My Daupdater service is not working either, I am running windows 7 64bit. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, but it still does not start.
When I try to run the "daupdater.exe" in the game directory, it says that the application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000135).
I do however have my "My documents" folder on the C: drive, while Dragon age is on the D: drive. How do I redirect them?

Cannot seem to find the application data folder either.Have the DDE through Steam...
You mean where the game was installed?
Steam version should be something like this :
Windows XP : c:\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\Program Files\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\Steam\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\steamapps\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\common\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\Dragon age origins\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
Windows Vista and 7 : c:\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\Program Files(x86)\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\Steam\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\steamapps\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\common\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\Dragon age origins\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
Unless you put it somewhere else.
no no,the application data folder where i need to delete the DAUpdater?it should be according to you in documents and settings by all users, but i don't seem to have that...
or is the same path that Steam uses?So Common slash DAO slash data??
Which Windows version do you have?
I think your hidden files are.. well hidden.
Windows XP :
To see hidden files:1.On the Tools menu in Windows Explorer, click Folder Options. 2.Click the View tab. 3.Under Hidden files and folders, click Show hidden files and folders.
Windows Vista or Windows 7
http://www.bleepingc...utorial130.html
With this enabled, you should see the "All User" user.. and then access the DAUpdater folder you need to delete.

also just a heads up. Redownloaded and still now working. Gonna put in an offical ticket with EA when I get home from work. Thanks for all the help though
Ah bummer...
Access the game laucher. Click Configure... and I only skimmed the thing yesterday but you should have an option to Clear Cache somewhere.
So exit the game, try this and then restart the game.

so i got off the phone with EA and they say that they apologize for the inconveience and want me to send in my copy and theyll send me back a new copy . OH great fantastic so a boxing error on there part and i pay for the shipping. I had heard stories about dealing with EA and so far up until this point i had never had any issues but this is complete bull****. Digital downloads are getting there codes emailed to them i dont see how difficult it is to simply yank one of those and send it my way.
Wow indeed! I could understand taking a picture of everything with someone in the frame they asked for to prove it's your taking the picture and you own the game. Those are free items it's not like they'll lose money if they give you one.
Hmm yeah maybe have a proof of purchase so you don't get 2000 exploiters calling!
Shipping the game back is kind of wrong, you also used the registration code for the game itself and it's linked to this account. It would cost more money to do this.
I say call again or send an e-mail explaining your situation + this latest answer from them. You might get someone more willing to help.

why is it that when I run my updater it asks me to load a DAZIP file?
dauptater.exe doesn't need to usually be used by itself. I think the Dragon Age Origins : Content Updater service uses daupdater.exe to extract the DLC. They indeed come in dazip formant.

Did you try step 3.2.1 ? And then following the instructions guiding you thru a few more steps?
I'm pretty sure if you run the file dauptader.exe when the real service is not running (or not installed) will give you some kind of error.

I believe my issue is caused by AddIns.xml. I noticed in a log file that it has a problem with AddIns.xml. That file is 1kb for me and I cannot open it. Is there anyplace I can get the file from? I have now spent over 43 hours trying all the fixes on the Bioware social site and there are no fixes listed here. Please send me the AddIns.xml file to see if that fixes the issue. I will be happy to update you on the issue. I can play the game without the Addin content, but that seems like a waste of money, since I paid for the content.
Try 3.3.1 with a twist. Don't just delete Manifest.xml. Rename all the .xml (so you don't lose them just in case) and then continue with the 3.3.1 steps.
It should recreate all these files. Also I'm not on my computer, game is not installed here.

Thanks! This thread led me down the right path to fixing my DLC.
I needed to upgrade my .NET framework from v1 to v2. I was then able to manually start to updater.
Yes I tried that, it kept saying that the service would not start on local computer.HemisH wrote...

I made myself admin and the Grimoire shows up and the quest to go to some place related to the Stone Prisoner (I looked that up). Am I good to go? I also purchased the Keep, but that doesn't give me a quest when I start the game. Is that correct?
That I can't say. I have the Keep and Stone Prisoner also and I only have one Premium Content quest.
All my DLC are listed without errors under the Installed tab from the DLC menu in Dragon Age.
Make sure the Keep DLC is listed there for you as well. I'm not far in the game so I don't know how any of the DLC that don't show in your inventory are found in the actual game.

Last night, I had Dragon Age installed just fine. I'm using Steam, by the way. The Warden's keep was taking FOREVER to download, though, so I played without it. It failed downloading twice, but eventually it hit 100% and attempted to extract.
This crashed my system. Three times.
I decided there must have been something wrong with the download, but I wasn't sure how to fix it, so I uninstalled Dragon Age, and then reinstalled it, moving Steam to my other hard drive (as C is getting far too full).
Now when I start Dragon Age, it shows my Collecter Edition, my Stone Prisoner, and something else (the memory band, I think), as "Unauthorized", and Warden's Keep and the Stone Prisoner show up as things I can buy, despite the fact that my online account shows that I already have them. I've tried deleting Manifest and the DAUpdater folder found in Program data, but nothing has changed. I SUSPECT the problem lies in the fact that my documents folder is on another hard drive, given that this gives other people problems, but I don't see how I can fix that other than moving Steam back, and I'd really rather not do that.
Any suggestions?

Edit: I am still waiting for my Memory Band and Wolf Charm by the way

Easiest thing to do is click your Start Menu, Windows Update (or Microsoft Update). This will scan your Windows for updates. You can then show the list of available downloads and select the .Net Framework versions if they didn't add them to the Critical Updates.

Do you mind redownloading the DLC? The Keep and Stone Prisoner total something like 800 megs together. If you don't mind, the easier way would be to do 3.3.1 like you did but add a twist. Let me paste something I wrote for someone else on a previous page :
You could try doing 3.3.1 again like you just mentioned, but with a little twist.
Once
you cleared the Manifest and DAUpdater, locate this folder.. mind you
I'm using the default settings (I also don't have access to a Windows
Vista or 7 so I'm going from memory):
Windows Vista : C:\\\\Users\\\\\\\\YourUsername\\\\Documents\\\\BioWare\\\\Dragon Age\\\\AddIns\\\\
Delete the content of AddIns
Try again.
Windows XP would be somewhere like : c:\\\\Documents and Settings\\\\YourUsername\\\\My Documents\\\\Bioware\\\\Dragon Age\\\\Addins\\\\
Or just access your My Documents folders like you usually do. BioWare\\\\Dragon Age\\\\AddIns\\\\ should be in there.
Edit : Make sure you're correctly logged in game too.

Provide me with this :
I will need these things so I can tell you exactly what to try :
The complete path to DAUpdaterSvc.Service.exe
The complete path to installutil.exe
Double click on your service in the Services window and tell me the path of the executable
Your version of Windows[/list]
I will try to give you exactly what to type.

I really don't mind. I figured I would have to anyway, hence why I uninstalled everything.
However, this solution doesn't work. I deleted what you suggested, and all I get is an empty download screen. I went for broke and deleted everything, and still get bubkis. Mind you, when I go back, I find new files, so it clearly isn't having trouble finding my documents folder.
I'm gonna hunt through the beginning of your FAQ and see if there's a fix to address my empty downloads window and see if that fixes it.

EDIT:
Also, the DLC's show up as authorized so long as I do not log into my account, but I do not see them on the world map. I do not even get the steam exclusive items either, though I get the grimoire of the northern lands (or something like that) and the blood dragon armor.
