well just backup saves and Settigs folder, rest should be fine, Premiere was delayed only 3 weeks  so PC version might not be that buggy.

I have tried all these solutions. I've ran everything in Admin mode, restarted, reinstalled. I turned the updater on and off, and reinstalled it. And yet, still the Stone prisoner and Dragon armor downloads fail every time. When I first got this in december, Embri's Many pockets and the Amulet of the War mage both downloaded just fine, but back then I couldn't redeem the code, and now that I'm back from vacation, the code redeemed, but the DLC won't download.



I guess the last reason I might have is that I cannot get to the direct link on EA's website for the DAZIP. I am currently working/living in Beijing, and the internet here is controlled, which might explain that. Hmm... now that I think about it, perhaps the fact I can't get to the direct download means the updater can't get to it either.



The solution, I suppose, is to find another source for the stone prisoner. I googled, but no non-sketchy websites pop up. Any suggestions? I just need the file.

Wastrelwink, have you tried to manually download and install the DLC? Links and instructions are in section 4 of the first post of this thread?



A couple of things that aren't always apparent. People have had problems with the installation if their My Documents directory is in somewhere other then the default location. Moving it back to the default location so the DLC can download and install has help some people.



Also, if your region and language settings in Windows is something other then USA and English try setting Windows to those settings temporarily.

Thanks for the reply. I'm fully westernized, on a USA-bought PC, just hooked into the Chinese web. I would certainly try the manual install, but can't get the DAZIP file. It might be a problem with China's Great Firewall, but I can't open the link to get the DAZIP file. Just gives an error, not matter which browser. I managed to download two other DLC's last year, so this might be a new thing.

If you have an alternate location for the Stone Prisoner DLC, I would greatly appreciate it.

Might also be interesting to note that downloading the Stone Prisoner order DLC file (( http://na.llnet.biow...OCP_2_1.0.dazip )) fixed my issue of getting crystals for Shale but not getting the Sulcher's Pass quest.

No, it is not officially released. See the stickies in the general forum. There are some files available if you know where to look for them, but it is not yet available to the general public.

Because their system has a design flaw.



I just wanted to clarify that people aren't getting the offer download because it hasn't been pushed out yet, not because of some other problem. And anything you download now is at your own risk.

That said I haven't installed the main files for RTO yet.... but if I've wasted my cash on the purchase I'm not going to be happy....

I think my DLC might be bugged and I'm not sure what's caused it. I have both Soldier's Keep and the Shale DLC. They both worked properly and I completed them. I moved my save from 64-bit Vista to 64-bit Windows 7, and downloaded the DLC again. I still have shale, but it acts like the quest is still in progress, as if I have to go do it again. If I talk to shale, he doesn't even show up. It just asks me to try to activate the golem with the control rod. Soldier's peak doesn't show up on the map, and the guy isn't in my camp. Am I completely screwed? I still have shale in my camp, and I still can use him in battle, and he still talks during cutscenes. But I can't converse with him.



Any one else experience this problem?

I usually hate to do all the installation all over when i use my ghost images to get back to a fresh environment so i usually install my games on another partition so i can easilly start them when i do a "reinstall" so to say but this time i had problem with the DLC and thanks to your guide i figured out what i needed to do.



So basically for people who want to use their old install game and simply run the game after a OS re-install the only thing you need to do is this:

1) Copy your saved game from (c:\\Users\\Shadow\\Documents\\BioWare\\).

2) After reinstall put back this whole folder just to be safe.

3) Navigate to c:\\\\Windows\\\\Microsoft.NET\\\\Framework\\\\v2.0.50727\\\\

4) installutil "D:\\\\Games\\\\Dragon Age\\\\bin_ship\\\\DAUpdaterSvc.Service.exe"

5) net start DAUpdaterSvc



Now it should be working for you (atleast it does for me

i'm having a problem with return to ostagar
i purchased the points to download it, and got a confirmation
i started the process of downloading Rto, but realized i need the new patch, so i closed it and downloaded + installed the patch.
after i rebooted the game, it now says i have not purchased it at all. i downloaded and manually installed Rto, but to no avail
how can i get rto to work?

I'm having a redeemed DLC problem that isn't listed in the OP and the search function is pretty rubbish so I apologise if this has already been asked but I'm not wading through 60+ pages of the thread just on the offchance that it might have been.

Anyway, I've successfully registered my game, redeemed and downloaded my DLC (Blood Dragon Armor, and The Stone Prisoner) but it's just sitting in the Download Progress tab saying 'Downloaded - 100%' for all three DLCs. The problem seems to be that they all require game version 1.0 and I assume that Steam has autopatched to 1.02. The 1.0 in 'Required Game Version' is in red, which I can only assume means that my game version does not meet the requirements somehow.

The weird thing is that Amulet of the War Mage DLC from the online flash game worked perfectly, and also only requires version 1.0.

If anybody has any suggestions to overcome this strange 'Game Version Required' problem I'd be much obliged. And in case it's at all relevant:

Steam version of the game
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

OK oddly enough it seems to have started working after I updated my graphics card drivers.  Whether that actually had any effect I can't say, but the DLC all extracted and installed with no problems once I'd done it.  Strange.

DA:O tells me that I am not authorised for Shale and Warden's Keep (though all of my other DLC are fine). My CD Key is installed and my online profile shows my DLC. I can follow the directions to uninstall and reinstall DAUpdaterSvc using cmd but the net start command won't work (net stop doesn't either because the service wasn't started in the first place... NET HELPMSG 2186). I've also tried manually starting from services.msc (error 1053).



I'm running Windows XP and have the standard boxed game with the latest patch, only have the one profile on my comp so there shouldn't be any issue with not having administrator privileges. In any case I can't remember my password to change the profile within services.msc (I set up my computer in 2006).



Everything was working fine when I last played (before New Year's), it just seems odd that everything has gone belly up since then.



I'm going to try uninstall and reinstall DA and see where that gets me but if anyone has any ideas I'm happy to hear it.

Cheers, I typed a help request to EA and they got back pretty quick. Basically what worked was setting the start up type to "automatic" through services.msc.

Edit: Actually this wasn't a hard fix for me, I get about 10 secs from the game loading to resume or start a new game before the DLC becomes unauthorised again. I had a look at the DAUpdater in services.msc while the game was loading and it gets stuck at "starting" before it finally stops. I'm not sure but is the game getting the same 1053 error I get when I try to manually start?

The beta fix unfortunately didn't work either.

I'm going to have to wait for an official fix to the updater since I really don't want to spend more time on this.

I just bought it and I download it to %100 but when it comes to install I am getting this error says



'' A download or Installation failed more than once.''

The Support team refused to offer a solution and advised me to post my complaint here so that the programmers may notice the bug.

After buying and installing DLC Wardens's Keep everything seemed to work fine. I didn't start playing the quest right away though. Later I noticed the the map marker of the quest disappeared, as did Dryden from the camp. All my saved games have this flaw.

From what I've seen so far this is a common problem, but I hadn't found a solution yet. Reinstalling the DLC didn't work.

My setup: Windows 7, The game was downloaded via EADM.
current game version 1.01

The support team somehow didin't notice my refundation claim, as the company failed entirely to deliver the service I payed for

Zoolio, its likely you ran into an unfortunate glitch where are some point while playing the game, it lost track of what DLC you had the rights to and removed the content. Any saves you make while in this state are bad, and even after you restart and the DLC comes back, those saves will stay corrupted.



It is possible to use the developer's console to fix things up. Instructions here
