I have reinstalled DAO Collectors Edition (Change from Vista to Win 7 64 and new HDD) via Steam.
First I got the unauthorized DLC Problem. No Problem since it was already installed, so logging out from the account helped out. Then I installed Lelianas Song DLC. It became unauthorized logged in and out. So I uninstalled the game completely, deleted the DA-Folder in My Documents, deleted the registry of DA and reinstalled it with steam running as admin.
Now I have no DLC visible in all three folders.
Updater Service is not visible in my services.msc (no matter if DA was running or not).
DAOrigins und DAUpdater are both set to run as admin.
Installing the updater service manually (pt. 3.2.3 always resulted in an installation error reading system.componentmodel.win32exception: service already existing (not exactly this error, as i translate it freely from german). starting the service manually gives me "system error 5 access denied". uninstalling it manually results in an error, saying that daupdater is not installed on local machine (but it is) and a denied access in system.componentmodel.win32exception. trying a manual install aufter this "unsuccessful" uninstall results in the same install error as mentioned above.
All Dragon Age execuables are set to firewall exception list. Deactivating the Firewall completely delivered no results.
somehow I am getting a little bit frustrated...
Edit: Here an excerpt from the newest log entries which shows errors:
OnlineFeatures Server Closed Status requested.

Edit2: Nevermind. ServicePack 1 and an update of my forceware driver solved the problem... finally

1. I know every DLC I purchased will be tied to my account here, but can I move the DLC files when I move to another computer? Like, I need to change my laptop pretty soon and internet connection is pretty scarce in my area so it would be better if I can move those files without having to download them all over again.
2. Which DLC takes place AFTER the last boss of Dragon Age Origins?
3. Can my characters be imported to Dragon Age 2?

Alright, my questions are :
In order:
1) You can load DLC into any game that is registered to your account. However, I am not aware if you can do a wholesale copy of everything to another machine. You can, however, manually download the DLC for later installation, if that helps. See: http://dragonage.wik...ent_(Origins)
2) Lil's Song is a prequel, Darkspawn Chronicles is an "alternate ending" of Origins, Golems of Amgarrak and Witch Hunt take place chronologically after Origins and Awakening. Stone Prisoner, Warden's Keep, Return to Ostagar are tied to the main Origins plot and accessed in game as quests.
3) Characters will not be imported into DA2 per se... you Warden will not appear. However, what you accomplished (how you saved Fereldan, who is king in Denerim, who rules in Orzammar) will affect DA2 somewhat. The full extent is not clear. In a chat today, the developers confirmed that you don't have to complete an entire play-through or Origins or Awakening to import... any save game will transfer the historical data accumulated up to the point at which it is saved. For example, if you import a game that was saved before a king was choosen in Ferelden, then DA2 will make the choice for you.

1. I'll try that when opportunity comes, thank you
2. I see, then maybe I'll take Witch Hunt, Golems of Amgarrak and Awakening~
3. I see, that is unfortunate, I grew accustomed to my characters already. lol!
Thanks alot, Raen

My pleasure. A note about #2: You cannot import characters *from* the DLC back into either Awakening or Origins. However, the achievements from those DLC will put the bonus items into the main games, if that makes sense. Exporting characters to the DLC is a one-way street. So if you're trying to come up with the most complete saved-game possible for DA2, you need to Awakening, then Witch Hunt. I don't believe Golems of Amgarrak actually creates a final save, so there's nothing in that DLC that will carry over into DA2.

What mission or journal entry corresponds to what DLC?
--In my Journal "within" the game I see only a Sulchers Pass entry under "Premeium Content"
---example again, so not ever playing the game before..wiill this mission above start Stone prisoner etc.. or Wardens Keep? And should I see another item under Premium Content in the Quest Journal?
Note* I am asking this as I only have purchased 1. Stone Prisoner, and 2. Wardens Keep, but I only see 1 item in the journal at this time (Sulchers Pass). (still at very beginning of game, so not sure if the second one will show up later or I should see 2 items in journal right from the start)

Can anyone please let me know or provide a list of how each DLC actually shows up as in the game itself? For example. On my PC version under DLC before I load into the actual game all my DLC shows good and enabled. (no issues with that) but within the game itself how can I confirm they are actually working?

Sulcher pass should be on your world map, and that starts the Stone Prisoner quest. Wardens Keep can only be triggered when you are in camp. There should be a man standing there who will ask you to help him at the keep.
Make sure you have downloaded and installed these two side quests before you play. You can find them in downlodable content in the start part of your game, where you log in.

thank you for the reply Schalafi. So although I might confirm that Wardens Keep is installed and enabled on the downloadable content at the beginning of the game , what would you suggest I start to check if the NPC is not present in the camp? Does this man only show up after Lothering? I am still at the very start of the game.
Yes, you don't have access to the camp until after Lothering. If he's not there, you might
check the box in the Journal, the one that says downloadable content. Warden's Peak should be listed there. Also when you're on line at the Social Club check "Profile" and make sure the game is listed in your "registered game content".

We have a preview application that contains a number of the DA Updater fixes for the upcoming PC Patch.<br />
You can try it out and see if it helps solve your problems in the meanwhile.<br />
If you do, please let me know if it helps.<br />
http://supportfiles....tic_beta.exe<br />
<br />
<br />
Also, you'll want to confirm your service starts when you boot the game. A few users have reported they need to manually start their service for some reason.<br />
1. In Windows, Press start<br />
2. Run "services.msc"<br />
3. Find and start "Dragon Age: Origins - Content Updater"<br />
4. Restart game<br />

Thank for the replies! I guess I just jumped the gun and got worried by reading all the issues on the forums...You answered my question , and when I finished up @ Lothering last night and went to camp a whole bunch of DLC items popped up including the man for Wardens keep, so all is working well for me thank you for the help.

Edit: Nevermind that was a stupid question. Manual status is fine, install on the service must have been faulty initially, no need to set it to auto. Thanks again for the great guide!
Also remember, you can right click your folder path for the DAUpdate service by browsing to the directory. Select "copy address". When you are in the command prompt selecting your "installutil" path, you can just right click the command prompt window and select "paste" (do NOT use Ctrl+V, shortcut keystrokes dont work in the command prompt) to put the entire directory in there quickly and easily. If you installed via the EA Download manager as I did, the folder path might be long and convoluted to type out, should save you a headache.
I'd also like to applaud both Bioware and the community here for their repeated and helpful responses to technical related glitches and faulty installs. I've spent three days trying to help a buddy out who's stuck in EA Download Manager hell (seriously whoever designed that needs to be smitten with something large and blunt) free torrenting clients do a better job of tracking and resuming downloads.. and their support is profoundly unhelpful at best, and non-existent the rest of the time. I was able to help him locate and configure port assignments and correct a number of installation problems with help from all of you guys and these great guides. Getting the information I needed to fix his problem from their chat sessions was impossible. You guys made my day. Thanks a lot!
