When the game is downloading content automatically it stores it in C:\\Users\\All Users\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\DAUpdater

If you are downloading it manually that depends on your browser and how its configured and where you choose to save the files too.

I have redeemed all the DLCs from the Digital Deluxe edition. But when I go to the page in the Bioware Social Network where I can see my registered game promotions, there is no download option. All of the DLCs are registered there, but I can't download them.

They are supposed to download automatically when you log into the game with the same email address and password as your account here.  If they don't, well that's what the FAQ that is the first post of this thread is for.

After some months (largely punctuated by a return to the Capitol Wasteland and to save the galaxy from the Collectors) I've spent an evening determined to get DLC working on DA:O.



I completed the game over xmas, but still felt somewhat disappointed that I'd not seen any of the Shale dialogue, which I've been told is worthwhile.



Apparently, after weeks of messing about with the daupdater service, with reinstalling .net 2.0, and various other kludges and aggro, it appears that you must have the "My Documents" directory available from a drive letter.



OK - it's probably been done to death. But I have to ask - why was this design decision taken? The rest of the game works reasonably well (CTDs notwithstanding) with My Documents pointed to a UNC path.



While asking for a fix to rectify this is probably not reasonable (as the number of users affected by this will be minimal) could I ask that (1) in future users with my documents on UNC are considered and (2) that this information be fed back via the EA Support site, which still has no mention of this issue?



And while this post has been a bit of a rant, could I thank Bioware for its handling of DLC in Mass Effect 2 - this does not require a separate system service to be installed (and I'd like to meet the guy who thought that was a sensible way of delivering content) - it's just a plain old download. The way it should be.

Ah... Great. I see that creating a fresh directory off the root of a local drive, mapping "My Documents" to it, downloading the DLC, and then pointing "My documents" back towards my UNC path - which contains the rest of my *documents*, saved games, and so forth, doesn't work.



I suppose this is partly due to making applications run under limited user accounts, but it's bloody irritating.

My DLC was not working correctly after I switched from the Steam version to a retail box version. Had to go into my freaking registry to tell the game to look in the normal folder rather than the Steam folder.



Quite the oversight.



And now my menus and movies are laggy as heck, not sure if it is related but they were fine before this.

I've been trying to make this work the past 2 days...



I'm outside US so I've changed all lang settings to US

The real problem I'm having is that I don't get to find the `Program Data` folder. I know I'm supposed to deactivate the hide folders option and so on but nothing happens. There is no such folder which means I cannot manualy install dlcs. I also tried downloading from the links provided in the first post but the updater doesn't get to see those zip files as they are winrar archive files?



Well I'm stuck here and very disappointed with the extras of the game as all you are. All help appreciated.

I have the problem that all the DLC is displayed fine in the game menu, I could accept Levi Drydens quest for Wardens Keep but can´t access it on the map as it is not there, and neither is levi anymore. I tried nearly everything the forums recommended without any success. My DLC is authorized and shown ingame, just the location is gone... Is there a solution to this problem?

Zanilla, Soldier's Peak never appeared on your map and you have never been there?  (Just making sure becuase its a different problem if it disappeared after you've been there.)

A few things to try:

1) Force the game to see Warden's Keep as new
*  Go to the Installed Content Tab under Downloadable Content
*  Clear the checkmark next to the Warden's Keep
*  Load your last save, and when it gives you a message about disabled DLC, force load the save.
*  Make a new save.
*  Go back out to the Installed Content Tab and reenable Warden's Keep.
*  Load your new save and see if it appears on the map.

2) Delete and reinstall Warden's Keep
* Delete the My Documents\\Bioware\\Dragon Age\\addins\\dao_prc_nrx_1, directory.
* From the game launcher click Configure, then once the configuration utility launches go to Repair and click on Clear Download Cache
* It should try and automatically download Warden's Keep again once you launch Dragon Age.  If it doesn't manually install it. (see next step.)

