ok so nothing from 3.2.4 worked at all... it would just give me a curser and not let me do anything...



I said screw it and completely reinstalled....

Now not only can i not play my old games but now NONE of the DLC is showing up at all in the DLC area of the opening game screens...



It is now saying it is timing out trying to get to my profile. Oh and when I try to manually start the DAUploader.exe it still does nothing.

I moved my steam folder from my C drive to the D drive, would this result have anything to do with why I cant seem to locate the downloadable content?

i can guarantee you now that it is not related to the game version because i unintalled it and reinstalled it. v1.0 fails on both the blood dragon content and shale(stone prisoner) content. so what should i do. i asked to ea support about this and am waiting for an answer but extra help is appreciated.

3.2.2. worked for my problem of suddenly all DLC not being authorized. I don't know why the service is manual at the first place but it would seem it has to be started manually to make content available.

i'm sorry if i'm in the wrong error thread..

im getting the same problems, my mage saves are all crashing now, one doesn't crash but lags to like 1fps. so i started an elf rogue. major graphical glitches during the beginning, when i get to that place with the fellow outside of the clan straight after cutscene it crashes. all of these problems popped up after i got the DLC stuff. is it related and is there a fix? i knew i shouldn't have bought this game.

WORKING SOLUTION! SOMEBODY SHOULD TELL THIS TO BIOWARE AND EA SO THEY CAN ADD THIS SOLUTION TO THEIR OFFICIAL SUPPORT PAGE!!! Hey Burocky thank you man! Your solution worked. Hey friends! For those who cannot install their DLCs -- Try what Burocky says! Change your OS's language and regional settings to US English and U.S. respectively. I managed to install my premium content after applying Burocky's solution. All I did was to use DAupdater for manual install! Then it showed my content installed even in-game and it also enabled the DLCs. So Burocky my content shows installed and enabled even in the in-game downloadable content menu! So people if you use a localized version of XP or Vista try this solution too!

Update your graphics drivers and directx first. Maybe it is related to that.

Make sure your My Documents or Documents folders aren't encrypted.  I had the same/similar problem to the version 1.0 being in red and DLC not installing.

I had my 'C:\\Users\\<USERNAME>\\Documents' folder
encrypted and somehow this messes up Dragon Age Origins DLC. I check
the "DragonAge_1.log" file that is in "...\\Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon
Age\\Logs" and it listed the following error:
OnlineFeatures LoadOffers() : Unable to read file 'C:\\Users\\<USERNAME>\\Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\Settings\\offers.xml'!

Once
I decrypted my files/folders and removed any temporary files that I
couldn't decrypt, I was able to get all the DLC finally.  I'm using
Vista Ultimate 64-bit by the way and this is the only game/application
that seems to have a problem with with encrypted files for me.

i cant play this game online i need to do it offline :S whats up with that, my account here looks fine with everythig downloaded, but ingame it says it didnt ? i logi n with the same account so it shoudl be fine....any ideas?

I am having the same problem as the poster above. I play online and my account is showing that my downloaded content is unauthorized. I uploaded all the promo codes when I purchased my game, and everything has worked perfectly until today.

Same for me, the DLC is showing up at unauthorized. I only have this one account, and it's just plain not possible that i could've used another, different account to get this. Seriously, I cannot resume my game. Won't load my savegames unless this DLC gets authorized.

If you have downloaded it before, clear up your download cache that resolved my issue of my DLCs from being tagged as unauthorized from time to time. And after fixing that play offline, updating your online profiles are not that important anyway.

3.2.1 to locate the service, double-click it. Select the TAB Log On.
Instead of "Local System Account" select "This account" and type in
your windows Vista or 7 administrative account along with the password

Reinstall the service with 3.2.4.

Install the .Net Framework updates from Windows Update or Microsoft Update. (Start menu, Windows Update or Microsoft Update)

Whoever is maintaining this thread, please add this solution to this section, and thank you 1000000 times for doing this.  I would have been so lost without your help.

I found this page on microsoft's site about how to debug a windows service.

Towards the bottom of the article, it describes how to change the timeout period for starting services by entering a new field in the registry.

DISCLAIMER: messing around in the registry is dangerous, so don't stray from microsoft's instructions.  I'm not responsible for you messing up in there.

Anyway, I changed the timeout to 60 seconds by entering 60000(decimal) into this new registry value.
I also downloaded and installed the WinDbg tool preparing to debug the service. (also somewhere on microsoft's site).  I rebooted to have the registry setting take effect, and noticed that the service is now starting!!!!  I uninstalled the WinDbg tool, rebooted and it's still starting.

I'm not positive which fixed it, I suspect the registry trick, but if you're still stuck, give it a try.  Hopefully you won't have to get to the debugging stage.

FYI folks, I solved the problem of not being able to play with a glitched Shale and Wardens Keep map icon missing through finishing the game with the bugged save game, and starting a new game with another character that the glitch hadn't happened.

As far as I've reserached, the key to preventing the glitch from happening is to not play while logged in. This means that achievement and others aren't updated, but frankly I think that's a fairly cheap price for being able to play the content.

I'm having a lot of trouble trying to fix the DLCs. I've already posted elsewhere but nothing yet =/.



I had the Toolset vs. XP Sp2 issue wich sent my computer on an eternal looping. Then I've installed WinVista and reinstalled DragonAge.



The problem is that I can't make the DLCs work proper again. First I had problems trying to find the .dazip(s) but it didn't work(I had the files from the windows.old folder). After a lot of trouble I could download the DLCs again(through the links on this topic) but they keep showing as "unauthorized".



My last step was following the 3.3.1. part of this topic and cleaning the downloader log but so far the DLCs don't show up in the DAO windows to be downloaded...so any suggestions?

I've been trying to get this to work for the last day... MY Downloads are stuck at 100%. The DLC requires version 1.0, But the biggest problem is that if I try to run Dragon Age as Administrator I get the "this game is currently unavailable, please try again at another time" message from steam!

wtf... Does anyone have any idea why this is happening? This is getting really frustrating.

*edit* I ended up just doing a manual install with the .dazips posted here which solved the problem of getting my DLC , but I'm still very dissapointed in Bioware.

dunno if this "my documents" issue is already posted: if you installed the game and started the service as "Adminstrator" but play the game as another user, you are able to download content but it will not install. start the game as "Administrator" to install and play the content.
always strange when even famous games cannot handle user accounts correctly. i prefer to install as admin but run windows, play games and surf the web as user with restricted system permissions. looks like i'm forced to play the game as admin in order to play the content i've paid for.

Today the DLC "The Edge" has been added to my account but it's stuck somehow. The DLC is still in the "Download Progress" tab and is now installing...for over 20 minuted already. Any ideas how to fix this?

After finishing the whole Redcliff/circle of magi bit I returned to my camp to find Levi Dryden absent, my Soldiers Peak quest still in the log and no marker for the peak itself on my map anymore. All my save files for this character are completely devoid of Drydens of any sort, whereas my other characters are unaffected. I tried all the stuff listed in up on page 1 there and nothing has had any effect other then resetting my quest back to "unread". Is there anyway I can fix this? Or do I need to restart or wait for a patch or something?

Also noticed my "attempts to access online profile storage" are being "timed out" alot. Not sure if thats related
