Actually, he visits Highever with his mom, which is the friend of Tyerna. You will find that she is killed out-right in the guest room when the PC and mom fights off the invaders in the family quarter.

I suspect they are separate. You may need to modify the attribute requirement of the talents and items also.

Hey lotion got Jowans personal plot fin. well most of it

I've gone over the Ideas in project Disscussion and have made a personal quest for Jowan. Haven't written dialogue yet but this is what I have: (for any other origin exept mage) As you begin to get closer to him you start to notice he Is lost in thought and is usually deppressed. You ask him what is wrong and why he's deppressed all the time.Jowan tells you about his girlfriend, can't think of her name off the top of my head, and what happened in the circle how he was kicked out and she was taken by the chantry. He tells you that he never heard of her again. So you go on a quest to look for her Lilliana tell you that she heard of her and that she sought refuge in Lothering. Here it gets more complicated have many ideas about where this can go.

My ideas are:

#1:Mercenaraies and bandits took her to a small camp near lothering hidden from the darkspawn horde. When you travel with your party, with Jowan in it, to the incampment see theres a few tents around a fire. you see that three mercanaries have her cleaning and making food while the perverted mercenaries laugh and whistle at her one maybe slaps her and when Jowan sees that he unleashes a blast of energy (maybe lightning blasts, Mind blasts that knocks out the three mercenaries then a group of mercenaries and bandits come out their tents and you guys fight after. Jowan and his "girl" make-up maybe she could sell stuff at camp. Haven't gotten that far.

I found out he can be in your room to. I thought i'd try to see what would happen.

The reason they visit is because Dairren is riding with your father as his second.

I have no idea what will happen to them if they are not in your room, there's no mention of them after that.
I would think his father will want to know what happened to them, but I don't remember meeting him.

I like the idea and the base of it could be used in all origins, as a mage he doesnt have to explain Lily as you were there, but the idea would still fit. You could alter it by asking if he's thinking of Lily instead of asking whats wrong.

I'm curious to know what else you come up with. If you would like to go further into it that is.

My writing creativity is a bit drained these last few day and the weekened wasn't very fruitfull...Did make great progress on a very interesting cutscene :P



Soon I'll make a Builder-To-Builder Export of some of hte stuff.

Wow. This is a very neat-sounding project. I like the ideas expressed here a lot. The addition of a mage companion is especially welcome. I had read that Bioware had initially planned for Jowan to be a companion character whom you could "draft", using the Right of Conscription, once you had completed the Urn/Arl Eamon story arc.

Having additional Gray Warden possibilities also widens the field for alternate endings. ;)

One of my favorite things about your mod is the possibility of A. rejoining your party, say, at the gates of Denerim -- assuming he's stomped off in a huff at the Landsmeet.

I really like the idea of him just "showing up" in that free-for-all before the gates with an "I'm ... very sorry. I hated the decision you made to spare Loghain, but .... I should have trusted you. I want to help you now, if you'll let me -- if you can forgive me, that is."

I just completed my third run-through of the game, this time opting to spare L., and I have to say that losing A. was wrenching, although I can understand why he left. Still, he seems, characterwise, like someone who would ultimately place his friendship with the PC over his own desire for revenge.

Personally, if I could alter the game in any  way (and I am NO programmer, alas), it would have been to (1) add a companion mage character, preferably one drafted into the GWs and (2) add a way to keep both L. and A. with you there at the end.

Some of the other ideas here I like as well, particularly the ability to get certain Origins characters as companion characters: I would have liked it, for example, if you could have recruited Dairren/Iona/Gilmore, Leske, Gorim, Soris, Tamlen/Merrill, or Cullen/Niall/some other mage (depending on your own origin story). I think having *both* Jowan and Lily as recruitables might lead to "story/compatibility headaches." (Jowan -- or a mage character like him -- needs to be available for all players, imo.)

It seems feasible that any of these additional characters might work as an added companion character whom you run into in Denerim, the Cirle Tower, Lothering, the Brecilian Forest, or Redcliffe, with perhaps only the one who appeared in the PC's own origin showing up.

