Recently purchased 2 pieces of DA:O content. Neither are being authorised. I assume this is due to the servers being stupid.

Just in case anyone needed a message from the Obvious Brigade, I think this is fixed now. It is for me, anyway.
Thanks for the turn-around, BW.

And they can't understand why people pirate <_<
Glad my main hasn't been connected to the internet for a long time. What a ridiculous incident.

The fix worked for me. Dragon Armor was intact, and I was able to start and complete one of the DLC missions without any trouble.DaNaTaRi wrote...
changing addins.xml authorization from "1" to "0" causes you to lose your blood dragon armor. A DLC that I paid for by the way.
i did this and lost the armour and shale from my party

MANY MANY MANY Thanks for this in depth guide. I was rooting around with installutil for a few hours before the game started downloading it by itself. FYI I believe my problem had to do with having both DA:Origins and the Ultimate pack installed.

2 weeks to become aware, identify, and fix the problem. That is reasonable.
Nobody says anything when they are happy, so I figured I'd say I'm happy with EA/BioWare's work on this one.

Thanks you!! Like everyone else, it seems, my DLC was showing up as unauthorized and I was unable to load prior saved games. After much reading and frustration, I found your thread and followed your input. As I had already done many of the suggestions, I headed to Section 3.22. I pulled up the listing of programs, and found "Dragon Age: Origins - Content Update". I couldn't start it as it was DISABLED. This made no sense as this program manages all the DLC. I changed it to Automatic, ran it, and voila - all is well again!.
Greatly appreciate the help!

Had Shale, worked happily, Servers went stupid, now I can't find him in any saves. Apparently Shale is in the Camp (x marks the spot), when I go there, nothing to find. Been to Honnleath, he's not there either. DLC Installed and enabled.
DAU is automatic and started.

Thanks. This post gave me a place to start.
Section 4.0 should be updated with all DLC as it is a pain trying to figure out the naming convention if you do not have the files. Perhaps a browsable list of all content?
Note when I downloaded the files they were downloaded as zip files had to change the file extension to .dazip to use daupdate.exe.
If all this is controlled by xml could the xml file(s) not be altered directly to avoid having to run all this stuff manually?
Just a thought.
Thanks Again

FYI, if you bought a downloaded version of the Ultimate Edition game through Amazon or some other online retailer, I am told it may be the download which is corrupted. If you have registered the game with a valid activation key, EA tech support (tier 2) may be willing to provide you with a new (clean) download. However, you will have to uninstall the entire game - losing all your save files in the process.

Does anybody have a link to the feast day .dazip? I tried dealing with customer service and they are wholly incompetent. Purchased DLC is showing up as not purchased. This is honestly completely ridiculous.

Clients with Unresolved DLC Issues - Dragon Age: Origins
If you have spent time, money, and effort trying to get your DLC working, have tried all the best advice on the forums and contacted tech support at least once about this issue and still have no working solution, this is your place to "stand up and be counted."
This is the first group I have created in the forums, so please be patient while I learn the ropes. If you have helpful advice, I am all ears; please send me a message.

Just spent half the night trying to figure this out. Thanks for the guide, had to run DAO as admin, and manually install, then start the updater service as Admin, too.

Great Post! Well done!
I had no problems installing or downloading the dlc. The extremely easy, straightforward steps were smooth and fast with minimal checks to verify that the files were valid and not pirated. (Win7 is probably why)
The extremely simple DRM that Bioware used in this game was welcomed and appreciated. I would prefer that they keep pirating down and quality high. I can't help but think that a few (not all!) of the people that had problems with it, may have downloaded some pirated DLC or files, and don't understand how to get it to get past the DRM.
BTW, I have seen a few posts on the forums and other sites about how people complain that they don't want to log in every time they go to play. You never have to log in after you register the disk and DLC. Yes, it asks you to, just simply hit cancel and play without ever logging in. I have never had to log in past the original registration. I do only to update my social.bioware page from time to time.
