Ah, I will also note: I am having this problem specifically on XP. Even though this says 7... Well, I'm hoping it will work, too. Just wanted to chime in that the problem is indeed on more than one OS.

Hmm ok, I was doing the commands wrong that was my problem(I don't know why but I was typing cb instead of cd). Ok so the uninstall went fine and was successful, however the install did not.



"An exception occurred during the install phase.

System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception: The specified service has been marked for deletion"

No - in that case you will want to follow the steps present in the first post in this thread.

Wait a few minutes and then try the install command again. If it doesn't work, reboot the computer and then try.

Um ok, I think for some reason the uninstall was still going through, I just tried again and the install portion seemed to work just fine. I'm trying the other steps now.

Perfect. Started the service, Opened the game, all my stuff downloaded and installed. Thanks for the info on starting the service I never would have thought it wouldn't start automatically when the game needed it. bug me thinks.

Joy all around! Phoenix and I certainly went through pretty much all the services step anyone will ever need if they have an issue similar to yours, which was sligthy different than my intented original fix but still was about the Updater service.

Nice, now it worked for me too. Just one thing though, I see all my Deluxe stuff downloading but then how do I install them? Some, under installed tab even says ''unothaurized'' >.>

If it says unauthorized it means the service is probably not running. It seems the game doesn't always start the service when you launch it. You should just have to quit and start the service again.

At least that's what fixed it for me.

Ha, your right ShPhoenix I had to start the service again and its back to normal, thanks! As for the the content under ''downloading tab'', how do I enable/install it? As of right now under downloading tab I got : Warden Keep (100%), Blood Dragon Armor (100%) and The Stone Prisoner (stuck at 0%). Under my installed tab, I got: Collector Edition the Wicked Oath and Memory Band.



So I guess, my question really is: How do I enable stuff under the downloaded tab once they are completed?

Big big thanks for this post.  I wasn't having exactly the same problems (it was downloading but not installing DLC), but stopping the service and deleting the files you listed seemed to do the trick to get it to redownload and install.

If you're problem is the same as I was having with the redirected folder issue this is what I did:



I right clicked on my documents in windows explorer and changed the location back to default, I told it NOT to copy my files, I then copied my 'Bioware' folder from my old 'my documents' location to the default location c:\\\\users\\\\\\\\my documents.



I also followed all the ops suggestions, using the configuration tool to clear cache, checking to make sure my service was starting in taskmgr etc etc.



Seemed to all work after that.

You're having the problem that first post talks about - the downloads just sort of sit there and don't really do anything. Basically go back to that post and follow the steps there with the manifest file and such and you should be good. (Yes you will have to redownload the stuff again - items that have already been installed will not need to be reinstalled however).

A note to people having difficulties with the command prompt:



You can simply drag the daupdatersvc.service.exe file and drop it onto the installutil.exe in the v2.0.50727 directory and it will install, or it should as it did for me.

My content now downloads fine, but will not install. I have thought about what has been said and I now think that the reason my content is downloaded and extracted, but won't install has to do with the location of where it wants to put the files. Any thoughts on how to point the program and where to put the files. I am using steam and Windows 7. Everything is turned off and admin priv. are being used. Any additional thoughts.
