All of my game settings are set to the default with the exception that I have
persistent gore unchecked.
I have no peripherals of any kind other than
the standard MS official wireless controllers. I am consistently getting
corrupted saves every time I get my characters up to the landsmeet portion of
the game, between levels 17 and 20.
I am completely unable to get through
the landsmeet portion of hte game without getting corrupted saves. How am I
supposed to continue. I cannot delete all my saves and start over every
time.

Hi,
Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts.
I'm sorry to hear
you are experiencing difficulties, and apologize for any
inconvenience.
Sometimes certain configurations can conflict with your
game. Set any controller, sound, and video settings to their default setting.
This can be done deleting the game's settings information from the hard drive.
Try playing the game again.
This could also be an issue involving corrupt
game save files. You will need to remove game related save data by following the
below given steps.
1. Power on the Xbox without a game disc inside to
display the Xbox dashboard.
2. Select Memory and press A
3. Select Hard
Disc and press A
4. Scroll through the save games until you find your
specific game.
5. Press the A button while selecting a files to delete
them.
6. Confirm deletion when prompted.
7. Repeat until you no longer see
any of the game files left on the Xbox hard disc.
8. Restart system with game
inside. Try running your game again.
This issue can also be due to any
NON-OFFICIAL Peripherals connected to your console. Please unplug all
non-official peripherals connected to your console. The easiest way to ensure
this is to unplug any peripherals except for the official licensed controllers
that came with the system. This includes any memory cards or network adaptors.
When the console is starting up it will calibrate the controllers. Do not move
the thumb sticks or press any of the buttons until the EA logo
appears.
If you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to
reply to this email.
Thank you,
Damien

I am getting an error message trying to load my saved games. The save file
appears damaged and cannot be loaded.
Every save game I have is now
giving me this error. Is there anything to do to recover my saved
games?
I am currently in Denerim during the Landsmeet portion of hte game
if that matters at all.

The only thing I've found in message threads concerning corrupted saves is there is apparently some problem with vendors having too many items. Since I sell everything to the dwarf in camp that sounds like my problem but I've lost 6 hours of gameplay twice now and am not about to try again unless Bioware admits this a glitch and provides a patch and/or work around.
Hope you are able to find a solution.

If GameStop would take back the game I would return it in a heartbeat. I am royally ticked at this.

Many retailers of the game will give you a full refund/credit if you take the game back and explain the situation...it worked for me. I will not spend another minute playing the game, as great as it is, until the problem is fixed. So I would suggest spending $60, but more importantly 60+ hours elsewhere for now. Also it might give some incentive for Bioware/EA or whoever the hell this "falls on" to acknowledge the problem and that they are working on it, when they are getting multiple games returned from their retailers, such as walmart, costco etc. because "customer claims game does not work due to glitches in software". Good luck.
Makes the most sense. I can't see EA/BW putting any more effort into the console version of this game, not with ME2 and SW:TOR around the corner. As it is the PC version has already been patched twice. I'm holding out for the first patch, nearly THREE months after the game release, but if nothing is fixed by ME2 release I may as well try your idea and see if I can get the refund to pay for ME2.
Regardless, I will never buy a PC to console port from EA/BW again!

You do realize all those projects are assigned to different teams? BioWare have already said they're working on console title updates, but they have to wait for it to go through certification. They still haven't said what will be in the first title update down to the letter, so it is a little early to be playing conspiracy theorist, don't you think? The reason the PC version has been patched is because they don't have to send it off to Sony or Microsoft to get it certified. As for your latter statement, hopefully you will appreciate how your PC counterparts feel when other developers behave the other way around with substandard PC versions. It is most unfortunate that the console builds of DA:O aren't working optimally but at least BioWare have acknowledged it and they are working on it.

How many savegames do you have? Savegamefolder can easily be over 1GB for one char alone. And it didnt realize when my HD was full ,it just created empty slots. Until i deleted something.

So you think. Its more likely the case they are working on DLC and the expansion coming out in March. Remember its EA/BW, now not BW. Considering the lack of response to anything in this sub-forum I believe its legitimate to question whether EA/BW even cares about this version of the game.
Given the amount of time EA/BW has had to fix this game, if the patch does not work I will be returning the game and demanding a refund.

That response is complete BS. I am having the exact same problem. Any save that I do while in Denerim gets corrupted. I have one good save in camp but if I do any quests in Denerim and save again it is corrupt. Can't be the DLC because that would effect every save. I have not done any exploits to get more gold, just played the game.
The only thing I've found in message threads concerning corrupted saves is there is apparently some problem with vendors having too many items. I found a workaround for my corrupt game save. I confirmed there is indeed a bug with selling too many items to one vendor. I opened the save that worked and then sold all my inventory to Bodahn in camp. I then created a new save. When trying to load this new save I received the corrupt file error. I then relaoded the good save and this time went to Denerim to sell all my inventory to Durin. After creating a new save I was able to load it successfully. It did take a long time to load though. Since then I've been buying back eveything I could make use of from Bodahn. This appears to have helped. Since he resets his inventory after the Lands Meet I hope I can finish now.
Good luck.

Thanks for doing the hard yards and working out the bug. Two more days before I start up DA:O again. I'll make sure to keep an eye out for this one just in case.

Yeah I know. But how else do you post a follow up? I am not fully versed on all these new forms of communication. I'm happy to report I was able to finish the game with my work around.

I have found the same issue as well, tested many saves and many corrupted saves, it is indeed the selling of to much stuff to the vendor in your camp. I kept saving and loading after every step I took and when I hit the selling of stuff to the vendor all hell broke loose with the saves, you can still sell to that vendor but just make sure you dont dump to much on him.

I fully understand temporarily saving everything you buy and sell while the transaction is open just in case you sell something you didn't want to sell, or buy something you didn't want to buy. However, once you close the vendor everything you sold should disappear from his inventory. I have never come across a game that saved the transactions FOREVER. Most have an "only while the transaction/store interface is currently open" system for buyers/sellers remorse, if they have a system in place for buyers/sellers remorse at all.
If Bioware feels it necessary for vendors to keep sold loot after the transaction is closed, there should be a cap. Something like the last 25 items you sold, anything older gets purged.
Seriously, selling worthless crap you loot from dead enemies is the #1 way to acquire/accumulate money, in my experience. This needs a fix.

The only time I've known the game to corrupt saves, is when you use the money glitch, so I imagine it's your own fault.
