OK if you say so
Spoilers for ep. 17
The revelation of who the green haired girl is was a nice twist, but if she's been playing ALO a whole year I would think Kirito would have known.
The new bad guy is a he is a terrible character and is dragging the story down.
His whole plan is so generic that I was able to guess all of his lines in this episode before he said them.
If he is the main villain for this "arc" then this "arc" only needs 5-6 episode to tell it story, any more then that and IMO the story will start to drag.

*spoilers*
Yeah he is a bit of a downer, but he's the type of character that people love to hate. I hate him with a passion and therefore consider him to be well written. It adds an element of desperation to the story and you commit all your emotion into it. Maybe he's a little predictable but it's got me cheering on Kirito, hoping he'll save her.

True he is a character your supposed to hate, but he feels out of place in this story.
I mean we went from a guy that made a whole game just to test people and played the game with them, to this guy?
It's like if in DBZ after the Cell games Lelouch from code geass pops up and tries to take over the world. Is Lelouch a well written character IMO yes he is, but he would not fit in DBZ story. ( and yes I know that is basically the plot of the first half of DBGT, but that besides the point.)
Now that I think about it the reason I hate his character so much is that the first villain had such a strong character and his reveal was so well done the the new guy feel like a downgrade in comparison.
I still love this show, however everytime I see him I will hope something kills him.

I think he will be one of those villains that will continue to grow and we'll hate more and more, somehow I think there'll be a bigger plot twist that will keep us on our toes. Who knows?

This thread exploded nicely. After reading everything I agree pretty much what all of you have said. And thanks for the novel link! I'll check them out later.
I do think Kirito's ALO hair looks way too much like Zack Fair's from Crisis Core FFVII though. XD. I mean look.

Haha it is quite similar, isn't it? Wow.
Then again, I suppose it's a pretty generic hair style too for Asian based games - well anything XD

IKR? Zack even gets that uniform changed with a black one eventually. But anyway back to SAO.
I currently have these as backgrounds for my iPad.

Oooooh very nice! I especially love the second one, the colours are beautiful!
While we're sharing~

There's a lot of really good quality SAO fan art there lately which is great to see

Damn, Asuna's HP is maxed out.

I bet during the earlier floors, since Kirito was so over levelled compared to everyone else his growth stagnated due to all the weak enemies. By the time strong enough monsters showed up, everyone on the front lines would have been at a similar level to him.

Yeah, but like Heathcliffe (spelling?) said, he expected Kirito to be the hero, and Kirito was the one who beat him. I assume that even though they leveled out a bit near the end, Kirito was probably still significantly stronger. Fighting on the front lines alone for as long as he did makes sharing EXP totally void, so I can't imagine he wouldn't be getting something out of it.

Say we never did find out Asuna's unique skill. Wonder what it is?

SAO data did go into the new show. Perhaps she'll get it there? Then again, Kirito lost dual-wielding...
I hope he gets something great to replace that. That was too awesome.

He'll probably just regain the skill.

Seems odd to remove it if that's the case though.

Lol, I honestly dunno. Maybe the skill had compatibility issues with ALO like all his items.

I'm surprised his entire character isn't a massive walking bug.
Oh but Yui is there at least. I can totally get over Kirito's hair with Yui. I missed that girl.

Yui did say to keep his abilities hidden around the game GMs.
I'm wondering if Yui's appearance is based off of someone in the real world of SAO? Don't think Kayaba had any kids...

I wonder if getting banned or something will be a threat often?
Possibly. Does seem odd to make a little girl at the center of your data network. Then again, she's supposed to monitor players right? No one would be scared of an innocent looking girl like that. They'd probably let her observe them without even knowing.

Yeah, true death isn't a threat in ALO unlike SAO. The biggest threat to Kirito right now is being banned from the game itself.
As for Yui,, the villagers thought she was a ghost.

This season is probably going to be a lot less focused on those desperate life-or-death moments because of that. It seems more like a drama this time around, which is fine too.
I always felt like it was just coincidence that they found her while looking for a ghost. I mean, not entirely coincidence, since she wanted to meet them, but I didn't think the ghost stories were referring to her.
I could be wrong though.

Considering how glowy and pale she was when they found her, I'm willing to bet she was actually the ghost people were referring to.

Like I said, I thought it was just coincidence. Like, it was just there to freak out Asuna. Add a little humor to the episode. 'Cause she was expecting a ghost.
