I am having a problem just recently with my DLC. I have Shale in my party and she was great but now all of unique abilities i.e. those that are not shared outside her class as a Golem will not work anymore. Also I can't talk to her and when I go into the skills window to look at her skills no information is displayed when I mouse over the different symbols. Do I ahve to remove the content from my game and redownload it?

At map there is a place near ozzamar with yellow semybol.You need to go there afaik and talk with the merchant at there.I'm not totally sure i'm still having issues with any DLC exist.

so the deal is you pay them to buy the game, but by agreeing to their little amended policies you actually become their employee to fix whatever bugs there may be with the DLC. The same goes with the instruction book. You see, these days being a gamer means paying for the privilege of being an uncompensated employee. I dont make the rules, it's the economy, and having a big name on the game that we collectively programmed, is worth something... ;p



I'm just glad I did not have to pay for the malfunctioning promo code... at least they gave me a chance to try it out for free... and now I know, after not recieving a response from their support team for over a weak, that I am not interested in their DLC products... 'just glad I did not give them any money for it.. but the package did promise some DLC for free... and, well, what can I say...

Started game to download the content

My cousin has downloade Dragonage origins for the pc
He borrowed me the game and i´ve played
through the game already.
Then I wanted to download the DLC ''wardens keep''
so i bought bioware points.

but then when i start the game and logged in and all.
there are no downloadable contents available.

and so when i looked it up on the internet i understand that u first
have to put in a redeem code.

Now my question is: how can i get a redeem code ?

Do i first have to buy the game of what?

I have the game, thus the service, installed on another hard drive. When I bring up the service properties in administrative, it says the path to the executable is on C. It won't start because it's looking in the wrong place for the executable.

For those where the path of the service is wrong, you guys should perform the section 3.2.4. to uninstall the service and reinstall it. Reinstalling it from your game folder (which will be in the right drive and/or path) should solve that problem.

Make sure you're using the correct paths. In the case of our second friend here, he would be using  e:\\\\program files\\\\steam\\\\steamapps\\\\common\\\\dragon age origins\\\\bin_ship\\\\DAUpdaterSvc.Service.exe to reinstall.

He might have to create the same bin_ship folder as it was originally before he moved his game.  Not sure what will happen if he use the /u command with e:\\ when the service is currently installed for c:\\. Try it normally and if it doesn't work, create the folder c:\\\\program files\\\\steam\\\\steamapps\\\\common\\\\dragon age origins\\\\bin_ship\\\\ and copy/paste the content of your bin_ship folder from your e:\\ drive in this new folder. You then run the 3.2.4 section and use the c:\\ path on the /u command to uninstall the service. Then when you reinstall it with the /i command you use your normal e:\\ path. After that you can delete the new folders you created on c:\\.

Of course it would certainly be possible to change a patch by using the registry but I don't have the game here and I find it more dangerous to mess with the registry than to make someone uninstall and reinstall a service. If you mess up with section 3.2.4., nothing really bad can happen.

....3.2.4. Uninstalling and reinstalling Dragon Age Updater Service if you receive errors at point 3.2.2 or everything else failed.

1.)
Windows XP :  Press the windows key + R (or click Start and then RUN) and type cmd and press ENTER
Windows Vista & 7 : Run CMD as administrator as per section 3.1.5

2.)
Naviguate to c:\\\\Windows\\\\Microsoft.NET\\\\Framework\\\\v2.0.50727\\\\
Perform these commands to do so (your prompt should be in Windows\\\\System32 by default) :
net stop DAUpdaterSvc
cd..
cd Microsoft.NET
cd Framework
cd v2.0.50727
installutil  /u "C:\\\\Program Files (x86)\\\\Dragon Age\\\\bin_ship\\\\DAUpdaterSvc.Service.exe"
installutil "C:\\\\Program Files (x86)\\\\Dragon Age\\\\bin_ship\\\\DAUpdaterSvc.Service.exe"
net start DAUpdaterSvc

Make sure to use the path where your game is actually installed (something like c:\\\\Program Files\\\\Steam\\\\steamapps\\\\common\\\\Dragon Age\\\\ for Steam for exemple)

In case you don't have the exact same Framework version, etc... the Framework path won't work. I suggest you perform a normal file search in Windows for the file installutil.exe and note the full path and substitute your own folders to match.

