Also, you'll want to confirm your service starts when you boot the game. A few users have reported they need to manually start their service for some reason.

1. In Windows, Press start

2. Run "services.msc"

3. Find and start "Dragon Age: Origins - Content Updater"

4. Restart game

Greetings. I have read most of the entries on this forum and still can't get Levi the merchant to appear in my camp. He disappeared about 2 months ago because I never did the Warden's Keep quest. I bought and downloaded this quest recently and he is still missing. In one of my old games his wagon is in the camp but he simply is not there. I've tried the "Content Updater" fix above and still have no joy. I'm running Windows 7 64-bit, and have also installed both patches on DAO. Please help.

How big is the Stone Guardian add-on? it's taking me several hours to download on a 1.5mbit/256kbit connection. It's been over an hour now and it is at 37%.

I download it from this link and it downloads a billion times faster, it had reached 45% by now, so I stopped the service and am going to download it manually. Is it compatible with v1.2?

im getting extremely frustrated with dragon age. i have the steam version collectors edition. downloaded and installed and plays fine.

all the dlc sits at 0%, ive tried so many different things to get it working and the best i have achieved is a manual install that works with items(they appear in game correctly) yet wardens keep and the stone prisoner..

wardens keep i get a journal entry about a merchant visiting my camp, he doesnt appear and stone prisoner nothing at all.

HELP????

i suspect mass effect 2 will use a similar system for its dlc and what has gone from a must have purchase has now become something i am thinking of avoiding

I changed my regional and language settings to English (USA) and tried to install manually the .dazip files with the daupdater.exe in bin_ship folder.



It worked!

set my regional settings and number format to US and it worked!

Manual install, ingame install, all works.



probable cause is the number format, in our language one million is 1.000.000 in english it's 1,000,000. (xml parser bug, i believe)

I downloaded the Stone Keeper and when I go to Sulcher's Pass I get the quest and it says completed and Honnleath doesn't appear on my map at all. I tried this for several different characters and nothing seems to works

i can download the promo packages that came with my game (being blood dragon armor and the stone prisoner) and it says extracted and moves to install but is then stuck saying installing.

i just cannot seem to move it past this point.

help PLEASE

UPDATE:  I was having an issue of the "Website" button on the splash screen and the  "Online Profile" button on the in-game menu not opening a webpage. (buttons were basically non-functional)

Thought maybe it was related to why I had intermittent issues downloading/installing DLC on my current re-install of DA.  (I eventually had to direct-download and extract the larger DLC)


Anyhow, I reinstalled IE 8, and now, those above buttons/links work.  I think my registry was messed up. (based on stuff I read on MS site)


I doubt this was related to the problematic DLC download issues I was having.

still can't install DLC without changing number formats and region to US.

My stone prisoner dloaded and installed fine but i could not get my blood armor to download for nothing. Just stayed at 0% with no download button to click to try and force it, but when i deleted the manifest.xml the download button appeared when i started the game the next time and it download fine. Thanks alot for the info

I have a problem. A DLC to buy ( Warden's Keep) dont show where i have dawnload dlc. I dont buy Warden Keep, becuse i dont see it. A man in game who tell me about Warden Keep disapird

Hey, i wonder if anyone can help. I Run windows 7, 64bit. When the game first came out i got all the extras, stone prisoner, wardens keep etc and all is well with that. But now, i have the points to buy the new ostagar content, but it won't show up in available content. The installed content is all there, but this new one i can not find to buy.



Any help?

I recently had to re-install Dragon Age and when using my old saved games, the Blood Dragon Armor texture doesn't show up, the player wearing them shows up all white, and the name of the items are:

prm000im_dragon_blood_glove
prm000im_dragon_blood_plate
prm000im_dragon_blood_boots

I've discovered that when using Shale none of his special attacks have names or descriptions.

So I used the daupdater to re-install the DLC and now the textures for Blood Armour work and Shale's attacks have descriptions.

But, I still have a problem when talking to Shale and getting teleported, then I get dialog to activate Shale. Anyway to fix Shale at this point?

after reinstaling my .net framework, my daupdater.exe still crashes if I try to start it manually (and the service doesn't respond to start with services.msc). I tried everything in the faq and still nothing - three empty dlc tabs

just downloaded the stone prisoner DLC but the extraction process was a failure... now I can't download it again (even tho i cleared the cache from settings)... any suggestions???

Several in this thread have mentioned changing the "language" and "regional settings."

I'm curious, what are they talking about? Where are these settings accessed?

(and if it helped DLC issues with them, shouldn't it be added to page 1?)

yes i also suggest adding that to the 1st page since it helped dozens of people.



to change regional settings go to start->control panel

from there switch to classic view/icons view. double click "Region and Language"(this is what it called in win7,may differ in vista and xp,)



from there go through all tabs and change everything to US setting, including your keyboard,format and region settings.



i'll go and try to figure which ones are necessary, but for now set all to US
