Exellent job with this guide. All my content was unauthorized
after a reinstall. Thanks to your guide I saw that daupdater was missing in  services.msc . Installing with cmd didn't work, cmd was complaining over a missing net file, but your little trick with copy installutil.exe into bin_ship folder and drag daupdater into it worked perfect.
All my content is back. everything is working perfect now.:wizard: :) :o :whistle:

How can i get my money back? I bought this game on steam and refuse to pay for a game that doesnt work or a game that i have to spend hours upon hours fixing the problems myself. I paid for a finished product, does the game industry not have any policies in palce to prevent crap like this?

You are on a peer support forum, not official EA support. You can try to contact official EA support, but they have refused to refund anyone in the past. Feel free to try, however--support.EA.com.

I have a problem where i cant access the DLC. It says Unauthorized even though i put in the DLC. What is up with this?

So i am having the unauthorized DLC issue on my Gaming rig, it is not happening on the PC i first installed the game on (my work laptop) has any one had this issue before? Can the DLC only be authorized for one computer?

DLC is linked to your EA login- not your computer. As stated several times in this thread, it is not the place to ask questions. You should check 1) the solutions round-up thread pinned to the top of this forum. THere are multiple causes for unauthorized DLC. 2) If you need help with one of those solutions, see the read first thread also pinned to the top of this forum for posting instructions. 3) If you cannot authorize your DLC using one of the manual solutions linked in the solutions round-up thread, try the 1.05 beta patch. It fixes all authorization issues, but can cause long load times and some have had issues with Blood Dragon Armor disappearing.

Took a bit of reading but finally got all my DLC to authorized.

I still ocassionally have to manually start the updater. Hopefully a fix for that will be released soon.

I installed some DLC adventures using the "stand-alone" .exe downloads rather than the .dazip downloads. Now, that same DLC is showing up in DA:O as available for download, even though they are already installed and also showing up in the "installed" tab.

Stopping the updater service, renaming manifest.xml and restarting the service fixed it.

I do not know why this code is appearing below my post. I have edited it out and it just comes back.

I am unable to conect to the EA server from inside the game and so I cant authenticate my DLC. Is there a way to do this offline?

I had several problems with DLC files after I uninstalled Dragon Age Origins (Original) and then installed Dragon Age Ultimate (to get Awakenings and DLC content). The first problem was that DAU wouldn't install, and EA Support finally gave me a digital download copy through the "Store.Origin.com" web site (took 10 hours to download). The second problem (once the new DAU was installed) was that all the DLC files were listed as "Unauthorized". I got the "Unauthorized" DLC's to work in a round-about way, but I think the real fix for this is below. The third problem was that many of the DLC files would not work in the game itself:

1. "Blood Dragon Armor" did not work (no armor in inventory)
2. "Feastday Gifts" and "Feastday Pranks" did not work (nothing in Bodahn's inventory)
3. Soldier's Peak would not show up on map after conversation with Levi.

EA Support told me they just got a new circular (11/19/11). Go to Dragon Age/_Installer (in "Programs" folder - not your "Documents" folder) and then click on DAUServiceSetup.exe (run it). Then, re-start your game. As soon as I re-loaded the game, there were a series of "New Quest" information blurbs that popped up (all the stuff that did not work before). Maker be praised.

Patch 1.05 is now live and designed to resolve DLC authorisation problems, if your DLC are not authorising it's worth trying the patch first to see if that sorts things.

 Please, can someone help me with this? I recently bought the Ultimate edition of Dragon
Age: Origins, which comes with a serial number for downloading all of the
downloadable contents. The problem is, although i bought the game four days
ago, the serial number referent to the DLCs expired on July 30 2011, as it says
on the flyer that came inside the game box... I already sent an e-mail to
suporte3@ea.com (support e-mail of EA in Brazil), contacted the distributor
here in Brazil (I got no reply from neither) and searched for an e-mail contact
in the official site of EA (My surprise: there was none!).  Please, can someone tell me the official
e-mail contact of EA support, or give me an answer on how to handle this and
get a new serial number?

This isn't really the right thread for this but have you actually tried to use the codes? Sometimes the dates on the fliers are misleading so it's worth keying the codes in just in case they work.

If you've already tried that (and they didn't work) then you can get hold of EA support via their official site here.

Thank you sooo much. This was the only help I could find for my several consecutive issues in getting the game to install right, getting the Updater to exist at all, getting it to run, and then getting the DLC to download properly, and then install. 2 days later, I believe I may have the game ready to run the way it should. (Except for some intermittent crashing, but that's another issue entirely). Anyway, thank you, thank you!!
