So, when soloing reapers, what is the reasoning behind kiting the Banshees instead of just killing them, given that they have the highest spawn-budget cost? <_<
(Honestly, I'd rather have 4 Banshees on the map than than 4 Ravagers... ugh, Ravagers

I'm guessing the real threat of instakills, and also when you're focusing on killing a Banshee, it never seems to be the Banshee that kills you, but the Marauders that are flanking you.

You kite bosses so you can kill mooks so they take up the spawn budget so take your choice= Lots of mooks coming like 4 at a time or 4 banshees.

Well as a kroguard I'd just tank them on the stairs on Giant, (near in the back of the control room) and finish'em off, but otherwise... Well, killing ravagers is easy, but make one mistake vs a Banshee and you're toast.

I always thought, are the banshees pregnant?
They have poity bellys...

It's already been said.
I find it enjoyable because there's a risk that you might just f*ck up and get insta-killed. But usually the kits I rock melt 'em down inside of 15 seconds. But usually it's to keep things from getting out of control with enemy spawns.

Banshees are actually angry alcoholics. It all makes sense. The screaming, the fast movement, the particularly ugly features and their aggression.
It's science.

Hmm, I find that when I'm trying to run away from the banshees, that's when I get caught off guard by the ravager sniping through some 2cm gap in the cover, or a marauder... since the Banshees come after me and move quite quickly, I can lead them into a somewhat closed off area where there aren't any other mobs...
I guess I should just try it and see how it goes...

I think the best map for soloing Reapers is Giant. I kite the Banshees. I play Fury, so Ravagers are not a problem for me. I just hit them with Dark Channel and forget about them. When I see them go down in the kill feed (about 30 seconds maybe), then I know I can Dark Channel something else. In the meantime, I run around and kill mooks. For Brutes, I DC them, shoot a few times with incendiary rounds, hit them with Throw, which sets off a fire explosion, and immediately another Throw to set off the BE. I then leave them alone because in a few seconds, DC will finish them off. Like someone else said, it's best to deal with the Banshees last, because while you're concentrating on them, that's when you get hit by Marauders and Ravagers, which can be fatal.

Because, while Banshees have the highest cost, they have low cost per hit point e.g. a brute has 1/2 the total hitpoints (used to be 1/3) of a Banshee but is worth 70% of the spawn budget cost of a banshee. Marauders can be killed in one claymore headshot (w/o any passives/bonuses etc) but are worth 35% of the spawn budget cost of a banshee (which has like 8 times as many hitpoints and get's a 1.4x instead of 2.5x headshot multiplier.)
Also Brutes and Ravagers don't have a barrier to recover.

I generally do so because I find Banshees the least dangerous of all the Reaper enemies. Besides their annoying, sometimes invisible warp balls, if you keep a good distance from them, they can't do anything to you.
Ravagers: It is often hard to tell where you are being shot from, and their 3-shot volley will take down most characters on gold.
Marauders: Elbow of doom and Phaeston CVLXIII, need I say more?
Cannibals: Grenades, the indicator really needs to be more clear
Husks: Can hug you while other things kill you
Brutes: ...
And I don't know the specifics of spawn budgets, but I do believe that it is the most efficient way of going about it.

Try running upto the ravagers and shoot them at point blank. Really, stand right against them. Just make sure to dodge out of the goo the second you kill them.regack wrote...

It's odd, but after doing that a few times you'll gladly waste the spawn budget on more Ravagers, while racing around the map killing everything but the Brutes and Banshees. Well, maybe take out a brute or two when you get the chance.