I think I've gotten the hang of the level editor..a bit... at least the external areas.



I did some modification and further testing to what I did with Iona. Made improvements. You start in noble clothing without weapons, but you get an armor stand and weapons in your room.

As for Al bit...I was thinking him just appearing in Denerim and fighting. A nod of acknowledgement. No words. Methinks it's somehow more powerful that way.



Since you run into Jowan in every origin, it kinda makes sense that you can recruit him with every origin, no?



Anyway,I'm glad you commented on this. Some parts are fully playable, but there's still a LOOONG way to go (mostly because of all the characters that need new area,s LOTS of dialogue and more...)

For Alistair bit, maybe just simply have him show up, then the players are given one chance to pick an option that would determine what his response would be.



Ideas for options would something like:

Good option: welcoming him back (he'd reply in good manner, but with no explanation why he's back)

Silent option: approving nod/smile silently to him (he'd nod/smile back in acknowledgement)

Neutral/good option: asking why he's back (he'd answer/explain)

Bad option: refuse his help and ask him to leave (he'd leave, or attack you, or ignore you and help anyway ... whichever you find more appropriate, Lotion)



But yeah, just an idea to make things more open-ended with him.

Actually, there already has another project which plans to bring back Ser Gilmore as a companion. You could search in the projects session.

I've had some ideas of my own which I'll post on your project page once I've familiarized myself with the toolset enough to know they can be done without too much effort. May take a few since I got my PC copy just today. Got the XBox360 version since before it officially came out here though. Release date delivery promises sometimes just go wrong the good way around. I'll stay in touch and try to help you :). Oh and I'm german by the way, so if you need a translator at some point I guess I'm your man.

Yup ... I'm one of the sausages from the "Deutschländer" commercial lol. Currently the toolset doesn't seem to like me :( First it denied to connect to the SQL database and now it shows me all modules as empty ... I guess getting this thing to work is gonna be tougher than I imagined.

I guess I'll analyse the dialogue scripts some more to find some nice morally grey possibilities at least until my toolset starts working properly.

Edit: Mkay got the toolset problems fixed. Took me half a day, but well at least I can mod now :).

When I first read the title of this work in progress I was thinking, Yikes! someone is trying to make a Wheel of Time mod for DA....



However after reading the thread I can see that this project is indeed very cool. I think if you speculate on the Morrigan offer at the end of the game and somehow have her explain things too much that the mod might be wrong at some point later on when we see several expansions and DLC's for DA. It is obvious that Bioware intends to do something with Morrigan/god child part of the story and if we speculate too much on what that is it might make mods like this one not so great once those expansions and DLC's show up. So I am just saying becareful what you do with that.



This project really does look promising though! :)

A bit of an update.

Since I'm currently working on areas (levels), there's not much to show. I'm also working on other mods (other games) too, so it's going a bit slow.

anyway, I zipped my mod folder nad uploaded it, so anyone can see a bit what's what. Not all things are currently accesable and not all things are finished.
What you can acess in the game:
- a test area (will be changed), a ruin with a box containing some custom items.
- Aquae in Redcliffe. For some reason, ther AL lveling table doesn't work properly yet, so in the battle at night, she only uses her staff. Looking into this.
- saving Iona. The human Noble origin has been tweaked some. The pantry door script is buggy so the last flag heck for her survival (so you cna see her in Deneim) doesn't trigger yet. You cna save her, but won't see her in the Alianage at this point.

NOTE: Two files have ben placed outside of the mod override folder. Why? Because the toolset seems ot see them only if they are in the core override. So place them there - modules/core/overrride

I have finished all the Dragon age games and add ons. I really need a new one to play. there are only so many ways to play these games  before they repeat over and over. I think a new characture should be added. A dragon slayer who is half human and half ogre. This characture should be a grey warden who uses crushed fire stone, mixed with lyrium to have visions of the old ones resting place. There should be a game about finding the old gods resting place, with many add ons as the game progresses.Posted Image