Since you pirated the game you can't do anything about that. When you  buy the game, you receive codes or cd-keys you need to use in your social.bioware.com account you created. Those codes can only be used ONCE. Even if your game is not pirated and you only borrowed it from a friend, there is no way you can redeem the codes in your social.bioware.com account.

The game itself has nothing to do with the DLC. If you bought points with your Thoorop social.bioware.com account and bought the Warden's DLC it should show up in : http://social.biowar...ntitlements.php.

If it shows there but not in the game, you'll need to follow the instructions from the first post of this thread by locating the instructions of the section closer to your issue.

If it doesn't show up there, you'll need to contact Bioware to sort out your account.

HemisH I wondered of you could help me at all... I have similar problems to other people, but I think a difference is is that my DLC DID work at some point. Bassically I bought the CE of the game, installed okay, went to the DLC section in game and Stone prisoner and WC showed up on available content. I pressed the redeem code button and then entered the code for the collectors items ONLY. These worked fine (at first) and the book you get was in game.



Later I noticed the book had dissapeared, and back on the DLC screen it said I was unauthorised to use it (logged into correct account of course). An earlier save with the book in my inventory wouldnt work. Then I tried to redeem stone prisoner as I did the collectors items. Back in game stone prisoner was still showing up as available to buy, and not in the "Download" tab. I tried a reinstall, and now NOTHING is showing up in ANY of the DLC tabs at all. The DAupdaterSvc seems to be starting and running fine, and I can manually download and install the content if I want. But again logged into my acount I get the unautherised message if downloaded manually. Its as if the game and my acount arent communicating properly, but whats strange is that it did work wen I first had the game, if only briefly.

Ok, hemish tanks,  cuz. its kinda screwed that i spended money on it and then i couldn't download the content since its not appearing in-game.
(when i buy bioware points, then i also buy wareden's keep at the same time? cuz i went to www.dragonage.bioware.com. then clicked on game add-ons and then on warden's keep. and then i'll get shown the buy screen for bioware points.)

but i'll think i'll just buy the game and try it with a redeem code i get then.

I'm not sure if you need to redeem a code for each DLC when you buy them. I bought the Collector's Edition so I had a code to redeem. I'm not sure what happens when someone has the standard edition and buy a DLC with the Bioware points. Sorry!

Yeah content that worked before and then got broken or unauthorized is still affecting people. It's one of the worst problems. Like I mentioned a couple times, I didn't have any problems yet with my DLC so I couldn't test and find solutions. I know there are severals threads about these issues on the PC Forum.

With your first issue (before you reinstalled the game) I would have tried section 3.3.1 first. Something is messed up on your end when your content shows again in the Available tab (low chances of the account itself being borked).

As for nothing showing up in the 3 tabs now... Since you reinstalled I would suggest you do a complete wipe of the DLC themselves, just in case.

Do these things : 

• Try 3.3.1 to clean up.
• Do 4.3 to locate where the DLC files are located and instead of deleting only one DLC like the section suggests, do it for all the DLC that are shown there (if any.. I'm not sure the game remove them when you uninstall).
• Check section 3.2.1 to make sure your service is present and also started. (did you reinstall the game in the exact same location?)
• If it's started, just try the game again

If the service is not started / can't start or even if everything looks peachy and it still can't work, I would suggest trying to reinstall the service manually with the section 3.2.4.

Well it's pretty much the best I can do right now... As you guys can see. I covered pretty much everything in the first post, it's only a matter of using them logically with your issues.

hmmm... I have no manifest.xml file, and I dont think I ever have.. Games reinstalled in exact location, the default one.. I tried 3.3.1 but that didnt work along with deleting the DLC currently in the folder. The Service is fine and running also... Will try a reinstall.

Is Warden's Keep showing up in your promo page in the Profile menu?
