I also have "My Documents" point a directory on my server. While this has never been a problem for any other game I had to point it to my local drive and that fixed the problem for me.

Theres a strange issue for me ... after launching manually the service all contents downloaded and installed correctly EXCEPT for the collector's edition content (the winged helm). deleting the xml file doesnt seem to work, if u used to programming the xml entries says ConsumeSuccess for all the contents except for the one refering to collectors edition that just says PartiallyDownloaded and it just keep at 0% download status

heres the full entry :

I have gone through all the steps a few times but without success.

My downloads are siting at 0% and will not start downloading even if I try to forced download them

Also some of the display pictures do not appear in the Details Tab, instead they are grayed out.

I managed to get the stone Prisoner downloaded when the game first launched but nothing else will download.

Any ideas on what is causing this?

If you've already had success with some DLC, and can confirm the updater is running, then this is likely a server load issue. Please try again.

We are getting additional server capacity so bear with us.

OK - I have the same problem - reinstall the Updater service but still get error 1053. The solution in my case was to change the service account from LocalSystem to my windows (Admin) logged-on account.

If anyone needs instructions for how to do this let me know.

All of my codes have been registered and show up as my owning them.

Shale though along with Wardens Keep are the only 2 showing available for DL which it states I have to pay points for.

If I have already proven with my registering the codes, why is Shale showing up as I need to pay for him ??

This is driving me crazy!           :o

All codes are showing up as redeemed on the web site.

In game, some content shows up in the "Available" tab, but wants me to use points.

DAUpdater log initially says:

DA Download Manager (DADM)    Attempting to connect to DADM Control Server!
DA Download Manager (DADM)    Connected to DADM Control Server!
DA Download Manager (DADM)    Successfully configured DADM!
         OnlineFeatures    Wallet balance requested.
         OnlineFeatures    Login successful.

After clicking "Refresh", the DAUpdater log shows the following entries:

         OnlineFeatures    Wallet balance requested.
         OnlineFeatures    Entitlements received: .

So the web site says I am entitled, but the game doesn't think I have any entitlements ... weird!

I've tried all the tips on previous pages with the same outcome, does anybody have any ideas?

I'm really getting desperated...

Bought Deluxe Edtion in the EAStore. Download & Activation of the game itself worked perfect...

BUT: I didn't get any codes for the DLC. They should arrive with an e-mail, right? :(

I only activated the "Lucky Ring". I'm not gonna pay extra for the 2 Quest-DLC!

Anyone else got this issue?

You're trying to install the service, and it's already present.

Are you trying to install the service or uninstall and re-install?

I have run the un-install instructions as listed above and then when trying to install it again I get that long winded message again

When trying to run the service to start I get the following:
D:\\Games\\Dragon Age Origins\\bin_ship>net start daupdatersvc
System error 1058 has occurred.

The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has n
o enabled devices associated with it.

Oh... you have the same error as some of the others from the last couple of pages.

I haven't seen that myself. Try something:

From Start > Run, type services.msc

In The Services commandlet, locate the Dragon Age Updater service. In a column to the right, what account is it running under? If you can't see this, bring up the service properties and look it up.
