SIgh...just tried 1.02 patch. If Shale is bugged or Soldier's Peak is missing, well the patch apparently helps in no way. It's nice to know that fixing premium content *purchased at extra expense* is not a priority for BioWare.
In the meantime, someone I know who obtained the game in illegal ways is playing with all premium content just fine. Thanks again, BioWare, for giving the shaft to your paying customers first.

I fixed my DLC problem. If you point your Documents folder to a network share, keep reading...
I tried many things suggested in this guide: re-installing, manually started the updater service, re-installing the updater service, re-installing the .NET framework, and nothing worked. I could never get anything to appear in the "Additional Content" tab.
I have "My Documents" stored on a network share on another computer. For some reason Dragon Age can load/save games fine, but it disrupts DLC. The registry key in question is "Personal" in
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Explorer\\Shell Folders]
I changed it from "\\\\server-name\\Documents"
to "C:\\users\\username\\Documents"
and after doing so things started to appear in "Additional Content". I was able to purchase and download DLC's just fine.
I want to try moving things back to the network share but noticed that they store all the DLC content there as well. Grabbing all that off the network is sure to make for long load times.

This is on a networked save and the usual way is just to save it locally on you computer, this is better don't you think?

Just want to say a big 'thank you' to HemisH.
I lost all my DLCs after a reinstall, tried a lot of things without success. But after finding the thread and doing the cleanup described in 3.3.1, I could download everything again.
Thanks again, cheers from Hungary.

....0.1.9. Some of your DLC are showing in the Available Content tab while you are entitled to it as seen on http://social.biowar...ntitlements.php
I'm having this problem, and don't understand where to go to solve the problem. =\\ It says
"If you are having trouble with content you are entitled to still being listed as requiring purchase follow the link in the troubleshooting guide to technical support, select the chat option, wait to be connected and then they credit the item to your account."
Though I don't know where the troubleshooting guide is or any link to technical support, nor where a chat option is. =\\

Likely cause is that the Dragon Age Origins Content Updater Service isn't running. Go to the Services List (start menu, run services.msc) and look for that service and start it if it stopped.
If it doesn't start or is missing, Check Section 3.2 of the first post of this thread for help with troubleshooting the Updater Service.

Alright after turning off my computer trying to come back to the problem of the download failing with a clear head, i went back into the dragon age dlc folder in-game and nothing appears in the available content tab where everything was before. Would this fall under an issue point 3.3 would fix? i couldn't find anything more in the thread about it, would greatly appreciate any input and thank you to the OP and everyone else thus far it got me half way but now im stuck again *sigh* Edit: i saw on another threat about how to start the DAUpdater manually to try and search for the dlc that way and manually install it but could not find the folder mentioned. Purchased the DE through Steam if that helps. The thread mentioned also starting the DAUpdater as Administrator which i couldn't do because it said i needed a password when there shouldn't be one. Thanks again for any advice anyone might have

I'm still trying to navigate all this and the download has failed twice. All of them appear in my list, and will show a % complete as they download, but at the end each time I just get a vague error message saying it doesn't work.
I was able to successfully download the content on my other computer; is it possible to just move the content from one computer to another, or does it always have to be downloaded directly from the site?

None of the things in this faq worked and DLC wouldn't install after 100% download, but then i figured out a new solution.
this is on windows7:
1. login as admin
2. go to the user account manager and set the slider all the way down to never notify (least secure)
3. reboot
4. run DA and start the download in the normal way
5. quit DA when it's done and set the security slider on normal again, then reboot (wouldn't want to compromise your PC)
6. always play the game from admin account
Run the game as any user other than admin and the DLC won't show up.
This DLC program is very crude.
But I can play now. Hope this may help someone.

of course the problem is that they do not want anyone to get the added content for free so they use some rube goldberg-esque strategy to keep people from infringing on their rights... end result: a bunch of disatisfied customers while the clever hackers still have an easy time of beating their countermeasures...
I still have not returned to an internet place to check to see if I could download the content again...I can't really do it from the comfort of home so it's more complicated. I was under the impression taht we can only download it once with the promo code... I'm still waiting to hear back if the code will still work... I'm at work now so I cant really bring my computer in to update a game...that looks sorta odd....

I'm trying to download shale and its stuck at 100% but in the download progress page it says installation failed. I've downloaded it once before but reformatted my computer due to a virus and lost my character. I'm trying to do step 3.3 right now but on step 4 of that I cant seem to find a "application data" folder anywhere. I tried entering in the cd key again online but it says I've already done that and cant do it again. The blood dragon armor downloaded fine.

when checking the services list i noticed that my problem may be that the path to the executable for the DA:O Updater is the path to where i had it previously installed, I changed my install locatio and lost my DLC in the process, ive uninstalled and reinstalled but this hasnt changed the DA:O updater's path. its currently set to
c:\\program files\\steam\\steamapps\\common\\dragon age origins\\bin_ship\\DAUpdaterSvc.Service.exe.
i need it set to
e:\\program files\\steam\\steamapps\\common\\dragon age origins\\bin_ship\\DAUpdaterSvc.Service.exe.
Does anyone know how i can change this?

I apologize should this have been said before.
I, too, had troubles to see DLC in my ingame tabs. Unfortunately, neither of the here suggested solutions worked for me. Great collection, btw. Many thanks for that!
On the EA Support site I found something that finally helped in my case. I'm running Windows XP SP3 and although my user has administrator rights it helped starting DAO as administrator (right click the program icon, select "Run as..." - choose "Administrator". You need to know the Admin password in that case of course.
Funny enough, when I started the game yesterday normally (not in administrator mode), the DLC suddenly started to download and install correctly for my standard user as well. If that has to do with starting the game as administrator at first I honestly don't know.
