Hiya! Was unable to find a thread discussing this (not much of a detective). A couple a years back, dragon age witchhunt was released. Yay. But it didnt create a save for the post-final decision (spoiler alert: whether to kill, say goodbye or accompany morrigan). I, and many others i'd wager, didnt know this, and imported our unfinished witch hunt saves into dragon age 2. Is it possible to create a fix for this, so that in the beginning of DA3 i can choose what to do in the end of witch hunt, feels silly to do another 3 playthroughs of DA2 just for that witch hunt epilogue.

PS: i am aware a patch was created for witch hunt, but it doesnt cover saves already imported, does it?

Witch Hunt won't be much of an import. Golems of Amgarak, Wich Hunt and leliana Songwere just to increase the game's LORE and awnser some questions.

I think the events of Witch Hunt will have a significant impact on meeting Morrigan in DA3 if you went through the mirror.

They should just make an official import mod which allows the player to start DA3 shaping the previous (major) decisions in any way he wants without having to replay the whole series.

They could also charge people a few dollars for it - call it special DLC or whatever.

Here, Bio, a way to get some (probably a lot of) easy cash and make everybody happy.

If I remember right there aren't any flags of the DLCs for DAO imported into DA2.
Even Awakening has it's problems, because f.e. the approval values of Origins aren't transfered.

Neither you nor I know what content witch hunt nor GoA will have in Da3 to be making such proclmations.

@Bfler Witch hunt imports a flag into Da2 regarding what the warden did with morrigan

@Op No, the only WH import saves that work are those imported post patch 1.05.

Thanks for clearing this up Emzamination. I was wondering about this too, since my canon Warden, who romanced Morrigan, did not get the autosave after Witch Hunt, and I imported the last save from WH into DA2. I was thinking about redoing this DA2 run-through anyway, so now I'll make sure to go back and get the WH endgame autosave before importing.

A related question I have, which is really a dev question, is whether or not a particular Awakenings import bug will have any effect in DA3. The same Warden who romanced Morrigan did not get any letters from her in Awakenings (pre-patch.) However, later on, in Witch Hunt, Morrigan seemed to act like they were in a relationship, and remembered they had done the DR together.

It would be good to see if a Dev could clear this up definitively, regarding whether we should be concerned or not about these two issues potentially creating import problems in DA3.

Ok, didn't edit any DA2 saves after 1.05 release.

Hopefully I will find the index of the flag so that I can edit it into one of my old DA2 saves with the gff editor. I don't want to repeat the copy&paste procedure with all the missing flags of Origins in a new DA2 save.

Witch Hunt left much more unanswered questions than the ones it answered.

Of all the things I'd ever want to import into any game, the actions of Witch Hunt is on the top of the list. Based on what we saw in DA2, my expectations of such a thing actually happening are slim to none. Here's hoping I'm proven wrong. I understand factoring in all of our choices (especially from DA:O) is a large task, but I thought Bioware was supposed to be the gold standard of true choice and consequence in gaming. My initial bitterness has mellowed into indifference. Again, I hope I'm wrong.....very, very wrong.

No problem, and to put a finer point on the subject, you must start witch hunt from the beginning if you patched while you had a game in progress.

As to your second questiong, there is no letter from morrigan, only zevran and leliana. When morrigan leaves in origins, she does not want the warden to know where she is.

Hi this is an old post but think i have the same problem. I imported the save file of witch hunt before i talked to morrigan, because it didnt make a save file after i made the decision. I play on the ps3, so is there any way to make the dicision carry over to da2, in case it does have impact on the story in da3??

I would think the only way to fix it for the PS3 is to patch DA:O and load your oldest save and have the conversation again to create the required auto-save.  After that you will be stuck to replay DA2.

Although Witch Hunt initially didn't make a post-decision autosave when it launched, they patched it later on to make sure it did (at least on 360). You could always play through the decision again from an earlier save and then import.

Apart from that I've heard that on the 360 it's possible to copy your save onto a usb, open the save file on a computer and use a save game editor to change plot flags. I've never done it, nor do I know whether you can do the same thing on a PS3.

Right, and then she fell through the Eluvian.  Dead?  Alive?  I guess now we know.

But I thought the problem was that Dragon Age 2 doesn't do anything with the Witch Hunt flags even if they import. Doesn't Alistair still say the Hero of Ferelden will be back in Denerim soon even if you traveled through the Eluvian portal with Morrigan?

Is there any way for the ps3 to patch DA:O? If anyone knows how to make them patch da:o, plz do tell. I want to replay the series before da3, and want to do everything right this time. im pretty sure i had the same problem with Golems of Amgarrak, because it didnt make a post-ending save

Oh God, please don't give EA any ideas.

At any rate, this is the direction I suspect they're going to carry your decisions over, but it would be incredibly crappy of them to charge for it...

Hey guys, sorry for bringing this back (I guess bringing back this one is better than the 3-yr-old thread) but I have a question regarding the Witch Hunt importing to DA2.

I have an auto-save file from Witch Hunt that when loaded, it immediately goes to credits. Should I import that one for DA2? I did that but in the Plot Summary option of DA2, it doesn't say that anything about the decision I made in WH.

I just realized now that I may have imported an unfinished save for my previous playthroughs.

I have the ultimate edition of DA:O for Xbox if that makes any difference.

This thread probably needs to be shifted down into the DA2 forum section. But to answer you, I believe you should indeed upload the one that brings you to the credits scene.

Yes. The Keep is going to be great for imports and whatsnot. Kudos to Bioware for coming up with that idea.
