Through out the series in character creation, I've only noticed shoulder length hair... when in the mods I've seen that you can get REALLY long hair...

That is what I would like to see in the character creation for DA3... because..

if MIRANDA from Mass Effect 2 get long hair.. WHY CAN'T THE FEMALES IN DRAGON AGE 3 GET THAT? D:

Because modelling and animating hair is a ****. Making long hair fall correctly is quite difficult. That's why we did not have long hair in DA:O and DA2.

Now that we have a new engine, I suspect we might get longer hair.

I'd love to see some longer hair options but it's usually left out of a game where you can customize your character due to resources. To have long hair that doesn't clip most of the armor or clothing options in the game usually requires specific hair physics to be created and/or equipment designed to allow for it.

I'd love to be given the option to choose longer hair for my PC, but not too long because longer (or say, shoulder-length) hair already pushes practicality. I have noticed that the "longer" hairstyles in DAO look kind of weird when the PC is turning her head or things like that but it didn't bother me. DA2 did a pretty good job at... I don't know if animating is the right word... but animating the hairstyles altogether.

Apart from the option of having longer hairstyles, I'd like to see a few more hairstyles. There were a couple of options that had some semblance of curly hair in DA2, but they still missed the mark for me. I know that such a thing to ask for is shallow, but I still hope to be given the chance to give my PC a good curly hairstyle.

Long hair most of the time looks wrong. In both DA:O and DA2 long hair seemed to stand out from the character's head like an umbrella, instead of clinging to the neck of the char. It just didn't look right. Now if the hair was pulled back, or in a braid it seemed better, but as another poster said, clipping can be a problem that can destroy the illusion of hair looking natural.

The Lady uses an unique model, so they never have to worry about different armor models and how they could make her hair clip into everything.

I would only be ok with longer hair if it is no longer and awkward mop of plastic on the PCs head that contorts insanely when turning your head.

They made a nice step in having the longer hair move in some scenes and conversations, but for the most part the shorter hair still looks better.

I would really like nice long hairstyles, or at least a style that suggests long hair (like a braid, or a bun like my avatar has on the back of her head) but I'm not counting on it.

As most people say, clipping is a large problem with longer hair, that's why you only see short or shoulder length, or hair that is in a bun or some sort of high ponytail. Also, realistically, would you be running around with arse-length hair in a suit of armour swingin' a greatsword? I don't think so, lol. It could go the same way for a mage or rogue - gets in the way. Long hair, realistically, can be a pain in the arse for the developers, and their job is to make the characters look as immersive to the world as possible. Mind you modders are always one step ahead with hair mods to fulfill the wish of longer hairstyles for those who find it more pleasing. It just takes awhile 'till people find out how to mod a new game, and/or if the developers even allow it to be modified because I know some games aren't given the privilege.

Maybe BW should come out with a "fantasy pack" DLC ... includes crazy/beautiful hairstyles, outfits, etc.

Long hair was kind of a no-no in combat, because it could be used as a tactical advantage by your opponent. But I guess in a video game it's okay. So long hair for all!

I agree with you, but I'd still like to see longer hairstyles. And think about this: it's not very realistic to think we'd bother to put on lipstick, eyeshadow, blush, etc. when we're trying to save our land from darkspawn- but we're given that choice anyway.

It's not so easy for console players to mod though, and while it's easy to dismiss console players by saying "well if they were on PC they could mod to their hearts' content," it's also not very fair.

Provided the DLC was reasonably priced, this is an excellent idea.

I just got DD recently (a couple of days ago- lol), and they do! And they also have curly hair too
Their CC is absolutely perfect.

This. I've had to start over more than one character in rpgs (not just DA) cause the hair clipping thing bugged me to no end.
