Hello,

I'm sorry if this has already been brought up before but I was wondering if anyone could help me with this. I had uninstalled my game, and recently re installed it. I had the following dlc:
-The stone prisioner
-The edge
-Blood dragon armour
-Warden's keep
-Return to Ostagar.

Now, when I enter the game, I can't see any of my dlc. Do I have to re pay everything to be able to enjoy the dlc?

I can not find Shale in game ??. THX!!! Works for me. I first put there my Admin-Acc to start the updater. Then i get the 1053 Error/timeout. But after i log in as Local Service, it works. big thx!

I installed the new STEAM and after that I had to reinstall all my games 15~ ...



I Install DAO from the start but I cant see or donald the DLC that I bought ...

Hi,
I have a question for which I haven't been able to find a straight up yes or no answer.  I have DA:O with dlc but haven't installed it yet.  In the near future (after installing it) I want to put it on a new hard drive (an upgrade to Win 7 on a new hd).  will I be able to redownload the dlc, that is does it "belong to me" or is it somehow tied to my hard drive.

It might be a stupid question, but there is so much confusion with the dlc that I want to make sure before I open my copy and thus make it unreturnable.  It is so great that the user community has responded like this and at the same time so awful that bioware/EA hasn't.

Also, you'll want to confirm your service starts when you boot the game. A few users have reported they need to manually start their service for some reason.
1. In Windows, Press start
2. Run "services.msc"
3. Find and start "Dragon Age: Origins - Content Updater"
4. Restart game

Is it possible to download the DAUpdater separately? When I try to start the updater through services.msc it gives me the following message:



"Windows could not start the Dragon Age Origins Content Updater Service on Local Computer

Well, um, is the file there?  Go to the directory where the game installed and look in the bin_ship subdirectory.  The file is "daupdatersvc.service.exe".  If it is there, then run regedit and go to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SYSTEM\\CurrentControlSet\\services\\DAUpdaterSvc

On the right should be an item named "ImagePath".  Does that have the correct location of the file?

Might have been mentioned earlier but, I'll ask anyway.

I have a copy with redemption codes for two downloadable contents : The Blood Dragon Armor and the Stone Prisoner mission pack.

The problem is that I installed patch 1.03 before I downloaded the DLC. Now it won't let me install them.

Any work-arounds? Or any way to uninstall a patch?

i have stoen prisoner and it installs and everything , the guy agrees to give me the rod and mark the town on my map but when i leave the place there are no new locales on the map... i just bought the collectors addition on steam and redeemed the code. installed it and half teh time i get an unauthorisederror or somethign but logging in and out eventually authorise them. still doesn't explain why i cant fidn teh town from teh DLC

Possible workarounds:

Redeemed DLC Unofficial Troubleshooting and FAQ (that is, you know, this very thread?)


To uninstall that patch:

Uninstall the game.  Reinstall it. DO NOT install ANY PATCHES yet.  Now, install the DLC.  After that, get patch 1.02:

You won't be able to use the Feastday Gifts/Pranks, Awakening, and presumably the upcoming Darkspawn Chronicles, w/o 1.03 but all the other DLC will work.

Oh my god, I think you got it! You don't understand, I've been searching for an answer for almost 3 months. I once had the game installed in a separate folder, but after I made a new partition for games and reinstalled my steam client it changed the directory of the game, but that ImagePath was not updated. Thank you!

Well I have tried every suggestion listed here and still I can not log into the game server to get my DLC. I put my information in and when I click login it does nothing. Any more suggestions would be helpful.

Alright, I've been having a particular issue and have finally decided to post it considering EA Tech support is.. well depressingly awful.
Essentially, my DLC (Only the Stone Prisoner, Warden's Keep, Blood Dragon Armor, and The Edge) was installed and ran without a hitch. However, I installed the Toolset, played around with it for a bit, then when I went back to play DAO my DLC was listed as unauthorized on my account (The ONLY game account I have I might add) and my saved games were subsequently unplayable. The Downloads Tab also listed my DLC as installed but requiring purchase still, which confused me. I've had this issue since December, but I gave up on it shortly after trying and failing various solutions given by EA tech support (laughable at best) and then combing through this thread and trying the possible solutions.
I am using an ASUS gaming laptop, running Windows 7 English and have digitally installed the game through Steam.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, clearing the toolset completely (no traces, even in the registry), have done manual DLC installs (gave me the same issue after reinstalling 4 times), and have recently done a manual install, completely removing everything I could find involving Bioware and Dragon Age in my registry and on my C drive (hidden stuff included). Nothing has worked. All I want to is play a game that I only got half-way through then something released by BioWare/EA borked my game. So please, help me. My gratitude would be eternal.

Edit: I just noticed that my content updater is receiving an error 1058 - the service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it.
Also, in the services manager it is saying "Failed to Read Description. Error Code: 2" under description. Basically, I am assuming my content manager is frakked up, it won't even start when I try to do a manual start and my attempts at reinstalling are failing (Framework is saying it can't find a file to install for some reason). New query, how the hell do I get my content manager to work now?

I've updated my pc to its current drivers, all the software options, deleting and uninstalling everything to try a new install. but I could not get the shale dlc pack to work. I tried all the suggestions and nothing worked. I cannot get any of the ways for that service to start, its not blocked, its not firewalled. It is installed right, with a check of one program. I have windows XP pro, and any advice to what to do is appreciated, or i end up going to what a developer hates to hear happen, since It worked before.

This was a clean install, all registry and files removed, and purchased from a gamestop, not steam.

Ok, so here is my problem:



When I'm in Sepulchers Pass and i agree to take wand and go wake up Shale, I get nothing on the map. What's more, the problem began after reinstalling Windows ( I've got 7 ). None of my new characters can start any of mission-type addons. But when i loaded saved game from my old character ( with Shale and so on ), everything worked fine. But only on that saved game. It's pretty annoying when I can't start any of those addons, especially when earlier everything worked fine and the game was installed exactly the same way. I think that the problem lays in awakening addon or patch 1.03 ( when everything was just fine they weren't installed ). Can you help to resolve my problem?

I don't have the game installed nor do I plan to buy the DLC so I can't test much. I get the feeling some .dazip are missing but I don't have more time now. If people find more files, I'll add them to the first post too.
