I added a small section to the first post on how to perform this (and almost modified some of the sections to point to this method when it is required) :

3.1.5. Run the CMD or Command as administration (Windows Vista & 7) if you encounter problems with some of this FAQ sections

Sometimes you might get permissions error or access errors when using the CMD or Command Line in some of the sections from this FAQ.

In these times, use this method to make sure you run the CMD as an administrator to have the rights to perform the installations/uninstallations/deletions/etc...

Finally...after moving my 'My Documents' folder again (3rd time's a charm!) and restarting the service it found and downloaded the content. What a pain in the arse.

Okay,with restarting the DAUpdater manually again,the Warden's keep is also in the list of downloadable content.But how can i start the download itself??I have redeemed the codes,cause they show up in my players profile??

I'm taking a break for now and I'm not sure about your idea.. I know I have severals sections that could fix that. Especially 3.3.1.

You have nothing to lose by trying 3.1.3.1. and 3.1.3.2.

I added a bunch of general troubleshooting in the last 2 pages of the thread with stuff about your issue. You could also read the thread, some people came up with different takes on my methods. Everyone has a different computer and differents settings. Kind of a nightmare to take care of EVERY possibilities.

Check my previous post. Like I said I also added more infos in the latest 2 pages and on the first page.

Let me tell you, it's a pain to edit because each time I edit the first post or just visit the EDIT without changing anything, it adds a bunch of \\\\\\\\ on each path.

I wonder if the lack of replies from Bioware to this topic or the multitude of topics being created on these issues is  because they are working on a patch and/or a tool to do these things with a few single clicks.

I installed Stone Prisoner and The 3 special itiems (with some difficulty) but when blood dragon armor was at 100% and was reading as Downloaded it was stuck. After I quit the game and came back on it was gone from everywhere, even on the list of already installed content. Ive been tryng make it appear but i couldent complete step 4 and 5 becuse the files arent in the folder there supposed to be in.

I know a lot of people will be shouting out very LOUD,but just give us evrything through a patch...They did the same thing with AoC,when people preodered the game they received some items.Not very long after they gave the same items to everyone

You mean where the game was installed?

Steam version should be something like this : 

Windows XP : c:\\Program Files\\Steam\\steamapps\\common\\Dragon age origins\\
Windows Vista and 7 : c:\\Program Files(x86)\\Steam\\steamapps\\common\\Dragon age origins\\

Unless you put it somewhere else.

One more 'thank you' from me. Of course I should have remembered to run DAO as admin, like every time you want to do something in Vista. But anyway, this thread seems really good and loaded with good troubleshooting info all in the same place. Good job!

Hmm. Mine seemed to download, but the quests won't show up. I have the armor and stuff. But when I talk to the guy for the Keep nothing happens, and the Shale quest never shows up.

I think there may have been a problem with the actual install. so I set everything to adminstrator, but now I don't know how to get rid of the DLC I already have downloaded. I deleted the Manifest and DAUpdater folder like you said, but that didn't change anything and the problem presists. Any more help would be greatly appricated.

You could try doing 3.3.1 again like you just mentioned, but with a little twist.

Once you cleared the Manifest and DAUpdater, locate this folder.. mind you I'm using the default settings (I also don't have access to a Windows Vista or 7 so I'm going from memory): 

Windows Vista : C:\\Users\\.YourUsername\\Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\AddIns\\

Delete the content of AddIns

Try again.

Sadly my problem is there was a hiccough in their system and it's caused problems meaning I can't even log into the account I activated my DLC on

Can you log here on social.bioware.com and not in the game (using the same e-mail and password obviously?)

If yes try changing your password on this social website. You might have a special character in the password.

no no,the application data folder where i need to delete the DAUpdater?it should be according to you in documents and settings by all users,but i don't seem to have that...

or is the same path that Steam uses?So Common slash DAO slash data??

It says i get redeem codes for Shale and Dragon Blood armor, Where do i go or who do i email Talk to about getting these codes ? This is getting rediculous i bought it and it says right on the back of the box Comes with Shale and Dragon blood now where are my codes ?

You say you bought retail, do you mean a boxed copy? if so it should be right in there in front of the manuel on a little paper insert.

Thanks for writing this guide I got it working by setting the game executable to always run as administrator and unclicking "edit protection" on my documents folder (I'm running swedish OS not sure what it's called in english).

Yes i bought a retail copy boxed it came with 1 Redeem code for (helm/staff/book) its the Collectors Edition. I did happen to receive a redeem code for Warhammer items instead however.

so i got off the phone with EA and they say that they apologize for the inconveience and want me to send in my copy and theyll send me back a new copy . OH great fantastic so a boxing error on there part and i pay for the shipping. I had heard stories about dealing with EA and so far up until this point i had never had any issues but this is complete bull****. Digital downloads are getting there codes emailed to them i dont see how difficult it is to simply yank one of those and send it my way.
