Okay, so I glanced through the thread (43 pages is a lot!) and I'm not seeing anyone getting quite the same error as me. I'm in the category of having nothing show up on any of my downloadable content windows, despite having successfully redeemed a code for Stone Prisoner (I checked that by going to the social.bioware.com user entitlements link). I've changed the service to automatically start, stopped it and restarted it, made sure it was an exception in my firewall, tried disabling both the firewall and my antivirus, and none of that has helped. I then moved onto the manual uninstall/reinstall step with the .NET framework commands, but here's what I get whenever I try it:

Exception occurred while initializing the installation:
System.Configuration.ConfigurationErrorsException: Configuration system failed to initialize.

So apparently it's not letting me uninstall and thus reinstalling isn't possible either. Has anyone come across this before?

EDIT: Oh right, forgot to add - I'm using Windows XP SP3 as my OS.

Does this "fix", if you can call it that, mean that I can continue and, eventually, rebuy the Blood Dragon equipment that I lost when applying this method to get a fix for my game?  If so I can just start again with my previous save that I tried it on just after the Dwarf Origins starting quest and lost nothing with.  That's my main concern.

Newbie question.... I purchased the DVD. Created my character. Watched the intro video. I'm at the first screen of the tutorial (I think). It says: Tutorial: Tactical View :"The game can be played from a variety of tactical viewpoints. Use the mouse wheel to bring your camera down to exploration mode (Scroll forward)." So.. I understand the concept... but nothing happens when I move my mouse wheel. The mouse software is up to date. Am I missing something?

I just bought Dragon Agr Origins for PC. I have a complaint or problem with it. I am playing it on my laptop. I have a couple of other games installed (Sid Mierers Civilization & CivCity Rome) and they play fine. But Dragon Age plays very choppy. I have set the graphics at lowest and the smallest game frame and still it plays slow and choppy. I have tried setting the graphics high and a larger frame, full screen and boxed screen...,pretty much everything.
I was wanting to be able to play this game while on my breaks at work and when I travel.
** Any help or suggestions..???!!!!???
----By the way my laptop is a Gateway M Series Notebook w/ an Intel Pentium Dual-Core Processor or Intel® Core 2 Duo Processor.

@ Zyklon, what's the gpu of your laptop? Oftentimes you may have an inferior intel GMA graphics installed with it if its dual core or core 2 duo. Next time please post it where it is actually relevant.

HemisH... Man, you're my hero! I had over 30 hours mucking through getting this game up and running and then went to install the add on content and it wouldn't work or let me play the game anymore. I went through your steps and it worked. Thank the Gods or whoever you want that there are people like you out there to help.

I have not successfully added my DLCs. I could not get my DLC download working which lead me to downloading them manually through the direct download. I managed to install them with the DAUpdater (despite the program notifying me that it cannot locate local control service). However, when i login in the game, it says my DLC are unauthorized (with the exception of blood dragon armor which works just fine). I tried the steps to locate the local control service such as 3.2.1 onwards however nothing is working. And the problem is not in my profile as these DLCs are registered in my account. Is there a link to all the 19 add-ons? I only see a few listed at Bioware sites.

Tried to load up a save today and all of a sudden my legit bought version of wardens keep aint working. Says that its unauthorized all of a sudden after working for 1,5 weeks. Got the same problem with the Stone Prisoner which I got with the game. Anyone knows if the servers are down or something because I sure as hell aint paying another 20$ to get this fixed.

Thank you jason! That clean-up tool did the job for me, I now have stone prisoner enabled as well as the ability to download DLC's.

I got the same problem, it says the owner to the Stone Prisoner has to login, even tho I am logged in. Ive tried ti re-login, restarting game etc but didnt work. Kinda annoying not being able to load your savegame because of this...
Would love if someone could help out here, cant play cause of this =/

Another problem that I have is with the bioware points, I wish to purchase some so I can get the wardens keep and such, but everytime I press on the button/links, nothing happens. It just takes me to profile.
Anyone can help me out?

I should perhaps add that on my registered promotions tab both Stone Prisoner and Wardens keep show up so they are obviously there. And I have logged in properly etc....

Am I the only one annoyed by the fact that after buying Warden's Keep I now have to be logged into the BioWare Community via the in game login function in order to play my game? It almost makes me want to download the torrent just to bypass such draconian restrictions, not that I would encourage anyone to do that, nor inquire about how to do that, nor tell anyone how to do that. That would be against the rules if I did, after all, so don't ask.

Still wondering if this is the case, i'd rather not restart my current game but I will if I have to.

Hi all!
I bought DAO and the installation went well. However, when I get the launch screen and I click "play",
I get this error message
"The program can't start because d3dx9_36.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."

For the record,
I reinstalled it twice, and after this I'm gonna try a third time.
Any help?

EDIT: Sorry I forgot to mention I have Windows 7 Ultimate, and I just installed it for the third time, this time manually, same response.

Nothing shows on download tabs
I installed without SP3 & then downloaded SP3

Game log says it cannot locate the 'offers' file Cannot contact servers however points check indicates it connects & I have info uploaded to my profile on achievements. Thus contact must be made.

Firewall in router has never stopped game downloads before e.g. auto patching of NWN 1&2. I have port forwarded just incase.

No anti virus to interfere either.

Should I patch (unpatched at present) or re install. Suggestions welcome

PS all DA uploader files present & its the Game collectors edition UK

Wow - such a terrible problem. If they are going to charge us £5 for an extra hour or two of game time, they could at least get it right!



My problem seems to be unfixable!!!



Have all DLC's installed.



Soldiers Peak has dissapered, and Shale is bugged to hell (when you talk to him it seems to think your back in the village trying to activiate him and everything disappears)



Tried uninstalling and force loading (to no avail). Tried starting the DLCupdater (to no avail) and tried reinstalling the whole game (...you guessed it)



Therefore I'm pretty pissed off...



Any word of a fix/refunds Bioware??

This faq is reall informative but i can't seem to find the answer to the problem i'm having i apologize 10 times over if i just skipped over it but what's happening for me is i installed the game, redeemed the code, and the dlc is just not showing up in the available content box. Now i bought it off steam and i upgraded to the digital deluxe edition after already installing the regular edition, i don't know if that would have anything to do with it. The code i put in was for the deluxe edition and it said everything was redeemed fine but the content just isn't showing up. Any thoughts or possible solutions would be greatly appreciated.

In regards to having manually downloaded the DLC's, due to the fact that I had them downloaded the offical way and was unable to install them.

I went through the steps of deleting the files in the Addins folders and the settings folder. I ran the DAUpdater, sellecting the DAzips and it threw an error. The log informs me that I do not have enough space to complete the action. This is nonsense, I have a spare 300 gigs.

Also, how do I aquire more DLC's? I have bought points from the shop and on the menu it says I have 540, yet I cannot find anywhere to spend them.

just looked at the front page morwe thouroughly and i'm having the problem with no content showing up but when i tried what the op posted for step 3.24 the cmd cd Microsoft.NET didn't work, and i tried running the daupdater manually but that didn't work either so im thinking that's my problem
