Am I the only one that thinks the valiant is underpowered?

Or you could just use a Valiant, and not particularly care if you miss because your ROF and reload speed makes it a non-issue, never worry about recoil because you don't have any, don't even bother with reload cancelling and don't need to think about your Cloak cooldown at all.
Valiant is fine. It's a powerful yet incredibly noob-friendly sniper rifle. It doesn't need to be the best at everything.

Shield gate has never been raised, only lowered. Twice.

Good ROF, negligible recoil, crazy fast reload speed. You should be able to get headshots all day long with it. Its also light and not even all that heavy once you put the HVB on it.
Of course, mine is at VIII.

BW has way more recoil and takes much longer to reload.

It could use a buff for a promotional weapon. It's nice, just doesn't scale well with difficulty, sucks against bosses and is at least as hard, if not harder to level than the BW.
Agreed. I did the weekend challenge this morning with my Valiant V, and it's terrible against armor/bosses unless you're consistently landing headshots (in which case, you could do just as well with a number of other sniper rifles). Don't get me wrong; I love this gun for its three shots per clip, decent capacity, low recoil, and fast reload time. It has everything going for it... except, seemingly in testing, damage. I haven't used this thing on Platinum in ages because of the low damage output. It outshines all of the rare snipers, but it doesn't compare to my Indra X or Javelin (that thing's a beast on the GI in the right hands). My Black Widow's only at III and feels pretty comparable to the Valiant, so I imagine the BW will surpass the Valiant when they're both at level X.

It has a higher Sustained DPS than a B.Widow of the same level. Though a smaller Burst DPS, it's can keep firing for more damage where the B.Widow does a bigger chunk in one blast.
It's not under-powered.
Valiant X:
Burst DPS: 859.17
Sust. DPS: 571.78
Single Shot: 515.50
Full Clip: 1546.50
RoF: 100.00
Reload Time (non-RC): 0.93
B. Widow X:
Burst DPS: 923.80
Sust. DPS: 461.90
Single Shot: 923.80
Full Clip: 2771.40
RoF: 60.00

Please explain me what is

English is not my mother language and I don't know about abbreviation.

For instance: If I have 2 Platinum Banshees bearing down on me, I can stop each one from jumping around with 1 Black Widow clip each. That same feat would take the Valiant around 9 shots each and it would be alot more troublesome to stay on target longer.
I agree... it kills mooks good... so does the Locust (and the Black Widow for that matter). I'd rather take a Black Widow and a Locust... than take such a medicore boss killer... especially into a Platinum game. The gun just has no stopping power, you can't repel an enemy rush with it... I love the firing characteristics, don't get me wrong... I just want it to kill stuff faster.
Ohh and for all the people who says, "Herp Derp, you gotta headshot with it for it to be any good herp derp!" you can say that about any weapon. The Avenger is good if you headshot with it, so is the Carnifex, Incisor, Raptor, Predator, Mantis, Viper, Geth Pulse Rifle, Collector Assault Rifle and a bunch of other mediocre weapons. I shouldn't have to hit a headshot on every bullet for a N7 promotional UR weapon for it to be effective... and quite frankly, the list of weapons you HAVE to headshot with for them to be effective, is a pretty crappy list of weapons.

I haven't done the math, but how does 1 Black Widow clip stop 2 Platinum Banshees? Or maybe you're not talking about killing them...stunning them or something?
EDIT: I see; one clip each.

Also... I don't think I've ever used the Valiant on a non-infiltrator... might be worth a shot.

Trying to do the sniper challenge, and my Valiant V feels very weak compared to my Black Widow X and Javelin IX. In fact i think i did the Indra and Raptor felt easier...
