Are they going to just say "He's/She's gone missing". Are they gonna make him/her mute. Are they gonna hide hi's/her face under a helmet. Are they gonna get him a voice actor.
Personally I think the best case scenario would be that they would use the Origins imported face and get him/her different voice actors for genders and races but I highly doubt it will happen.

The easiest way would be to just mention the W in a codex entry. No hassle with faces or voices.

I read somewhere that they said that the new Protagonist might meet the Warden or Hawke.

Do it with save imports or dont do it at all. I dont want bioware making the warden something my warden wasnt.

To escape the voicing conundrum, Bioware could have the warden's tongue pulled out before you meet him/her. >:)

There's a problem with using an imported warden. DAO was almost completely moddable. Many PC players played it with modded wardens. That might make it tricky to import.

Why would they need to meet the warden or hawke? ... Everything doesn't always need to be connected. Makes the world seem way too small.

Just have them mentioned by random npcs or w/e.

its after the WH dlc just left hte wardens story opened

Its was a two way scenario, one where you walk into the eluvian, the other where you walk away.

the last one is what makes the wardens stoy pretty much open for future PC.

And there will be  an engine change too.

I hope Bioware include a warden/hawke generator as part of the import option, so we can build the old characters faces in the new game. Yes, it would be a spoiler, but I accept that.
As for the warden's voice, it should be possible to get different actor that fits the DAO voices. Assuming its a cameo, it cant be that expensive.

They didn't care enough to allow the correct import of ME2 Shep face to ME3 (was that ultimately patched?).

Would they REALLY care enough to let us customize the face of previous protagonists in the series who make an appearance (proabably brief - don't think they'll be party members or crucial NPCs) in DA3?

I doubt it.

I can understand people wanting to see them, but I agree with this. The games are separate stories told within a single continent, they don't need to have everybody everywhere, it makes it feel too small.

This was a large complaint about Mass Effect 2. How there are all of these systems, planets and cities, yet everybody you know seems to live/be on Illium. It bordered on the ludicrous.

That's not to say that meeting Hawke/Warden will be bad if it happens, but considering they will probably give the Origins, Awakening and DA2 cast cameos as well...

I really hope they don't do all that again like ME2 and 3.

Most likely it's going to be people talking about the Warden. That or you find some items that refers to the Warden and his/her companions.

Fact: No one (outside of Bioware) knows the answer to that question.
Fact: Bioware isn't telling.

So, every single post on this thread is just idle speculation and wishing.

Annnnd end up looking like mess in DA3
I wouldn't mind if they used a default apperance for the warden. I really wounldn't mind if the Warden didn't appear at all.
I'm afraid my warden will have a disproportion face  and look nothing like DA:O since my game is heavily modded for appearances.

As for the whole "modded warden" thing ... tough. You KNEW when you made your Warden using a mod that they wouldn't be able to use that appearance in future games. My main Warden wears modded armor. And if he ever appears again, I know he won't be wearing that armor. Because it was a mod. Accept that, and move on.

There's no need for the Warden to appear again, especially given the  Word of God declaring the end of the character's story arc and the incredible difficulty (if not outright impossibility) of transferring a customized Warden from the first game into the new game's engine. I don't think most people want a default appearance for the Warden and the helmet idea is slightly silly, IMHO.

I think seeing Hawke again would be more likely.

Yes, this I agree with. I'd rather not see my Warden at all, if the alternative is a mute guy in an opaque helmet.

I think it's more likely that Warden and Hawke will just be passing mentions again. People don't like the idea of the default and everyone had their own head cannon for how stories end. Keeping it vague is probably the only way to keep people satisfied.

I'm starting to get the feeling that the Warden is going to get killed off screen. Since Gaider changed the average lifespan from 30 years to 10-5 before the Warden departs for their callings, I think we can all see where he's going with this. (Dragon Age 3 will be 10 years after Origins.)

And the whole "The Warden is our character now!" statement kind of supports this. He wouldn't be making this comment unless they're doing something they know we're going to dislike.