3) Manually reinstalling Warden's Keep

Right click on the above link for the DLC you have having problems with and select “Save Target As”, or the equivalent in your browser. Save the .dazip file to your computer. If your browser tries to rename it to .zip file, rename it back to .dazip after download.
 
Find the daupdater.exe application, it is usually located in the bin_ship directory in your Dragon Age Installation (For example C:\\Program Files\\Dragon Age\\bin_ship\\daupdater.exe) Double click on it to open it.
 
Click on Select DAZIPs.  Navigate to where you have saved the .dazip file and open it.

Now the .dazip file will appear on the Install tab.  Select it on the list and click Install Selected.
 
Restart the game and see if that has resolved things.

4)  If all that fails you can use the runscript zz_gwb_debug console command to warp to Soldier's Peak directly.

Blimey, that was painful. Decided to change over to the EA Download Manager version of DA:O due to persistent problems with the on-disc DRM preventing the DVD reading correctly (and as an aside I thought Download Manager was supposed to keep you updated? Dunno why I ended up regressing to V1.0 again).

Took ages to even get the DLC to show up, after which it downloaded one and all others got stuck at 0% downloaded, no matter what I tried.

I tried the FAQ, and suggestion after suggestion failed... I'd got to the "last chance saloon" of option 3.3 before it finally cleared and started working again.

So many thanks to the contributors to the FAQ... but seriously, EA, it shouldn't be necessary: to be this broken, and to still be this broken four months on is an absolute disgrace. I don't blame the technical staff for this, but some EA manager needs a serious kick up the arse for not allocating enough resources to getting it fixed. But that's EA all over, I suppose. [/rant]

Hi Kepha,

thank you so much for your advice. Points 1-3 didn´t work. i couldn´t test point 4 as i am not able to access the console. I followed the steps which are explained in the Wiki (http://dragonage.wik...om/wiki/Console) but wasn´t able to run it for some reason. It just won´t start. Well, the game does but the console won´t

The odd thing is, old savegames recognize soldiers peak, but only until the date i have purchased it (February 14). In other words, savegames from the day I bought the DLC or later won´t recognize it. The day I bought it I have seen the peak on my map but decided to finish some quests in Brecilian forest first. Afterwards it was gone, Levi was gone, but the quest is in my journal. Strange thing, and a little disappointing. I have finished the game on Sunday, so I either have the choice to re-do a lot of the game or just play it with a different character, although this one is my main and I would have liked the thought doing it all with her.

I think its in general its just referring to contacting EA Support by the regular channels.  However, also double check that your Dragon Age Origins Content Update service is running.  If its not (or it doesn't get started fast enough) that can also cause the game to offer you content you already own for purchase.

Hello all. I thought I had the DLC pretty much nailed, from a technical point of view. Despite previously having experienced the UNC "my documents" network location problem, I managed to get the DLC working ok (by switching default location and copying swathes of DA files from A to . I agree with the previous poster - it's a real pain.



I've now come to download another bit of DLC, RTO. Went through the same ritual, however I am now experiencing a new issue. Having bought 400 points, which show up in the DLC screen, and having clicked on download for RTO, which also appears in the DLC screen with a cost of 400 points, when I click "buy content" to download it, I get an error message indicating "sorry, your request could not be completed at this time. Please try again".



I've not seen any reference to this in the troubleshooting. The odd thing is, it seemed happy enough to download "the edge". I'm using the latest patched version 1.02a.



I would be grateful for any pointers.

How the heck do I get to the trouleshooting guide to technical support with the chat option? I got the digital deluxe version as a gift so I really don't know where to start.

Seem to have a simular problem.  Purchased the game a couple of weeks ago.  Installed and redeemed the two codes for the stone prisoner and the blood dragon armor.  Both show up as installed and enabled in the DLC content area.  Started playing and had the armor in my inventory, but did not have the village for the stone prisoner on the world map.

Updated the game with the latest patch today. I now have a new area on the world map (Bann Loren) but still no village for the stone prisoner.  Would consider purchasing some of the other DLC but would like to get what I'm supposed to have working.  Any ideas??
