Hi everyone, I bought the Awakening addon together with 1600 Bioware points and updated my account. After that I bought the Warden's Keep DLC and started the game...funny it still showed as payable in the download content even thought the 560 points have been substracted and showing (and yes my daoupdater service was running!). I bought it then ingame and the download started. Official support hasnt responded to me yet how to recover my points, so maybe you guys knew a proper soultion.

So yeah, my character is naked, it is wearing the helmet from the stone prisoner DLC and has the daggers from duncan in her bags, but not the Warden Commander's armor. Is this normal or? Cause I'd prefer not to fight naked I've noticed trying to import that my mage wearing the robe from the Warden's keep DLC also is naked. It's Kinda odd..

Warden's Keep items don't import into Awakenings.  There have been multiple threads abou this in the Awakening forum.

I hope it is ok that don´t search 77 pages of text for my problem. I used the search engine though.

I can´t install the DAUpdater Service. I followed the instruction to the letter. Uninstall worked. And when I reinstall it via cmd (yes started as administrator) it starts the installation process but tells me that there has been an exeption and the file will be rolled back to previous status. Any Idea what went wrong there?

The Devs have stated that there were some technical issues with DLC items importing into Awakenings that they had decided not to fix because they figured you'd get better gear soon enough, and they decided to spend their time working on other things.  After the inital outcry they went back on that and were able to get Return to Ostagar items to import officially.  Anything else importing or not is a wildcard, multiple people have found that the Stone Prisoner items import for them, but its not offical that they should.  There is a mod floating around that fixes all the DLC so that they import.

I have the odd failure that not all of the dlc downloads. The blood armor an the Mem ring stay at 0 % while the rest downloaded and installed.

I had to replace the hdd(ssd) and installed on a fresh win 7 install. The game is installed on a conventional disk.

The updater is running.

Nevermind. (if you can read why not use it)

I took the effort to read the opening post and found something. Copied the characters folder and appear good to go. I still have the manifest xml document on the dektop. Save to trow away?

 Hi dont know if this is the place to put this but looked everywhere he gose installed game but when i press play it says can not connect to ea core does anybody know wot todo this is the only game ive bought and had problems with connecting dont know if servers r down or if they do go down for maint pls help

I have Windows Vista and the 1.03 patch. My problem is the 0.1.12. I have looked at close to everything in the BioWare forums. I have also contacted support, but they made my problem even worse, now my problems are 0.1.12. and 0.1.1. I have tried everything in these forums except reinstalling CD-key, wich I can not do, because I bought this game from Spaceworld.com. Please help me. If this goes on I probably have to do a complete reinstall of the game. I do not want to lose many hours of gameplay.

Thanks for the help guys. After reading this thread I realized that I had my installation on a different partition than my saved games. I re-installed it on the same partition and now the game is updating itself and I can see all the downloadable content. Thanks again

I have the steam and retail copies steam deluxe retail normal and having issues with DLC.

Could there be any known issues with people having keys from Steam and a Retail copy corrupting access to the DLC from either? I can get and use the CE that was allocated to me and i see wardens keep and stone prisoner but I cant download past 80% for anything other then the CE. I am unsure if I am the only one to have this issue and if I am not could anyone explain a fix?

Hey all, got a weird problem with the DLC after changing the hard drive Steam was located on. I uninstalled Steam and copied my existing steamapps folder somewhere else so when I reinstalled on the new drive all would be good. And it is but the Dragon Age dlc all shows as unauthorized now and I think it's because the daupdater can't run. In services.msc the file path for the updater shows the old location before the move and when I try to start it manually from that screen it says it can't locate the file. I can, however, open the daupdater.exe manually from the steamapps folder on the new drive but this does nothing to resolve the dlc issue.



Any help? =(

The problem I have is for The Stone Prisoner. It is stuck at 100% downloaded but when I click on it and scroll down the link to the right (the portrait and information for the download) there isn't a download button underneath it to manualy try and force it to finish or recognise it is downloaded.
It says in red writing 'version 1.0 required'.
I have tried following several of the steps in this guide but do find some of the instructions confusing as I know nothing about computers (I just want to play games).

I think after the last patch the version I am running with is 1.03b or something?
Any suggestions to fix this problem would be appreciated.

I tried reinstalling stone prisoner twice...sulcher's pass is there and "Felix" is standing there with an exclamation point over his head, but he does nothing when I click on him. Any thoughts?

Hey, I just had this problem. All my DLC except for Lion's Paw was disabled when I logged into my online account in game.

Try to set the game as admin (3.1.3.1. and 3.1.3.2.). The DLC files themselves are not in the normal Dragon Age game folder.

... solved everything for me. Thank you very much for this thread, game NEEDS to be run as administrator. Massive nerdrage has been averted... for now. =/

Windows is still looking for the service executable in the old location.  You can fix this by editing the registry.  I have some instructions on how to do this in Section 5 of the DLC In-Game Errors FAQ.

Try these if the DLC is downloading, but not installing.  (Stuck at 100%)

* From the game launcher click Configure.  Then in the configuration utility go to Repair, and click on Clear Download Cache.
* Delete the My Documents\\\\Bioware\\\\Dragon Age\\\\Settings\\\\Manifest.xml file
* Make sure that your My Documents directory is physically located on the C: drive.  Right click on USERNAME\\\\My Documents and select Properties.  Go to the Location tab and check the path listed.  If its not on the C: drive, click on Restore Default.  You can move it back after the DLC is installed.
* Set your Windows Region and Language settings to English (United States).  (This is also a temporary measure)
* If none of that solves things also trying deleting your My Documents\\\\Bioware\\\\Dragon Age\\\\Settings\\\\Addins.xml file.  This will effectively uninstall all DLC, some mods, and Awakening if it was installed, so try everything else first.

If its still not installing then you can try the Manual Install Method that is describe in Section 4 of the first post of this thread.  Even if the manual install still fails it will at least give better error messages that may help figure out what the problem is.

Kepha, thank you so much for the help. I'm having no luck though. I can't figure out the regedit (I found both the old and the new file paths for the updater so I'm not sure what to change) and the cmd.exe method doesn't work for me either.

Would this problem be solved by uninstalling/reinstalling the game?

First step is make sure the Dragon Age Origins Content Update service is running.  Without it the DLC system won't work.  Try manually starting it before you start the game:

1.) Press the windows key + R (or click Start and then RUN) and type in
services.msc and press ENTER
2.) Locate the Dragon Age: Origins -
Content Update in the list of services.
3.) Right click it and select
START

Then start the game, log in, and go to Downloadable Content->Download Progress and see if you see things start to download.

Possibly.  Though for some people reinstalling doesn't change where Windows is looking for it.

As for the registry,  You only need to worry about entries in the registry with the old path.  Simply select the ImagePath key, right click, and select Modify.  Then edit the path to the correct one, and click OK.

It doesn't matter whether Dragon Age is running or not, they give the same errors. I tried un- and reinstalling the service, relocating the bin_ship folder and reinstalling the service, and changing the login options for the service. The service is running with administrator priviledges and is not blocked by firewall. Nothing seems to help. Is there anything else i can try?

A couple of things to try.  Since this is the Steam version, verifying the game cache has been known to fix this issue.

If that doesn't work you try running DA Updater Service Diagnostic Beta, which one of the devs posted a while back.  It contains the same fixes that later went into Patch 1.03, but also trys to fix some common problems with the service install.
