Here's the thing about quote pyramids... in addition to being annoying, spammy, and potentially thread-derailing... they also list exactly who should be banned. So, by all means, if you wish your account to be temp banned, keep it up.

No one is "allowed" to do it; spam is clearly addressed in the forum code of conduct.  However, I also believe, in cases such as this, it is acceptable to issue a strong warning before resorting to more extreme measures, i.e., removing people forcibly from the conversation.
