Edit: I got the codes registered and the downloads now appear to be up and running, although so far they have not registered any download progress.

I know that this is repetitive, but my Dragon Amoure download works in the game, but I cannot seem to get the shale one to work. It is dowloaded, installed, and activated. Is there something else I am missing to get it to work in the game?

It took a little time and tinkering but following the steps HemisH posted I was finally able to get all of the items. A huge thank you my man, EA owes you big time.

I just got my DLC working after wrestling with this for 2 days, this FAQ/thread was the only place that had all the info in one spot. I submitted support requests both here and through EA, but didn't get so much as a peep out of them despite saying that there would be a response within 24 hours.

Anyway, the last two things I tried seem to have done the trick for me... my install is Steam's Digital Deluxe Collector's edition running on Win7 Ultimate 64bit. I tried all the steps outlined previously with no luck. A few pages back, someone mentioned changing the Log On properties for the DA Origins updater from "Local System account" to my own... don't remember who suggested it otherwise I'd give credit. The other fix that I did which may or may not have been significant was to go into regedit and find the key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Wow6432Node\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Uninstall\\Steam App 17450

the key's name is NoRepair and looks to be related to some Steam uninstaller info... by default it is set to 1 so I had the theory that it might be preventing the "clear download cache" in the configuration tool from working, and I set it to 0.

Lastly, I removed any traces I could find of the Dragon Age Charactor creator app, I think it left behind a config file in the "Settings" folder. Since I have the full version of the game, there's no reason to keep it as I have the associated gift item, and can create characters with the full version. Not sure if this helped get the DLCs going, but I'm mentioning it just in case.

Despite having been so helpful to so many people, I'm surprised HemisH's thread is not yet stickied.

1053 error - I was getting this until I changed the service logon from LocalSystem to my user account. I don't think it's .NET. I now have all my DLC bar Stone Prisoner and Warden's Keep.

How did you do that?

I found out, but now it won't start because of error code 1069: The service did not start due to a logon failure.

I chose the right logon :s

Yep, I created a password for my account to see if that did anything. It did, because now I no longer get the error 1069 because of wrong user, now I just get the good old error 1053 *rolls eyes*

Damn this forum server / software! New posts take 10 years to show up :grrr:

Is your user account an Administrator? From a command prompt, type "net user your_username"

Near the bottom of the output should be a line:

Local Group Memberships      *Administrators

i have a problem, it might have something to do with the servers... i could not install any of the add ons, my computer finds them, i have redeemed my codes, but when i log in to the updater in game, it logs me on and says it cannot connect to the servers... i thought i might have been to blame so i performed all of the steps in the faq and still nothing. are the servers down and if so when can i expect them to be up? i honestly hope this is my fault so i can fix it and don't have to wait for anything but i can't think of anything else to do...

properly redeemed my codes but could not get past logging into the downloader to receive my ad ons. i followed all steps in the faq and still nothing. i keep getting a message saying i cannot connect to the servers, is this my fault? no one else seems to be having trouble, i haven't got any fire wall warnings or anything. what do i need to do to dl these expansions? it's getting pretty frustrating...

Running the game on Windows XP, got the regular edition on DVD and the DLC just won't work. It only shows the Prisoner and the Blood Dragon Armor, but they haven't gotten past the downloadign stage and never actually get to the installed stage and have a habit to revert to 0% downloaded when I restart the game even if they were fully downloaded before. However that only happens sometimes...

I tried everything on this thread and the DAUpdaterService seems to be up and running, but it's not really helping me any...

So my Memory Band promo code won't even redeem. I just get "Unable to redeem code". Has this been touched upon or a known issue, or am I maybe SOL due to a broken code?

There was a Bioware post a few pages back saying they were working on server capacity and that we might need to be patient at times with download performance. If you have successfully downloaded the smaller items (ie. all except Stone Prisoner and Warden's Keep) this might apply.

I put in the codes on Tuesday and while they show up on my profile here, they are not showing up to download in the game. Is there a reason for this?

I just can't wrap my head around why this isn't working. I've gone through each and every step in this guide carefully. Always making sure I'm logged in, with the right account, and my only account I might add. Stopped the updater, restarted it, installed it. I don't have a Manifest.xml, I (for some otherworldly reason) don't have an All Users folder. It worked for the first 5 minutes yesterday, All DLC as well. Then they went on to say that my account wasn't authorized to access the content. So I reinstalled, that was a big mistake from what I can gather.

I almost feel like doing a clean reinstall of Windows just so I can play this damned game that I've been looking forward to for what seems like forever.

I don't really mean to be whiny about it. I just wish it would work so this massive headache I've got could clear before my brain starts bleeding.

Having some trouble keeping up and I'm back home so I want to try playing the game a bit! Only 3 hours in hehe.

A lot of the questions that come can be fixed or at least troubleshooted from the first post. I even repeatdly told the same thing to different people to point them on which steps / section to use. Since I'm taking a small break, i STRONGLY urge to read the normal pages of this discussion. Chances are you will spot someone saying the same thing : "I tried X and Y" and I then point them to some instructions from the first post. Sometimes it fixes their issue, sometimes they come back and I made them take additional steps that could also help you.

Sorry people! I'll be back later or tomorrow.

I just wanted to offer up thanks from me and my son -- we were able to download the CE, Shale and Blood Armor; but the items never installed.  We are running Windows 7 and purchased the game from Amazon.

Once we followed the steps to clear the Updater, everything re-downloaded and installed perfectly.

Thanks to HemisH for the work in compiling and posting these fixes.

Ran into the "Download Stuck" issue. Win7 Home
Removing the Manifest and the DAUpdater folder (Step 7) worked for me. The DLC is downloading now, albeit very slowly.

Do the same thing with

installutil /u "D:\\Program Files\\Dragon Age\\bin_ship\\DAUpdaterSvc.Service.exe"

this should uninstall it. If you get no error messages, do exactly what you did in the log you posted. No errors should pop up.

At this point, do 3.2.2

Start the game test it out.

I've attempted all the fixes from the first post of this thread and still nothing yet.

My DLC (The lucky stone and the stone prisoner) appears in the game download tab, however it sits at 0%. I keep seeing the mesage: "A server error occured while trying to access your online profile storage" and i'm not sure whats causing it. Anyone know what it might be?

Update************************

If you are getting the "error code 5: invalid access" problem when trying to start the daupdater service. try this.

This is for vista

go to the run bar and type in services, right click and open as admin.

then find the dragon age service once more right click and hit properties

for logon click "this account" then click the browse option and type in your name click cheack name make sure its your login name then press ok.

under your login name enter your password and confirm it press ok and it should give you a pop up saying that you have log on rights or something like that.

then right click and start the proccess

worked for me!
