I've been wondering - and this kinda started with Eiton - but...how does one know if they're born tranquil?

If born tranquil, can they be trained as warriors? What if they're touched by a Spirit much later in life? Do they lose their physical prowess as strength that they trained and honed over the years in the wake of their newfound magic?

If they wanted to not be a mage, could a seal be placed on their magic and allow for them to continue being a warrior?

What do you guys think?

I'm not entirely sure I follow. Are you asking if the Tranquil could be trained to fight? Or are you asking if a trained fighter made Tranquil would remain an effective warrior? Or are you asking something else entirely?

To my knowledge, a tranquil is a mage who has their connection to the fade cut off. This is known as the rite of tranquility. I do not think that one can be born tranquil.

A tranquil might make a good warrior because they are emotionless. Having said that, who knows whether emotion, like anger for example, is necessary for a warrior.

I think they realise that someone is born tranquil by observing that the person is not showing any emotions. May be the baby won't cry. LOL. As far as I know, such tranquil births are rare, Eiton being the only one that I'm aware of.
I guess they can't be mages, as their fade connection is already severed by birth. Perhaps they can train as warriors but as ReluctantGangster mentione above, may be some emotions like anger, fury, rage, revenge are required for being a deadly warrior, so the tranquil warrior may not excel much in combat. Or may be they can.

@ReluctantGangster: Eiton in Dragon Age: Legends was born tranquil.

@Blazomancer: Hmm...I suppose they'd make good assassins, since by lacking remorse, they'd make effective killers. But according to Asunder, Pharamond discovered that tranquility can be cured through having their mind touched a Spirit/Demon. I wonder if it applies to born tranquils too?

But I do wonder that if he had been trained as a warrior, and, by chance, was touched by a Spirit/Demon that reversed it... Would it be possible to reseal his magic and keep his emotions, while continuing down the path of the warrior.

Hmm, yes, they would certainly look good as cool headed assassins, and they would probably be more accurate in aiming their arrows as their hands won't tremble.

I haven't read Asunder yet, nor The Stolen Throne for the matter of fact. I shoud get them soon.

But if I may try my luck at guessing, it might work like a person in the real world who has lost his/her memory. I mean those people forget many memories related to past events and such, but they don't really forget the language they speak, how to ride a bicycle, or some skills they might have acquired in course of his/her life. The tranquil may react in the same way to such an ordeal, lol, i guess it would depend on the biology of a tranquil.

Noone is born as a Tranquil. The Right of Tranquility is exercised upon a mage who turns into a tranquil.

Wow, I didn't know that. The latest information I knew about tranquil was in Dragon Age Asunder...

Ohhh, that's an interesting thought actually. :D I never thought about it that way. Makes me wonder about when they are "cured" though. They say they're more emotional post-tranquil state, which make me curious about their transition back into normalcy.
