One more thing. When I install the updater using one of the steps listed here, and try the 'net start DAUpdaterSvc' command, it says that 'the service is not responding to the control function'

An official EA help lists DA Updater malfunction as the reason for blank DLC tab. Have you tried all the ideas listed in the thread we are currently posting in?

 I see now I haven't tried to download the service.cmd

I need some technical support and the advanced knowledge of you all! A went through tha FAQ, but couldnt get the DLC-s working on my computer. I bought then online (Stone prisoner, Wardens Ceep, DSC, return to Ostagar), and manually downloaded them, because i had the blank windows, only my remining bioware points were shown there. No, after the manually install and using the daupdater, they seem to be there, but its forbidden to use and open them, because it writes out that they do not belong to my account, but to another one. I use my computer alone, i have only one ac**** with one email adress, and reinstalled the whole game and awakening twice... Im really getting hopeless...



Please, someone... Anybody. who has a sollution for me? Im using Win7 x64 professional, if its nesecerry to no...

umm...I'm running windows 7....and the file daupdater.exe doesn't exist on my computer. I've gotten other dlc to work, but leliana's song won't dl....any help would be appreciated

I think I love you, after 12 hours of trying to get my dlc to work I found this thread. After reading this through and following the tips evrything works, thanks alot

Within 5 minutes of reading this post, my problem was solved. Everything that was supposed to be authorized was, and things that I didn't have were downloading again (I re-installed due to a crash). Awesome work!

For the longest time I couldn't get it to work, then I realized I was typing "bin-ship" instead of bin_ship" in CMD... So much frustration over something so stupid. hahaha

I had the problem with downloadable content downloading to 100% but not installing. None of the things listed here worked. I finally opened DA:O to the Download tab of the Downloadable Content, then alt-tabbed to desktop and restarted the service while the game was still running. When I alt-tabbed back to the game, it began to extract and install. All is well .

I am so confused.. How do i know if my updater service is properly installed? Besides do i need to run it while i run the game?.. My problem is that nothing shows up, i know it is NOT a network problem because all my ports are open etc etc. Could someone try to help me, as i lack the basic knowledge about how this updater service should work, and HOW to reinstall it.. I would really appreciate any help.

Hey everyone who is having the Error 1053, after trying to press start over at the DA Content Updater.



Just basically go into "Log on" Tab after double clicking the DA Content Updater, change from the default "Local System Account" to the other one. Which is the one you use to DA.



I've found this solution after finding page 13 of this page, credited by Rusticmage!



Cheers! All downloads are back after I had to reformat my PC. So dam great now!

return to ostagar isn't another campain like DC go into your origins game and there should be a new area unlocked by the mages tower, go there and help the guy he'll tell you all about ostagar and send you there to retrieve all the items

Hi all - I'm at the end of my tether with this one. Everything worked fine until I was forced to reinstall Vista for unrelated reasons, but since then I'm getting the 'Install failed' message on every piece of DLC I attempt to install, whether through the game or the DAUpdater. There are no problems with the updater service as far as I can tell I've tried changing my regional settings from UK to US to no avail. I've tried deleting the download cache and the manifest.xml file but all it does it re-download 1GB of DLC and give me the same problem again, and my monthly data allowance is fast running out! It seems daft to keep asking after reading 84 pages but nothing seems to work - any more ideas?

I am having problems with my download content. I uninstalled the game, reinstalled Origins, patch update 1.04, Awakenings, and am having the problems with the download content. In a post about 9 months ago I now see that this doesn't fix the problem. What fixes the problem? I have WINDOWS XP Home and I have checked that I have minimum to recommended requirements for my system. I have tried alot of the fixes mensioned without success. Please HELP!

You have 'Hide file extensions for known files' turned on.  Navigate to the folder with the file and then click "Tools -> Folder options -> View -> 'uncheck' Hide extensions for known file types"

That should help you change the name of the file extension.

In Win7, push "Alt" in the file explorer view to bring up the menu bar (File/Edit/View/Tools/Help), it's hidden by default.

Thanks for that giant log of information! I had purchased the DLC onthe bioware site and when i entered the game and went to the DLC area everything was working fine but i needed patching done so I did that. Upon restarting the game after the patches were completed all the DLC stuff i had purchased were back on the list of things to buy. But after checking your steps 0.1.1 and 0.1.2 then forwarding to 3.2.1 and 3.2.2 then 3.2.4 every step made everything work like normal again.

Okay, I've got the DLCs installed (according to the "Downloadable content" menu in the game), they're enabled, I'm logged in but they're still not working in the game - there's no Honnleath (after speaking to Felix naturally), no extra items from CE or Blood Dragon Armor and no Warden's keep!



I bought the digital deluxe version, its fully updated, I've got Awakening as well (enabled but I'm playing the Origins part) and I'm running Windows XP SP3. I've removed the DLCs in accordance with 3.3.1 several times, tried it with the addition of 4.3 three times, reinstalled the whole game and all the DLCs once but to no avail. Furthermore I've logged in and out, enabled/disabled the DLCs a couple of times and tried running with only one or two DLCs enabled but still not working. Finally I tried the "save game, disable DLC, force load, save again, enable DLC and load"-trick (or whatever you'd call it) without any succes.



I'm at my wits end here - so far it seems I wasted a lot of money for a game that does nothing else than the standard version would do! Please help.
