For my first Insanity run I relied on Adrenaline Rush, carrying only an AR and a pistol. I've been wanting to say cooldown be damned and kit myself out with a full load of weapons.

Has anyone tried playing like this?

It works really well.  Equip the HK armor and take Shepard's weapon damage passive and your weapons will put out a LOT of damage.  And as AR is no where near as strong as it was in 2, your won't notice a huge difference in not using it.

But I am going to take a second here to say how much I hate the weight system.  It's a cool idea but the way it was implemented sucks.  For soldier at least.  ME2 was nice because it let you use your powers to compliment your guns.  In ME3 if you want to use all the guns a soldier did in 1 and 2, then you can't use your powers as effectively or very often at all.  However, if your on PC you can mod your coaleseced file to give your self a static cool down bonus and then play like your did in 2.  Just DO NOT play MP with the modded coaleseced as the changes will affect your game and you can be banned for it.

Anyways back on topic, a soldier specced for full weapon damage carrying all the heavy, uber weapons will work very well in ME3.

Yes, I ran Vindicator, Katana, Carnifex and Viper on my Cryo Soldier.   I still used Adrenaline Rush, but for basics I usually used Concussive Shot with Amplification.

You can take a full load and still have a good cool down it just depends on which weapons and if you like that load out, but I did avenger, disciple, heavy pistols, smg with a100% + cooldown ,I have changed it up some with minor changes and had a cool down 70 -85%+ which is still good cool down for AR use

Tried. Can. Ahem.
Well, that's the only way how I played: full complement of guns and no active abilities usage. Prefered set: Valiant/Indra, Mattock/Falcon, Phalanx/Scorpion, Crusader/Scimitar/GPS, Shuriken/Tempest/Locust. Prefered Ammo - Incendiary explosive. Second fav - Armour-piercing, penetrative. SMGs mostly for shield/barrier-stripping roles, since, well they deprived us from distributing thermal clips as we see fit and I need to save ammo for other guns. Armour - Hahne-Kedar or Cerberus. Main gun - Valiant, since he blurs differencies between narrative and insanity.

From what i heard, as long as you don't alter MP specific stuff, bioware doesn't care, the only stuff i have altered in the file is SP specific stuff, as in, stuff that doesn't even come into play in MP and i haven't had any issues, but then again, i haven't altered the weight system before, but then again, the MP is so meh, i never really bother with it anyway.
