He was so Black and White. Always so sure that he was right and the entire rest of the world was wrong. The only part with Anders I liked was his realization that he had turned into a monster and lost control of Justice just before I stab him.

See return:Morrigan/Flemeth there is much to resolve there. Sigrun or Stroud as returning Grey Wardens(again much to resolve).
Never see again:Fenris, Aveline, Oghren(1 fedora/dwarf per crew)
Only return in special DLC:Anders(My Warden steps out of Merrill's Eluvian to Advanced Reanimation his corpse only to beat it to a pile of dust.), Anora(My Warden has Shale throw her off of Fort Drakon ala FO:NV.)

Want: Leliana
Do not want: Flemeth. She's too much of a walking Deus Ex Machina for me. She might be tolerable if she has some limits on her abilities established, or she actually suffered a defeat where it wasn't implied this was all part of her plans.
I don't think Cullen is very Alistair like. Cullen believes in the Templars, Alistair doesn't. Alistair is snarky, Cullen isn't.

Return - Cullen (he has so much more to give) and Shale (I love a bit of witty sarcasm).
Dump - Oghren (annoying, very rarely used him in DA:O, unfortunately had to in Awakening). The belching just got on my nerves!
