The age of consent in Japan is 13. Asuna is 17. I think she's probably old enough to marry.

Yeah that's what I was thinking.

I don't remember who said it but there was a bit of dialogue where it was stated that him marrying Asuna is illegal. Maybe that was just the English trans trying to spice the dialogue up a bit.

13? Who the hell would throw there life away at that age?

Maybe they meant that without her consent was illegal rather than marrying her for her age? So her father is consenting on her behalf or something?

As for 13, I guess different countries have different cultures and priorities. To us it might seem really weird and too young but to them maybe not? It's probably seen as normal to get married that young.

In ancient times, when the uh... 'red flower blooms' it meant a girl became a woman and was therefore ready for all the responcibilites that came with such.

It explains all the anime pedophiles. They're just creepers, not actual pedophiles according to Japanese law.

"Age of consent" refers to sexual activity whilst marrying isn't (strictly) related to that.

wikipedia 5-second wonders:
Marriageable age - Japan: 20, 18 for males and 16 for females with parental consent.

"The age of consent in Japan is 13. Asuna is 17. I think she's probably old enough to marry."

I never said the age of consent and the age required before marriage were the same thing. I used deductive reasoning, and made an educated guess based on what the age of consent was. My reasoning; "If you've reached the age of consent by 13, surely you can marry by 17."

I was right. You don't have to come into a thread about a show you hate just to call us stupid.

Anyway, I watched episode 17, and it was a good one. I don't understand all the hate for the new villain. And I don't mean what you're thinking. I hate him too, but only because he's a bastard. Not because I think he's a bad villain.

Honestly, the fact that he gets me so frustrated is just proof that he's good at playing the bad guy. Hopefully he'll contine to ****** me off, so I'll feel even better about it when Kirito smashes his face in.

Also, I'm really glad Yui is getting so much screen time. I was really bummed out that she got so little in the last season.

He came out of nowhere. His debut seemed forced. He is just another plot device for Kirito to go back into a virtual world and save the damsel in distress.

I don't think he's out of no where as we don't know anything about Asuna's RL - he could have been there all along. I think he's well written, he makes you hate him and side emotionally with Kirito and Asuna. I don't think we can really judge what sort of villian he is until we see more of him. Who knows there could be some kind of diabolical twist that changes your mind?

Well, isn't that kinda what every villain is? Something forced into the plot for the sake of conflict?

How many episodes do you think we'll get out of this season? I highly doubt it will be as long as the last one was, considering it will encompass a week at the least.

I'm thinking about the same tbh, maybe 14-15 eps, not sure why other than the fact that I haven't seen any time skips yet?

That's just it, the wedding is in a week, they can't really add any timeskips can they?

Well, 17 alone was all in one night. The writers might even have noticed that time-skips were bothering people in the last season. Perhaps they're doing less of them for that very reason?

Also because Kirito is on something of a time-limit here.

I get the feeling Asuna's going to break out of that cage. It was even hinted at when she tried to look at the keypad being used. She can't be stuck in there the whole season after all.

Of course not. The season may even be longer than a week, since Asuna and Kirito could escape together. It could drag on for quite awhile.

After rewatching the last two episodes I think he can be a good villain, but the way they set up his plan is kind of bad.

Because if I'm following his plan right when everyone woke up from SAO he grabed 300 people from the system including the daughter of the CEO of a huge company that he is in line to marry and nobody thought to look at him as the culprit?

The man who has the most to gain out of this whole situation, the man who is the system administrator of a game that uses the same tech as the game that put 11,000 people in a coma for 2 years, the man with a small team that beside him no one knows what they are doing.

Family friend or not he should be a huge suspect.

And didn't Kirito tell the Police that everyone should have woken up so why didn't they you look at the man in charge of the system that was holding everyone hostage?

Sorry. That wasn't my intent. At all. :crying:

Furthermore, I don't hate the series. I haven't even watched it (and didn't comment about it here).

Thirdly, I wasn't addressing you, I was talking about the misconceptions after your comment. And no harm nor downwardlooking meant, honest.

Fair enough.

But soultaker65,I'll have to rewatch those then too, because I honestly can't think of anything as an answer. I guess I didn't pay too much attention to his ultimate goal.

I'll get back to you on it later.

Think we'll bump into previous characters again like Liz and Sillica? We've already seen Egil.

Well, with Egil keeping in touch with Kirito, I'd imagine the others are all friends still too. Odds are, with Asuna turning up, and Kirito coming back into the MMO scene, they'll all have a reason to get together again. They spent two years together after all.

There's a problem when searching for art and stuff, you can run into some spoilerish thanks to the novels. Tell you though, didn't expect Leafa to be his sister.

I kinda felt it coming... Leafa seemed way too familiar with Kirito. Even though neither of them know who they are, they like... I dunno. Leafa acted like his sister. I just felt like I saw it commin'.

Yeah, I saw. Same with Toradora, although that one's already out.

I wish they'd start releasing this games for us too. Then again, SAO isn't as unknown as Toradora is. I'm expecting a dub soon, and maybe we'll get the game too.
