Thanks my original issue is over, I finally got it to install correctly.

I reinstalled it and now I see a link called Dragon Age Origins in the start menu. Thanks for all those who read. I am not sure what happened originally or why the link didn't originally appear. Whatever the cause a reinstall made it appear now.
