Haters, stop being an ass.

But don't be an ass about it.
I was wandering the dead threads, when I saw a locked thread. I won't name the thread, so I don't start a flame war.
Anyway, the OP pretty much shoved their opinion down everyone's throat. The first part was them saying something, and basically stating their opinion. That's fine. I read on. Some people didn't agree. But the last straw was when someone stated THEIR opinion. They didn't agree with the OP. They actually liked Bioware.
Then the OP came in. They started their new post by quoting that post. They didn't agree, of course. They then called the other poster a "CoD/Battlefield fanboy". They then were a total smartass, when they said, "Not that I'm judging you based on your opinion, but I am," or something to that effect.
Note that I'm excited about DA3, and liked DA2, despite its many flaws. I'm not really a fan of Call of Duty at all. Nor Battlefield. Story is the most important thing for me in video games, unless it's a game like Skyrim, in which case gameplay and environmental interaction are the most important.
Basically, what I'm trying to say is, don't be a total ass to anybody based on opinion. It may be human bias (if someone said the same thing based on somebody hating Bioware, I might've applauded). But in any case, haters, or lovers, don't be an ass.

Yeah, it is weird. But it's like people who troll YouTube channels and insult bands or series or people they don't like... why are they there then? I dunno.
I think people are just bored and/or avoiding work (raises hand) so they come to the BSN. And a lot of them are pretty uneducated and/or don't have any manners. The worst are uneducated and don't have manners lol

Seems relatively nice to me. Especially in comparison to the thread he made before that one. I even more or less agree with the substance of the post in question, if this is indeed the thread. RPGs are more than a good story.

No, it's not the right thread.

If you can't be skeptical or critical without being vindictive, then you should not be here.

Hmm. An opinionated poster insulting someone for being a console gamer happens too often to narrow down.
Found some of my own posts.

I also have no patience for haters. It is just another form of trolling. Criticism is fine but the vindictive hating, the demands for devs to be fired, or the hopes that a studio goes bankrupt is just garbage polluting these forums.

Or maybe you should grow a thicker skin and man up?

Sorry not all of us feel the need to sugar coat things for you. If that makes us haters to you so be it. The truth is it makes you a softie.
Sorry. I can't understand this statement. Sugar coating? Sugar coating what? How does it make me a softie? What makes me a softie in the first place?
Are you talking about sweet rolls? If so, you might want to go to another thread for that.

That's not a "truth" - it's merely your opinion, and perhaps your attempt to insult someone.augustburnt wrote...

People will have different perspectives and expectations for any game. I think there is value in trying to come to a even middle ground to discuss what we like or don't, and to do so in a civil manner.

I like this statement. I really don't understand the need to hate other people for liking different video games. Are people that like action games really worse people than those that like RPGs. And why limit oneself to only one type of game? A good game is a good game, whether it is an RPG or an action game. I would have missed out on so many great games if I had only played RPGs, my favorite type of game.
Seriously, if following the thinking of some posters on this board I should really hate both my sister and brother since they love playing games that I hate..

About half the human race, and many of the finest posters here, feel absolutely no need to 'man up'. It word be a sad world indeed, not to mention a rapidly unpopulated one, if everyone manned up.
Not to mention thick skin fights against the silky smooth feel that's getting harder and harder to obtain, even with good cleansing practice and liberal use of anti-aging products.
When you get older, you will understand both of these points.

I wonder why there are haters in this board in the first place. Isn't this made for fans?}
Nothing is nerd ragier and more flammable than person disappointed with a game. It takes a fan to manage the feeling of disappointment to something as trivial in grand scheme of things as a video game. People rage because they care. 9 times out of 10 it serves no purpose at all..save for being odd creepy therapy of sorts to the rager in question.
Having said that, I pretty firmly believe various and numerous expressions of unconditional hatred towards DA2 is best thing BWN community could do to DA3.

Yeah. I play a lot of Team Fortress 2 and Minecraft, but mostly RPGs. I'm not that big a fan of Call of Duty because it just isn't my type of game. They're good for other people, of course.
For example, I'm not really a fan of JRPGs or Mario, but they're great games for other people, so I don't complain.

Or just sit there silently laughing at people who have nothing better to do with their time and stick around to blindly hate on something.
Criticism is fine, its how things progress. But unconditional hate and zero logic and lack of decency?
"Derp derp I hate BW so so much! They should go and ??? yet all the while I'll stick around for an entire year not moving from the screen, cause I hate them so much!"
Yea... no... just.. go.

People looove putting themselves into groups, then disparaging other groups while praising their own because it makes them feel better. Football teams, political parties, console ownership - People who like X thing I don't are stupid fratboys and people who like Y thing I do are erudite connoisseurs of sophisticated entertainment.
Absolutely frickin' guarantee that every group has at least one person that does this, if not most of them. PS3/Xbox owners, Democrats/Republicans, Green Bay/Giants fans - without fail, the very act of agreeing with them makes you a fellow genius while disagreeing with them makes you a morally corrupt ****.
